  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 11, 2013 -> 02:55 PM) They still arent all that physical, which hurt them a bunch last year. They have holes, luckily the offense has covered up quite a bit of them. The need to "be physical" was a myth last year.
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 11, 2013 -> 12:19 AM) Got involved in a fight at a bar/club, broke up with my girlfriend (totally my fault) got in a car accident and have to pay a s***load of damage even with insurance.. yea.. worst weekend of my life. yay bar fights!
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 11, 2013 -> 10:11 AM) You won't find very many centers that can play 82 games. Let alone the 39 minutes/game that Thibbs runs him out there. Seriously, the only complaint I have about him as a coach is his inability to take the foot off the gas. He could take some notes from the opposing head coach this evening and his DNP - Old stuff.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 11, 2013 -> 10:13 AM) This is a terrifying post. I knocked on wood.
  5. Let's talk about the Chicago Blackhawks. We are 12 games into the season, and the Blackhawks are 10-0-2, having played the best that the West has to offer while only having two home games on the schedule. The Blackhawks just got a shutout for Christ's sake. This team is deep. It seems like everything is coming together *knocks on wood, again*. Crawford has mentally grown into at least a passable number one goaltender. We have four defensemen who are legitimate number ones (heck, I'd say Ikea and Oduya have been our best pairing pretty handily). The Blackhawks have two of the best lines in hockey, and a fully-dedicated Kanerrrrrrrr. This is the sickest Hawks team I have ever seen - better than those early to mid 90s behemoths, and even better than the 2010 team. Please keep them healthy, God.
  6. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 10, 2013 -> 09:26 PM) Can we just start the playoffs tomorrow? Yes - I don't want any *knock on wood* time for real injuries.
  7. Dwight Howard can barely lift his arms up and has lost all confidence in his abilities. Kobe and injury have ruined him, we'll see if he can bounce back and at least become the dominant defensive player he once was. In yesterday's game, Steve Blake blocked a D-Wade attempt, and the announcers tried to give the block to Dwight. Blake got higher on the ball than Dwight f***ing Howard. Bulls dodged a serious bullet.
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 10:24 PM) Man, I'm about to freak my s***. My wife's piece of s*** 6th generation iPod is in an endless recovery boot. Everytime I connect it to any PC, it just says it needs to recover. I've tried the fix of switching its drive number 80 times. I hate this little piece of s***. Of course, the moment I post this s*** the thing pops on after I plug it into the wall. I'm terrified to plug it back into the PC.

  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 02:13 PM) Regarding Bargnani. I hate it since we don't have Asik, but I could see Bargnani's efficiency rates climb significantly on a team like the Bulls where he goes from the #1 option in Toronto to the #3 option (behind Deng/Rose). He can create his own shot and is a good shooter, however, he's also known to be incredibly lazy and not into things (and his efficiency/shooting percentages totally blow). There are some good quotes from some of his various coaches he's had that talk about the type of player he could be...he's just never put in the effort and doesn't have the drive to become that player. However, I could see the value he'd bring and would have to assume if he did come Thibs would put him in a position where he'd at least be in the right spots defensively (similar to what they do with Boozer) and it would be nice to stretch the floor when Rose comes back (knowing that when Rose returns, the paint is going to get a whole lot smaller, which increases the importance of having an outside game, something the Bulls currently absolutely blow at). I like this analysis of the idea of adding Bargs - I just don't know that his ceiling is as high as some think.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 02:13 PM) Rose apparently doing absolutely everything in practice (as of yesterday) and is asking certain teammates to stay late to help him get ready!!! Derrick Rose has been doing everything and had zero limitations in practice since January 30th. If he made less money and were on a less conservative roster and mattered less, he'd have been playing last week. That being said, the Bulls like to be right, and they've been saying after the ASB for 9 months, and we'll be seeing D very very soon.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 02:07 PM) What about the singing beer vendor?
  13. QUOTE (Cali @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 02:02 PM) Build the last ballpark before the Retro takeover happened. Start renovation before the park was even a teenager, basically admitting they f***ed up. The renovations are nice, i'll admit, but it's plastic surgery on an Ugly ballpark that we're stuck with for the foreseeable future, while everyone else has these beautiful Modern Parks. It's a shame. I feel like with the renovations the Cell is actually pretty awesome - that being said it doesn't have a single trademark that you'd love to see, unless Fundamentals counts!
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 12:50 PM) But Wisconsin
  15. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 11:47 AM) it truly was hideous. They were given alternate designs, some that harkened back to the old parks and could have had homeplate facing that beautiful skyline. And then there was a pretty cool modern stadium which I'm kind of glad they passed on... New Comiskey Oh man, the RF home run porch would have been cool as part of the renovations.

    The show's on FX, so the initial reaction is to like it. I was one of few who stuck with "Lights Out" because I legitimately thought that show was good. I think "The Americans" is poorly done and doubt I'll stick with it.
  17. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 10:16 AM) Andrea Bargnani is a 7' C/PF who averages less than 5 rebounds a game... He plays a SF game in 7 foot tall frame, that's all. The guy's been steadily declining since his peak in 09/10. If we want a tall guy to suck at defense and rebounding while chucking threes and shooting around 40% from the field, we can just give Vlad-Rad a ton of run. That would be a bad idea. I can't believe we found a "trade Boozer" rumor that I hate, but I hate the idea of Bargnani, and so does Thibodeau apparently. link
  18. Interesting - thanks for the reminder. Brian was awesome.

    QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 09:46 AM) It was. You must have turned it off after 15 minutes because it took me until about halfway through the episode before I was feeling it. I think I got well over an hour in - when they were banging in the car to "In the Air Tonight" it really, really lost me. I was so like Edward Norton below but with a tv remote instead of a laptop.
  20. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 07:44 AM) Just for the sake of comparison, Urlacher had a 4.59 40 at the combine. Beautiful, thanks for covering the exact specifics that I didn't take the time to look up.
  21. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 7, 2013 -> 07:57 PM) And even then I wouldnt take Teo in the first round. My guess is he does not run fast 40. Right now draft scout has his time between 4.65 and 4.85 If he is near higher end he may not even be a 2nd round pick. All things being considered Id rather have Mike Taylor from Wisconsin, who will run a very similar 40 time, who was one of the top Big10 lbs and who you wont have to pay a stupid premium for because he wasnt a Heisman finalist. Urlacher wasn't a physical specimen or a guy who ran a 4.4, he came out as a smart player who finished his tackle. Hating on Teo has become a national past-time, but he has the football smarts (and those only) to captain an NFL defense. That said, there's bigger fish to fry in the first round than MLB, but he'd fit in there nicely.
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 09:43 AM) SErious question...can Rip Hamilton shoot anymore? He is missing everything. Rip Hamilton is a gimp being paid $5 million. There's nothing he does well anymore, and the Bulls hopefully will ditch him once D Rose returns.

    QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 09:42 AM) The Americans was very good again this week. This statement implies that it was good last week.
