  1. Road grey jersey with my last name on it and lucky number (I'll never get dealt) with black jon garland t-shirt underneath, and a regular old black sox hat. Oh, and pimp shades.
  2. executive of the year if you ask me

I think Swisher just needed the Sox to beat up on Gio to realize there's no pressure because we didn't give up s*** to get him.

Finally, a spot-on review of Tropic Thunder. http://www.vaildaily.com/article/20080821/AE/188293159/1064
  5. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 11:02 PM) I'll take Joe Nathan over K-Rod any day of the week. He's VASTLY superior. K-Rod hasn't gone more than 1 inning in a single game this year and actually has 7 saves in which he threw less than an inning. Second the Joe Nathan talk. Bobby Jenks has a better ERA and WHIP than K-Rod. Just because he gets a ton of save chances doesn't make him the best pitcher in the league. Not even close.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 09:48 AM) Ya my grandma died of that earlier this year (she was pretty much gone for other reasons anyways) but no one even knew she had pancreatic cancer till just a couple weeks before she died and it was a fluke they even were checking that part of her body when they found it. Fortunately it is a rare cancer, because it is something like 90% fatal Isn't that what Patrick Swayzee has?
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 21, 2008 -> 09:29 AM) What happened to my post in this thread? Alot of mine have been disappearing lately. drugs
  8. This is a joke. If you use our unlimited service too much, we'll take it away from you. But don't worry, we won't be refunding any of your monthly fees!
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 04:46 PM) You should write letters to celebrities; http://weaselmcpuppy.blogspot.com/ Ha, that's hilarious.
  10. Article I wrote for my fantasy sports blog on players you should target to pick up for the fantasy playoffs. http://because-i-say-its-important.blogspot.com/
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 04:28 PM) Nice cat, I disagree with the article it wrote though. Feel free to post a comment... my wife was the author. (that is one of our 2 cats though).
  12. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 04:03 PM) You should link it in your sig(on all of your talkchicagosports profiles) for some hits. Are you using blogspot? I used it and they had some "Top 200 blogs" and "top 100 new blogs" that people would search through. Unfortunately a lot of idiots get on there and ruin things just to be trolls. Good idea.
  13. Anyone have any best-practices for getting this thing out there? Or does it just kinda automatically get hit? PS, got a pop culture article up there now.
  14. I have a lot to say about fantasy sports and pop culture, so I launched a blog this morning. It stemmed from my disbelief that the general world has not yet and/or took so long to pick up on Ian Stewart as a fantasy stud they should add. People such as Eric Karabell and Brandon Funston got lucky, but they don't know much. I think I know more, and maybe someone someday will agree and pay me to write this s***. Until then, it's at the URL below, feel free to comment on how lame I am and how I know nothing, but I figured having been around here for awhile some folks out there might actually trust my judgement and give a damn. http://because-i-say-its-important.blogspot.com/ PS, you'll notice that's Jim Thome's silhouette I used for the MLB portion!
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 09:49 AM) was it all through translation or did Lexi speak English? Ozzie Jr.
  16. Not much to it. "Happy to be on the team, White Sox were most aggressive team when he was looking to sign, liked that they had a Spanish-speaking manager, thinks the Cuban leagues are hard, but the Majors are much better, is honored to even be considered for RoY but unconcerned if he gets it, it's fun to be in a pennant race" Stock stuff.
  17. I'm looking forward to this.
  18. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 12:50 AM) I don't care what we win as long as we get into the playoffs. Sure the division would be best but the last 6 World Series have had a wild card team in it. That.
  19. With Boston looking like dung lately and their best players playing with injuries, that WC very well could come out of the AL Central.
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 19, 2008 -> 05:42 PM) You know what this reminds me of? (NSFW) http://www.boreme.com/boreme/funny-2006/turkey-brazil-p1.php tig ol' bitties!
  21. Thanks for the explanation on the 10-days. Maybe Richard goes crazy tonight and goes 6 innings, and BA smacks THREE homers off of King Felix.
  22. Why is Clayton Richard starting tonight? I'm not saying he's done or anything, but he sure didn't look ready during his last callup. Then we called up Broadway who had quite a nice start against the Royals and was immediately sent back down. I feel like we should stick with Lance who showed us some good things, rather than going back to Clayton so quickly. Does anyone else find this one odd?
