  1. Cutting Matt Forte would be moronic. He'll play.
  2. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ May 15, 2012 -> 10:40 AM) His stats are nearly identical in everything except FG% (better) and FT% (worse). His usage rate is down, which would happen when you go from Baron Davis/Mo Williams to Chris Paul at the point, and his minutes are also down slightly. Those same flaws apply to 90% of the big men in the league. Very few of them average/averaged 22-11 in their first two seasons. Well, his boards were down more per game, so I guess that annoyed me. However, he's still not near a superstar.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2012 -> 10:18 AM) 15 day DL for Matt Kemp. You always post these links so much later than the information becomes widely known. It's almost comical.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2012 -> 09:54 AM) I watched some of Q4 last night and couldn't believe how lackadasical Rondo appeared. He had more than a few chances to drive into the lane, and just kept settling for jumpers. A Rondo shooting jumpers needs to have his head examined. He hits one first-half buzzer beater and thinks he's Kobe now.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 15, 2012 -> 09:48 AM) Philly's defense is not to be ignored. They are pulling 70 point games over and over in the playoffs, thats pretty impressive even with Rose out. They got completely smoked the one game Rose played. A healthy Bulls squad would have swept them and averaged right around 100. They are a painful matchup for the Celtics, however.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2012 -> 09:48 AM) There's serious, legit talent there, but it could use some coaching. Don't worry, Vinny's got it. He's an elite coach, and has officially shown the Bulls what's up because he squeaked by the Grizz in 7 games.
  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 15, 2012 -> 09:44 AM) His stats say yes. Watching him play though, not really. I was just trying to make a point that Vinny still sucks at everything he does. His stats show regression despite playing with the best distributor in the NBA. His game says he really can't score with anyone between him and the basket, and his shooting is horrendous. Blake Griffin is not even close to an NBA superstar.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 15, 2012 -> 09:36 AM) I don't know why he's feeling like he's the s*** after he BARELY got by the Grizzlies with a team that had two super stars. So we're calling Blake Griffin a superstar now? Those Kia ads have paid off for him, eh?
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 15, 2012 -> 09:18 AM) "All that (expletive) that I had to deal with John and everything, it was a total cluster(expletive)," said Del Negro, who coached the Bulls from 2008-10. "Listen, I understand the business: I hadn't coached before, and my first job was in Chicago, where I had absolutely no (management) support. Then I came to this position, where history spoke for itself. But I knew it was important to keep working at the craft." -Vinny Del Negro Dude gets handed Chris Paul and now he thinks he's Phil Jackson, apparently.
  10. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 15, 2012 -> 03:38 AM) I consider a loyal fanbase one that sticks with a team when it is bad, not blindly believes they are always a good team. That's the difference. Just taking time out of our day to post about this team on a message board all the time proves our loyalties. Great and accurate post.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 14, 2012 -> 10:13 PM) Marty34 knew this one was coming after tonight. LOL dude has a .581 OPS. Let's all jump for joy.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 15, 2012 -> 09:00 AM) If you are this upset about Kaner, then you must be furious that the Bears would trade for Brandon Marshall. His record makes Kaner looks like a saint. When Kane starts producing like a top-5 player at his position, I will be more forgiving. Also, at least Marshall displays some remorse and has been diagnosed with a condition that can be to blame. Kane is just a raging douchebag.
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 15, 2012 -> 08:24 AM) e.g. while everyone has a good laugh over the Neckbeard whiskey-chugging pictures, Orton never acted the way Kane does and wasn't treated the same way Kane is. And let's not pretend it's just a few random college kids for sources of his douchebaggery. Yeah, Orton, as far as I can recall, never assaulted a taxi driver. Now Kaner is blackout and allegedly assaulting women - mindless chubby 21 year old college girls. He's black-out evil.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 15, 2012 -> 07:36 AM) Totally. He's rich, famous, and 23. He should be in the Phillipines circumcising little boys with Tim Tebow. How dare he go to a party during the offseason? And there's no more trustworthy source than anonymous e-mails to Deadspin from drunken college kids, let's take it all in as facts. Rich and famous and passed out at a college bar. Yup, that Kaner, just totally doing normal things.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2012 -> 08:04 AM) And soon enough it will cost him. Sadly, probably not.
  16. So, honestly, why, oh why, was Chicago chosen for this glorious, first-ever non-DC event? What a hassle.
  17. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ May 4, 2012 -> 10:47 AM) I knew about that one...but that wasn't the one I was referring to...it was the New Years '99 blizzard. Daley was compared to Bilandic that year and ever since then, he had the trucks out and at the ready...whether it snowed hard or hardly at all. And yes, I had a "I Survived the Blizzard of '77" t-shirt. Just like Ray Raynor. It's going to really suck in 20 years when I'm the old guy making these references in the Soxtalk virtual meeting and game room.
  18. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 15, 2012 -> 01:09 AM) Not everyone can be a 50 year old trapped in a 20-something-year-old body. There's something different between getting black out drunk and getting black out drunk and choking a woman and harassing police officers. 23 =/= 21 - there's a time when responsibility matters.
  19. KyYlE - You said "the Bears historically do not pay coaches top dollar." Badger - Thats not what I said, I said: "The Bears arent well known for paying top dollar for coaches." Holy s***, dude, that's just beyond stupid to claim those statements mean something different.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 14, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) Same injury that caused Manu to miss 15 games this season I don't really get why J4L found it comical. That is an awful injury that effects just about every movement in your body.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 14, 2012 -> 02:18 PM) Outside of Buster Posey, the first half of that '08 draft is looking awful. Pedro Alvarez has crushed my prospect spirit. Tim Beckham hasn't sniffed the majors yet. Brett Wallace is somewhere in the world getting traded again. Hosmer is hitting .194 or some s*** like that. Brian Matusz is an abomination. Justin Smoak is garbage. Yuck. That draft seemed so legit at the time, too. T. Beckham is 22 now with a rocking .568 OPS in AAA.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 14, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) Why would Beckham get Kenny fired? It was a great pick, one that supposedly everyone in the organization was thrilled to see. There's a gigantic difference between making a logical move only for it to not work out (ie: Beckham drafted, Dunn signed to fill DH spot) and making a move that makes no sense to anyone and having it work out pretty much like everyone expected it to (ie: Hudson trade, very possibly the Santos trade also). Manny trade was epic-fail. Peavy deal had all the warning signs and then-some. Let's not forgive how hamstrung we've been because of that trade simply due to Peavy's amazing month to start the season 3 years later.
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 14, 2012 -> 02:07 PM) Of course. I'm just saying, the Twins and Royals didn't dole out well over $300 million dollars last winter. Another week or so and the Angels could be 10+ games out. They'll eventually start playing better, I think. But they'd have to go '06 second half Twins to catch Texas. Thus the WC's being their only way to reach the postseason.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 14, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) CGI was weird, but the normal scene were pretty damn good. Obviously has a little ways to go for 3D to be perfect, but it really sucks you in when things are basically in front of you. Also the people next to me were eating a full meal and that was realyl weird. You are supposed to just get stoned and house a bag of popcorn I thought? Surprisingly, even though I do not believe in God, I also do not do drugs.
