Sale back to the rotation per KW, MRI comes back clean
Steve9347 replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Cooper just said "don't be surprised if Addison Reed closes tonight if we have a lead" on XM radio, via 670 boys. -
Youkilis is 33, wow. I guess that makes sense since he didn't become an everyday player until he was 27.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 9, 2012 -> 12:41 PM) The guy who took the struggling Youkilis' place has 7 extra base hits in 22 AB and an OPS over 1.400. Bobby V and Youkilis don't get along and Youkilis is starting to get banged up pretty regularly and his production is starting to drop. I think the Red Sox will dump him. It's 22 at bats.
-
Everyone is discussing the merits of Youk way too seriously given this deal really should never happen.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 9, 2012 -> 12:27 PM) Everybody would. That would spell the end of Brent Morel. He's just terrible and I can't believe I fell for that September run. Never again. The White Sox do not do home-grown position players. I would like to point out that I very vocally and adamantly did NOT fall for that September run.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 9, 2012 -> 12:27 PM) I didn't make things up, that was the story yesterday. I'm sure glad the White Sox don't have the same policy or Jerry Owens would have been playing instead of Carlos Quentin in 2008. Jerry Owens =/= Kevin Youkilis

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 9, 2012 -> 12:16 PM) Why the Boston Red Sox should trade Kevin Youkillis. Beat me to it. YoukilisTalk.com begins.

ESPN: Why the Boston Red Sox Should Trade Kevin Youkilis
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 9, 2012 -> 12:01 PM) Supposedly Youk is getting benched when he comes back. Why do you make things up? Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington said Kevin Youkilis (back) will retain his job as the starting third baseman when he's healthy, despite the strong start for Middlebrooks (hamstring), the Boston Globe reports.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 9, 2012 -> 11:58 AM) Only a Chicago writer would think that is a fair trade. Ha, no s***.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 9, 2012 -> 11:51 AM) Just remember, when Nolan picked Heath Ledger for the Joker we all laughed very hard I'm unsure that this is true. I know a lot thought it was out of nowhere, but dude had acting chops.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 9, 2012 -> 11:42 AM) Diane Lane and Kevin Costner And that movie has now become irrelevant to me.

Everything is yuck right now when talking Bulls.

Being a highly paid mascot sure must be hard.

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ May 9, 2012 -> 10:29 AM) There's probably a reason for every beat writer having a hard time keeping the story straight. If only they'd had a direct line to NSS72, then they'd have been in the know the entire time. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 8, 2012 -> 10:26 PM) What intelligent people believe that? I'd call them cretans, not intelligent. Ah, so they are cretans because their religion differs from yours?
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 8, 2012 -> 05:22 PM) What about the Bible? Do you believe those things happened? Ha! Maybe one or two things were fashioned around truth, but, um - no.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 8, 2012 -> 04:48 PM) Do you guys live your lives wildly then? Why not just go crazy if this all means nothing? If you are going to just be done when you die and not cognizant of anything in heaven, then why not be reckless pursuers of debauchery? I'd prefer to live out my years in freedom with the people I love than in a cell. I don't need "God" to keep me from doing crazy things.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 8, 2012 -> 10:49 PM) It's worth noting that Andrew Garfield (the new Spider-Man) was randomly on The Avengers set while it was filiming. Even though Sony owns the movie rights to Spidey...maybe they reached a deal so that he can be in Avengers 2? I've always felt Spider-Man was the most "made for movies" superhero, so throwing him in the Avengers sequel could be great. If Marvel really wanted to get folks to masturbate, they'd get Spidey and Wolverine in one of the future movies.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 8, 2012 -> 06:16 PM) If DC ever wants to make a series of movies that will approach what Nolan's Batman movies are at, they will make The Death of Superman. Even better - the Death and Return of Superman so Shaq can reprise his role from STEEL. Ha. Seriously, though, given movie goers are falling in love with goofy galactic s*** like Thor (not making fun, loved it), you'd think they'd try to pull off that Return of Superman storyline. There were so many characters, and rocking a Cyborg evil Superman would be tight as f***.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 7, 2012 -> 09:20 AM) For reals though, this movie was so awesome. I almost passed out during the big fight in New York City. I was on geek over load. Also Mark Ruffalo was awesome as the Hulk. I've only seen him in one other movie, so I was unsure how he was gonna be. Agreed on both accounts. Ruffalo blew previous Hulks out of the water. Every space scene looked fantastic in 3D. Like you were f***ing there.
-
Yup. Awesome movie.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:41 PM) They fired the wrong guy. Zero confidence in the leadership of this team moving forward. Just idiotic. Stan Bowman really, really has to go. He has yet to make a move that actually improved things.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 9, 2012 -> 09:59 AM) See above. Steve owned himself, illustrating that Cooper is training Sale as a reliever, and the same Cooper went out of his way to say it wasn't permanent. It was a quote that said you were wrong. You said it did not exist, it existed. You're so badass, though, keep it up. Everyone respects you. -

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 9, 2012 -> 09:01 AM) This is hilarious. When they announced he was going to the pen, no one on the Sox (that I saw) was quoted as saying it was permanent. But posters on SoxTalk decided that must be true, so it was. You mean other than Don Cooper, right? "We’re doing it because we feel it’s best for him, his career and his health. It’s the best way to keep him healthy and strong. It gives us the best opportunity to do that. It’s easier to maintain that and keeping tabs on this in the bullpen than it is as a starter. We already know he’s a good left-handed reliever. That’s been proven over the past 1½ years. Now we’ll be trying to make him one of the best left handed relievers in baseball, not just in the American League." That's a long-term plan FROM THE PITCHING COACH. But please, continue acting all high and mighty like you know everything.
