  1. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 12:04 PM) True, but they Hornets were supposed to be able to act independently, weren't they? But legally, they apparently were not.
  2. Warriors guard Charlie Bell was taken into custody Thursday after showing up to court legally drunk for a hearing on his - get this - drunken driving case. Bell was held in a holding cell until he "sobered up" after blowing a .09 and is expected back in court on Friday. Bell was arrested in Flint Township on Oct. 21 for drunken driving, driving on a suspended license and failing to stop at a stop sign, and has already been suspended for the first regular season game.
  3. The 2nd rumored tampering team on Dwight is the Rockets.
  4. Clearly, I am reaching for hope here. Please don't take this as "There's absolutely no way Dwight goes to New Jersey". I've been caught in one of those before!
  5. If the other team that tampered is the Lakers, the Bulls have literally become the only remaining viable suitor for Dwight Howard.
  6. NYDNInterNets Stefan Bondy SOURCE: Nets are closing in on Nene after upping the offer last night. Went hard after the center after Chandler went to the Knicks Clearly the Nets, knowing they are busted, are moving on to Nene. They cannot get Dwight now. Someone tell D-Rose and C-Booz to give Dwight a call, eh?
  7. By the way, the NBA is a complete mess right now. On the day teams can start practicing, they might just have to shut things down for a day or two to get everything resolved. This is all f***ing crazy.
  8. Dwight Howard's meeting with Mikhail Prokhorov will kill this trade. There's absolutely no way the NBA can allow teams to meet with players who are under contract. There is no telling what could have been discussed in that meeting. They basically sold him on the whole Brooklyn plan, while other teams (The Bulls, for instance), playing by the rules had no such chance. Dwight is back in play.
  9. Chris_Broussard Chris Broussard Dwight Howard met with NJ owner Mikhail Prokhorov & GM Billy King Thurs night in Miami, sources say. Orlando was unaware if meeting Apparently, NBA players just cannot avoid Miami or LA. It's physically impossible for them to not be in either location every chance they get.
  10. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) Well, my point still stands. he'll walk at the end of the year and sign with somebody else. Ok, then, the NBA clearly does not want the Hornets to default. Hence not letting them do so. They want the team to retain value for a possible suitor.
  11. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 11:00 AM) I'm putting on my tinfoil hat here. CP3's trade was nixed by the league, he'll leave as a free agent and sign with the Lakers after the season. So either trade him and get players back, or let him walk for nothing. Could Stern be ACTIVELY trying to screw over the hornets so they can fold it? Just a thought. I don't believe the Lakers would be able to sign CP3 as a free agent.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 10:49 AM) 5 Reasons the Bulls Should Avoid Dwight Howard The reasons are all pretty terrible, btw. My favorite part- Yet dominated the Bulls...

  14. Oh look, an adult who carries on with his life and will wind up where he winds up.
  15. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 10:06 AM) Meanwhile, not a murmur from our Bulls I am so painfully used to this.
  16. I was pretty happy to see Hossa finally net 400 since he was stuck on 399 for so long. Hopefully now he can get back to dominating.
  17. johnhollinger John Hollinger One other note: I'd rather play out the year with Dwight Howard than take that pile of garbage New Jersey is offering.
  18. Brandon Roy is expected to soon announce his retirement due to a degenerative knee condition, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard. That's just so unfortunate.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 08:59 AM) Lakers acquire superstar Rose in 3-way"blockbuster," Odom, Scola, Martin, draft pick in the 20's to the Bulls. We'd be ready to bomb the UC. I'd slit my wrists, but Derrick Rose isn't demanding a trade and refusing to sign an extension in the final year of his deal. Honestly, if I knew Rose was gone, and I could get Odom, Scola, Martin and a late 1st, I'd be happier than entering another situation similar to 99-03.
  20. I'm coming around on this given the special scenario that the league's owners each owns part of the Hornets. F*ck it, send Dwight to New Jersey, and find me some information about Jason Richardson coming to the Bulls.
  21. The league could simply stop all this horses*** by not allowing players to sign extensions with new teams if traded in the final year of their deal. The team acquiring said player is guaranteed at least another year after the acquiring year, in that scenario. If you abolish the extension in the final year, then the player becomes a free agent... in this case teams that area already loaded would be too close to the cap or over the cap to make an offer on the players. If I'm the Bulls, and Dwight requests a trade the final year he can (with one year remaining in said scenario), it makes way more sense to toss a huge package with the hopes you can win in those two seasons and he can be convinced that Chicago is pretty great, and so is Rose. Yes, this would be the perfect fix to the situation.
  22. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 08:31 AM) Actually, I believe it will severely hurt the league int he long run. Smaller market, or less privileged teams will be treated as "feeders" to the larger markets. This is how it works in the MLB. Now Dwight is forcing his way to NJ. Man, whatever happened to requesting a trade to multiple teams to help the franchise that has paid you for the first 7 years of your career out? Give them a f***ing LIST, man.
