QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 04:06 PM) They're currently lottery bound in real life too. Oh yeah. Sorry, I confused them with their WNBA counterparts.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 03:56 PM) "The Bulls are fourth in field-goal percentage (46.0), fifth in 3-point accuracy (38.3 percent), and lead the league in assists per game (23.26). They’re outscoring opponents by an NBA-leading 9.45 points on average and outrebounding them by a larger margin (5.48) than any other team." Also of note, the Bulls projected starting lineup of Rose/Hamilton/Deng/Boozer/Noah has only started 5 games together so far this season and they've played the 2nd most road games in the league thus far. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=An95...ap-bullsatbreak Those are certainly some sexy stats. Speaking of sexy, right before the traded deadline I accepted a PC offered deal in NBA 2k12, first trade I've made on the year, as I didn't plan to do any trading. Rip Hamilton has sucked balls for me, yet the lottery bound (in the game) T-Wolves offered up JJ Barea and their 1st for Rip Hamilton and my 1st. Hilarious. Ronnie Brewer, Kyle Korver, and CJ Watson can more than hold down that position. Anyway, back to things about which people actually care.

QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 01:46 PM) They need to release a second album. Same with QotSA, for that matter. QotSA has a bunch of albums. I think you knew that, but the way you wrote that seems to make me think you did not know that. Also, yes, they need a new one because their last 3 were awesome.

QUOTE (onedude @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 03:20 PM) Watch this and tell me episode one was good. Episode 1 was very good.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 03:43 PM) Youre point is all over the place and makes no sense. Ha. You just clearly defined J4L. This is why we love him.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) I'd love to see your reaction if this happened to Frank Thomas. It wouldn't happen, but if it did, I wouldn't be surprised because I really have zero faith in professional sports players anymore.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 02:43 PM) There sure as f*** is a profile. He is already celebrated as one of the best players in the game. He signed a below-market contract basically through the end of his career, yet he is also set monetarily for life. By all accounts he is an extremely hard worker and a grounded, easy-going guy. He's young and in the prime of his career. He also has come out in the past against steroid and PED usage. I'm sorry that you're so jaded that you're going to consider everyone guilty before proven innocent, but I'm just not buying it here. LOL. Jaded, realistic, same difference when it comes to PEDs in MLB.

QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) I wouldn't say "absolute s***," (possibly because I've seen what "absolute s***" looks like in the past with Jonny Flynn and even on his bad days, Rubio looks better than that) but he's been pressing way too much. He's also become a little loose with the ball this month, which has lead to some pretty ugly turnover totals and is something that definitely needs to get fixed going forward. He'll always average more turnovers than the average guard because he sees more openings that the average guard, but if you're consistently turning the ball over four or five times a game, it's unacceptable. As far as the lower assist numbers (7.5 in February after 9.1 in January).. well.. that's bound to happen on a team filled with godawful jump shooters. I don't really put that on him. Another major problem this season has been his shot selection. It looks to me like he's trying to draw fouls consistently on drives and will throw up an ugly, off balanced shot expecting to get a foul. He's never going to have a great shooting percentage, but he definitely needs to be more selective, especially on drives. That being said, he's a rookie. He's playing a s***load of minutes and the Wolves have really leaned on him, so it's bound to impact his play after awhile. I'm not really worried about it. I don't think he's going to be a superstar, but he has a very good career ahead of him (definitely an All-Star career, since he was built to play in those games) and will always have a huge impact on his teams. I wasn't condemning him to the land of the failed, simply wondering if he looked as bad as his stats suggest, mainly because I was offered him in my fantasy keeper league in an interesting deal. Thank you for your insider knowledge.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 01:38 PM) It's just a quick weekend trip to LA, I wouldn't jump off the ledge yet. Hammer had a setback and is not travelling either. Ledges only exist for me when one Derrick Rose is involved, do not fret.

2011-12 White Sox off season catch all thread
Steve9347 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 03:04 AM) Yet every single one of your posts confidently proclaims that this team will be horrendously bad. He bought the package to watch the Marlins, duh. -
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 04:17 PM) You have to show Peavy and Dunn and Rios that there are certain expectations for them and you have the confidence in them to turn it around. Ozzie showed confidence in those idiots all last year and all it did was bury the White Sox even deeper.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 10:52 AM) Morel is going to be a very good #2 hitter. High contact rate with a good eye and a low strike rate. He'll have some power but not great. Leave Ramierez lower where his hitting capabilities fit better to driving in runs. I don't believe Morel will be a very good anything hitter. He's Brent Morel. The dude had a .287 f***ing on base percentage last year with a .653 OPS, and you think he's a good option to receive the 2nd most plate appearances on our team?

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 12:43 PM) He just doesn't fit the profile whatsoever. It just does not pass the smell test that he would do this... Again, call me naive. Hi, Naive. I'm reality. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3153646 There is no "profile" of a PED abuser. They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 01:24 PM) There's a general consensus (understandable) of leave leave leave. I'm curious if anyone who's been through this has attempted to save a relationship which was damaged by cheating through couples therapy or other methods. I wouldn't make such a decision until I've done the things I need to do (leave, get personal therapy) and get myself in a sound mental/emotional state again, but I'm interested to know others' experiences. I love my wife. She's absolutely perfect for me and we couldn't be happier together. If she ever cheated on me, that'd be it. There'd be no forgiving. Some men might be able to do that, but I'd rather live life alone than try to "repair" a relationship with someone who could do that to me.

Toews isn't even traveling with the team. This is a problem.

QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 01:21 PM) I honestly think this year's thread is even worse than the one last year. And that's saying something. Speaking of you, Ricky Rubio has been playing like absolute s*** lately (looking at box scores). Has he looked as bad in person as his stats suggest?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 01:19 PM) Great post, and 100% true. Its like you either have to jump on the bandwagon or be a hater. There is middle ground there to appreciate what the kid is doing without getting all ESPNy about it. Or, people can do what you have just done and ignore posts like mine where I say "he's being exposed against the Heat" and "he really needs to learn to take care of the ball" instead of lumping everyone in with J4L who takes every position to the absolute extreme.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 10:53 AM) How Omar stays in MLB at age 44. It's funny because you implied he's giving handjobs.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 01:07 PM) Game, set, match, and f*** baseball. They continue to handle everything in the worst possible way. Listen, the events got screwed up and rendered the suspension null. This does not exonerate Braun from guilt of using and testing positive, and anyone with a brain should see that. MLB should have said "the case went to an arbiter as we collectively bargained, and the arbiter declared Braun eligible to play. This does not mean he did not fail a drug test, but we stand by the decision based on the agreement set forth". None of this being furious bulls*** and threatening to appeal the decision in Federal Court. MLB seems incapable of letting stories go away.

QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 01:14 PM) The NBA thread always amazes me. It's the best thread of ever.

Derrick Rose - 882 minutes, 73 turnovers Jeremy Lin - 506 minutes, 76 turnovers That's just ridiculously irresponsible.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 10:46 AM) I moved cross-county...I have no friends to hang out with here Join a gym, play some basketball (great way to make friends), lift some weights. Find healthy ways to take out your anger and emotions, because they will be there. Remember, there's always plenty of fish in the sea. This chick was cheating on you... better to have found out now than to have found out after you got hitched. That's a get out of jail free card. Call your family. Talk to them. Hell, skype with them. Get connected with those closest to you by the many different options laid forth in the year 2012. Order a pizza and f***ing devour it. Rent some movies. Go buy the Star Wars collection and spend 15 hours watching intergalactic war. In other words, keep yourself occupied.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 08:41 AM) Also the sudden flip on Lin is hilarious. He's had one bad game out of 8 or 9 now. He already has more turnovers on the season than Derrick Rose. That's pretty nutty.
