QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 28, 2012 -> 03:32 PM) I thought it was Friday, meaning he had the whole morning Saturday. Okay I was wrong, it appears to be October 1, which would have been Saturday. Given that information, it is a complete cluster, because yes Fedex was open, but no it wasnt doing deliveries. You sir, just lost your case.

Finally. It can only lead to a ban in the pros as well.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Feb 28, 2012 -> 12:37 PM) All you should take from the scratch reference is that they are questioning the idea that "bite=zombie". I take from everything that this show is stupid yet too gory to turn off.

Our two days are pretty planned out already. We have our passes reserved for the 9/11 memorial, tickets reserved for The Comedy Cellar, a class booked at Barry's Bootcamp, and reservations at Candle79 (vegan), Butter (Alex Guarnaschelli), and The Lamb's Club (Geoff Zacarian), and a whole lot of other ideas in between. I cannot wait.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 28, 2012 -> 12:29 PM) Well except Jake Peavy, who he balled out for wanting to shut it down. I prefer to try to forget about Ozzie 2011. That guy was not "playing for the White Sox". I'm glad he's gone, but I'll remember his tenure here fondly.

I was also planning on making a similar thread, as the wife and I will be staying in Times Square at the end of March for a quick weekend to check the city out... any recommendations are welcome.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 28, 2012 -> 12:12 PM) Steve, Zombies are like Vampires, depending on the universe, they have very different rules. Yeah, it's just, in this very episode, the idea of scratches is brought up. I would think if a scratch can infect you, then playing blood brothers with a zombie would also infect you. If that's not the case, then it's just stupid.

Ozzie had his faults, but I always liked his policy that when an injured guy says he's ready, then he still gets another day off.

It appears the Marlins are going for "gay rainbow".

Those are some woeful jerseys.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 28, 2012 -> 10:55 AM) I thought in the Walking Dead universe there are no movies like 28 days later, etc, and that is how they explain the term "Walkers" instead of "Zombies" and why none of the characters reference zombie books/movies. I'm not arguing with that, I'm arguing the petri dish of human and zombie blood should turn the humans into zombies. That's common sense in my book.

So The Walking Dead... that was one of the better episodes in a long while, but something is bothering me. Blood. I know that we're not supposed to take all that we know from previous zombie film, such as in 28 Days Later when the zombie plague gets passed into a dude's eye and he becomes a zombie. However, I think it's quite fair to assume that zombie blood into your blood = f***ed. Am I right? I mean, the group was worried about 1 of like 7 wells on the farm being contaminated by a zombie, so they put Glen in the ridiculous position of tying a rope around said zombie to remove it from the well (even though it'd been bleeding and oozing in the thing for weeks, which made no sense, because it must have already been contaminated GAH THIS SHOW IS SO INCONSISTENT). Anyway. Grimes and Shane are all into cutting themselves to get blood on things so the zombies lick it now. Then they can kill the zombies with those knives. Then they can cut themselves again with these zombiefied knives and leave more blood (in the same spot, Shane? really, you are rubbing your blood up on zombie saliva at this point!). This follows a period where Shane and Grimes go 10 rounds, open wounds galore. Grimes is bleeding all over the place, and winds up with zombies piled on top of him, puts a gun in a dead-dead zombie's mouth to get to an undead zombie and the f***er's head explodes everywhere, including all over Grimes and presumably into his blood stream. That's it. These guys should be zombies. It's the inconsistency and the blatant ignorance of any good editing that drives me away from this show even in a good week.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 28, 2012 -> 08:07 AM) Not to mention a billion dollar take world-wide. No, those movies don't make money, they just win Oscars.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 02:05 PM) Stop being dumb. Yeah, because Stan has made any good moves since taking over. Stop being a homer.

Jon Scott dealt to Rangers for 5th round pick. Stan saves his job.

firestanbowman.com is available for just 9.99! I'm seriously considernig purchasing that one.

I abhor Stan Bowman. He has been awful since taking over.

One thing I have a slight problem with is how obvious it was that Christopher Plummer and Meryl Streep were going to win. It's like, now that they're old they have to win. All the sudden, Streep can't lose, and these stupid "Oscars for the olds" are screwing over those deserving who will never get another chance.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 11:52 AM) No doubt. I'd rather get a bit of drunk of it, versus just getting f***ed by the team and the City. This is your best post.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 11:11 AM) Awful trade. Lin/Wesbrook on the same team? That's good for about 50 turnovers a week. Any good team is already punting turnovers. My main worry was Lin looking like a grade schooler against the Heat.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 10:42 AM) There is no Jeremy Lin mention in the article. That alone makes it decent. I was happy to swap Lin for Ty Lawson in our fantasy league. I got a consistent contributor for a guy I think is going to be all over the place the rest of the year.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 09:06 AM) http://dailyherald.com/article/20120226/sports/702269784/ I know this is redundant now. But who cares. Imrem nailed it. Do it. That article was awful and all over the place. "the whole idea is moot, but the Bulls should do it!" "Didn't Dwight and Rose look good on the court together? THey could totally take on LeBron and Wade" (who were ALSO ON THE COURT) Moronic drivel to result in web page hits and ad revenue. That is all.

I love that the All-Star Game is going to mess with LeBron's head even further. The only thing that can stop the Heat this year is LeBron. This is where a year of college ball would have helped him. He'd have had to fall in line with a respected coach on a huge stage. Instead, he goes straight from ESPN-televised high school games where he gets phellated relentlessly to an awful Cavs team where he got phellated relentelessly and everyone considered him the savior. LBJ has had everything handed to him his entire life. Yes, he's an amazing talent and yes he's a monster in the weight room. I don't want to minimalize the work he has put in to become the best pure talent in NBA history. However, his mind is weak. That might be something that never gets turned around... hell, even Carmelo Anthony, in the midst of his worst stretch ever, was giving LBJ s*** about not wanting that shot.
