  1. The NBPA has reportedly approved the new Collective Bargaining Agreement. It's become an afterthought among a frenzy of trade rumors and free agent handshake agreements, but the new CBA hasn't technically been ratified. The owners will soon vote on the CBA and the stage is now set for free agency and training camp to begin simultaneously on Friday, as planned.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 04:40 PM) The one thing I hate is how quiet the Bulls are. The knicks, lakers, heat and Celtics are all over the news trying to upgrade their teams, the Bulls are nowhere to be found. This bothers me a lot It's driving me mad and has been their MO for years. Always afraid of the big move. Apparently, they want Dwight, but they need to realize there shant be a Dwight.
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 03:42 PM) I'm not getting back into it. I put it in quotes in order to avoid confrontation.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) Should the Bulls attempt to block? I think blocking Chauncey Billups would be a bad idea, given our best player is a PG. His range would be nice, but no.
  5. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) Looks like the Knicks got a bargain on Tyson Chandler at 4 years and 58 million. Thrifty SOB's. Oh that is so bad. Tyson and Eddy... bad contracts on the Knicks at one point.
  6. @blakegriffin: Hey guys I just got traded... @blakegriffin: Stupid autocorrec. I meant say I just got to Trader Joes, the grocery store. Gonna do some shopping. LOL, he rocks.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 03:52 PM) Apparently, just because the Bulls lucked into Derrick Rose, it doesn't make them any less the Bulls. I am lowering my expectations. They'll end up with Jamal Crawford, and it will be a trainwreck. nm, annoying non-tweet false post report
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 03:55 PM) It is in his title He probably hasn't updated that since they acquired him last year.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 03:51 PM) ORLANDO? When did they get money? He was already on Orlando. Also, I have to imagine Gilbert is being amnestied.
  10. Apparently, just because the Bulls lucked into Derrick Rose, it doesn't make them any less the Bulls. I am lowering my expectations. They'll end up with Jamal Crawford, and it will be a trainwreck.
  11. @ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix With Tyson Chandler on the verge of signing w/NY, Miami is looking into ways of acquiring Chauncey Billups, league sources tell SI. This is not the least-bit surprising.
  12. KCJHoop K.C Johnson Gotta believe CButler's deal will drive JRich above midlevel. Whether he'd sign for less--and whether #Bulls offer it--remains to be seen.
  13. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 02:11 PM) It's hardly hate. Not to get back into this, but it's the Buehrle defenders taking it as hate. It's merely a statement on how we view it as "hypocrisy". But without an offer from either of his preferred team, using the term "hypocrisy" is "moronic".
  14. Not having Butler doesn't upset me, as he wasn't a fit. The fear is we wind up with Jamal Crawford or Vince Carter. The absolute best (of the realistic scenarios) fit would be Jason Richardson. He's still in play.
  15. Chris_Broussard Chris Broussard Multiple sources confirm @KBergCBS report that NYK making strong run at Ty Chandler..would have to amnesty Billups This would be a nightmare. The Knicks would basically hand the Heat Billups... their new PG and a gunner from 3 point range.
  16. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 12:48 PM) Didn't seem to bother Mark at all. I dont see it though, Pujols had value because of their Latin market. Rumor is that they will try and trade Sanchez for pitching and move LoMo to 1B. We have latin players. They should acquire Ramirez... 3 shortstops is better than 2!
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 12:45 PM) I would have assumed Mark would have been the FA to say that, not Wilson. That would make sense if he signed say, with the Cardinals?
  18. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 08:42 PM) I did it because they refused to get rid of a cancer that was voluntarily throwing games. They've cured themselves of that and are actually trying again (in the long term). I'm much more likely to go to more games this year for that very reason. You and I realized early on that Ozzie was no longer interested in winning.
  19. At least the Marlins have Ozzie!!
  20. I don't see how bond can be set for someone who so obviously is a danger to society.
  21. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 12:43 PM) Did they only use the minimum on Battier? I haven't seen terms of the agreement anywhere. If they can still use their MLE on filling a bigger need, that'd make it look a lot better, but I got the impression that Shane was in demand. Apparently players seem to throw the want to make money out the window to play in Miami, but rarely anywhere else. Pat Riley.
  22. If the Bulls made a legit move at SG, that'd render Shane freakin' Battier irrelevant. That team is buck nasty on defense, though. I hope Eddy Curry sees a lot of time so people can score at will down low.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 10:47 AM) You mean like telling people they shouldn't care at all about the favorite players on their favorite team, even after 11 years? Way to change the statement. Of course you can care about the players. You shouldn't condemn them for doing something good for their careers.
  24. QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 10:18 AM) your business is trolling a message board? ugh. I'm sorry for the life choices that brought you to this point. alright, you win. 87k posts and it took you that long!?!?
  25. Caron Butler would be an awesome fit if he were the Caron Butler of 5 years ago. That dude is gonezo, however.
