  1. South Paw is awesome.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 10:13 AM) Scarier, to me, is the crowd reaction. When you are villifying the other side as a terrorist socialist outsider who doesn't believe in the U.S., is it a surprise the reaction to him will get more violent? It's exactly what they want. The McCain campaign continues to reach new lows.
  3. 2009 bounce-back candidate Nick Swisher.
  4. I think it's thankfully time to say goodbye to Mr. Uribe.
  5. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 08:50 AM) Well your candidate isn't up there in age, but in my opinion he does have some mental health issues. He chose to associate himself with a known terrorist and a racist pastor for 20+ years. I don't need to see his health records for that. Didn't take you long to jump on the known terrorist thing eh? The McCain campaign may be willing to be that low, but I'd hope the educated masses of Soxtalk can ignore that one as the complete BS it is. Reverend Wright, go ahead, continue, that one was stupid. However, Ayers, at the time of his association with Obama (nothing more than an acquaintance, mind you), was a well-respected man within Chicago. Not only that, but he does not have a single conviction on his record...
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 08:57 AM) The quotes were, for the most part, very obvious as to who gave them. That's true.
  7. Should be another wonderful night spewed with the same s*** we've been hearing for months and a few lies thrown in.
  8. I'd hope by now we've made our choices, but here's another fun little quiz... 10/13 of my responses matched Obama. Not at all surprising. Match-o-Matic 2
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 08:27 PM) I; for one, have had my fill of Thome. I'd rather have him next year than Junior.
  10. Exactly, how can you complain? We lost to a better team, but I guarantee KW has us in position to win this division next year once again.
  11. Can't really complain, we go from 72-90 to 89-74, win a one game playoff, and hold on to win the AL Central without the surprise that is THE Carlos Quentin. We add a young future stud 2B in Gordon Beckham, another (Jordan) Danks, and find out we have two very solid SPs in John Danks and Gavin Floyd. We get to see one of the best hitters of all time play for the White Sox (and make the final out of the season), and we do get to look forward to the development of Carlos Quentin into one of the game's best power hitters, as well as Alexei Ramirez. I'm not complaining tonight. It's sad, but it happens. The Sox provided MANY entertaining moments down the stretch. Let's go White Sox... 2009!
  12. This game is nowhere near over.
  13. Gotta put one up this inning...
  14. How the f*** does Pena steal?
  15. Get some pumpkin-pie haircut wig, or a beatles style wig, and one of those kids jersey shirts they sell anywhere with Quentin on it. Tape around his right wrist would be funny too. Seriously, the wig below (one like it), under a sox hat with a CQ t-shirt, that'd be HILARIOUS.
  16. QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 11:47 AM) I've thought of this scenario in my dreams the last 2 weeks. That's why I have been rooting for the sawx. Yup, same here.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 10:49 AM) He has given the Cubs 2 playoff appearances in 2 years. For that franchise...that's not that bad. With that payroll and the competition in the NL, it's still bad.
  18. Interesting stat I discovered after hours of reserach: The Rays have never won a road playoff game.
  19. Let's get back on topic. If we can somehow come back and beat the Rays, an extremely tough task... and the Red Sox hold on against the Angels... we'll have TCQ back and home field advantage. It's asking a lot, but that would really set up as well as possible for the White Sox.
  20. This pisses me off that the Red Sox had to lose that game. Ugh.
  21. QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 08:39 AM) pm info Sent!
  22. This is one of the first times the Bears just annihilated a team they were supposed to... the Packers have lost 3 in a row, and their defense is really suffering. The Bears will beat the Falcons by two touchdowns, as the Falcons and my boy Michael Turner just won't be able to run effectively, which will for Ryan to do too much.
  23. QUOTE (The Critic @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 04:05 PM) Penguins getting chippy, down 3-0 with 2 minutes left. HOCKEY IS BACK, THANK GOD!!! That. For some reason in fantasy I didn't get credited with Wade Redden's goal/assist night. HMMMM! Message sent to Yahoo!
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 3, 2008 -> 08:20 AM) I have an NBA Keeper league starting this year, with a lot of dedicated fantasy basketball players. Anyone interested in joining (Yahoo!) feel free to PM me. Again, this is the first year, so we're starting from scratch. The rules are posted in the league thread. The draft is Tuesday night, to avoid any White Sox games that might be played. bump
  25. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Oct 5, 2008 -> 12:18 PM) And the Cubs have Soriano signed through 2014... ouch. I said it the day they signed him it was a terrible move. They signed a guy who can only lead off but can't lead off... he and Fukudome locked up is just terrible for the Cubs. Soriano is signed through his age 37 year at nearly 18 million. How Hendry even still has a job is a joke.
