QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 12, 2013 -> 08:26 PM) I think it is Rose's camp trying to force the Bulls hand into a trade. Brilliant deduction, Holmes. I've never seen such an overreaction on a quote in my life. The dude says it could be "next week" or "next year". He's just talking and being honest. Now everyone is freaking out - Rose will be back, and he's certainly not trying to force a trade or do anything other than come back at an MVP level. He doesn't want to come out and be embarrassed, even though there's going to be a learning curve getting back into action. Jesus, people, it's just a quote. The Bulls are "against Derrick Rose" here anymore than he's against himself. They have more invested in him than any organization out there, and they want him healthy, too. Everyone calm the f*** down. Rose isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, took an interview, and just honestly rattled off some dates while he hopes to feel "110%" ready.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 13, 2013 -> 08:44 AM) I dont like our taking shots from the point approach on the power play that much. Anaheim doesnt pull their pressure out to our d men so we just had guys with so-so shots wailing away at their guys blocking the net. The 4 on 3 for basically 4 minutes last night in OT was quite frustrating - gee, I wonder if they'll cycle the puck back and fourth and tank slap shots into traffic? I guess it works, but Anaheim had that locked down and gave this 30 year old freak out of nowhere goaltender enough vision to make the stops. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 13, 2013 -> 07:59 AM) Saad is so much fun to watch in open ice. Hopefully he starts putting the biscuit in the basket with regularity. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 12, 2013 -> 12:42 PM) I'd be careful with that, phone could end up all red. Yeah, but you can't hoe without red lips.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 12, 2013 -> 12:37 PM) I could fit something a bit bigger than my iPhone in my pocket comfortably, but I can't fit something THAT big comfortably. The difference is less than half an inch. I'd say that's simply "a bit bigger".

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Feb 12, 2013 -> 09:26 AM) Can't wait for those long summer days when you sit in the couch and veg out watching the ball game with a cold Hacker-Pschorr and the laptop posting in the game thread on soxtalk... I'm sorry, I can't understand what you're typing because of dat ass in your avatar.

I like that people in here are feeling bad for a man who makes $15 million per year. No one forced to take the $56 from a club that did not give him a no-trade clause and has the history that the Mariners do. F*ck his dogs. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 12, 2013 -> 11:38 AM) I put my phone in my right pocket with my keys, never had an issue with scratching. My phone always gets left pocket to itself, or maybe with some chapstick.

"I don't have a set date," he said. "I'm not coming back until I'm 110%. Who knows when that can be? It can be within a couple of weeks. It could be next year. It could be any day. It could be any time. It's just that I'm not coming back until I'm ready." Rose said that "right now" he's "probably in the high 80s" when asked to give a percentage, adding that he is "far away" from a return.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 12, 2013 -> 10:14 AM) I've had that recurring nightmare. We get strung along for another 3-4 seasons, hoping he gets back but he never does. Meanwhile Thibs is good enough to keep the franchise winning to the point where we're stuck in no mans land in the draft for the foreseeable future. Stuck being "good" but not "good enough." Luckily that won't happen. Rose will come back even stronger/better than before ala Peterson. We shock Miami in the ECF and win a 7 game Finals against the Thunder. And then we suffer through a terrible baseball season until a mediocre football season starts. You forgot about the scheduling issue when the Stanley Cup Final and NBA Finals both need to be figured out in the same building.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 12, 2013 -> 10:01 AM) Uh so reading this thread I just realized I had a bad dream last night. I guess because it seemed real (just watching a basketball game) I didnt even think about it, but Rose came back and hurt his knee again. It was pretty sad. I must be subconsciously worried. Well, you need not worry for awhile, as now it looks like - even though he's been cleared to play in games - the Bulls have decided to make us wait until March. .@kcjhoop just said on NBA TV that he thinks Rose will be held out into March, though an "open window" starts after AS break

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 12, 2013 -> 08:46 AM) Carlos Boozer has been pretty good this year too, the Bulls should try and get a Melo for him. Hm. I dunno, we'd need a top 10 pick back, too.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 12, 2013 -> 05:36 AM) How does someone that is as hot as Abby Elliott come from someone who looks like Chris Elliott? Ugly celebrities get to bang hot women because of money - I guess Abby had a 50/50 shot?

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 12, 2013 -> 04:09 AM) Apprently we want an expiring contract, an unprotected draft pick and someone to take on either Glen Davis, Hedo Turkoglu or Al Harrington's contract. I don't know whether it's worth moving him from our point of view unless we at least get a top 10 pick in the deal. Redick's become a pretty damn good fit in our system. Redick's been fine this year, but you're not dumping a s*** contract and getting a top 10 pick for him.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 11, 2013 -> 04:40 PM) I think you are confusing what I'm saying with wanting to add a John Scott or something like that. There have been times when the offense is having trouble with the defensive system in the neutral zone and they go to getting the puck deep and I just wished we have one or two more guys that would be tougher in the corners. Not advocating goons at all. Yeah, but that style of play sacrifices the finesse we've seen. If you crash the boards you have less opportunity in front of the net. Our skill players have done a fine job one-on-one getting to the puck and poking it to the open man along the boards and then cycling it to an open guy for a great offensive opportunity and crashing the goaltender after the shot takes off - I advocate changing nothing right now. -

In all seriousness, I'd like you to point to one moment this season where you thought "gee, if the Hawks were more physical there, they'd have been better off" - it's a myth. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 11, 2013 -> 04:27 PM) The need to insert players whose only skill was to be physical was a myth, but overall we got pushed around. Skill players with physicality is key to being a cup winner, I think we have a few up and coming but we could still use another 1 or 2. For example I think Saad bring physicality to the wing position but he's not a brawler in that sense. However strength on the puck in the corners is invaluable. You said they still lack a need to be physical, yet they are 10-0-2 - just curious why those results tell you they need to throw more elbows.
