QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 07:30 AM) I keep telling people he is not as smart as people think. In fact.. I can't stand him. Think the media/certain people overrate him. My opinion on him has changed recently. When he really puts the time and effort into something, it's great (see "The Book of Basketball"). Since Grantland has rolled around, he's been churning out hot garbage. When the site first launched they needed content, so his article quality suffered. Now with this "12 Days of NBA Christmas", he's again just churning out trash and throwing numbers out there and contradicting himself time and time again.

Brett Favre is willing to listen to the Bears

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 08:00 AM) Seriously, when is the last time the Bears didn't sell out a game? 1983 -
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 11:47 PM) Well, I'm assuming if I was to work in Portland, I'd cover the Blazers and Oregon/Oregon State sports. You'd have a lot of fun, and getting high and drinking really high quality booze would not be an issue. Plus, location.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 11:36 PM) based on the few people i know that live there, i think marijuana is legal The economy there is actually crumbling.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 11:33 PM) Anyone care to share what's so awesome about Portland? Honestly, it only missed my list due to it's lack of professional sports teams save NBA. I've been there twice, and it is amazing.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 10:50 PM) Never understood the weather argument. You're signing a 4 year deal for tens of millions of dollars and you can live wherever you want in the offseason. Who gives a s***, why would anyone on earth want to play for the Clippers? The season is in the winter. Sure, you are on the road half the time, but if you can have a swanky pad, at home, off the beach, vs... say off frozen Lake Michigan? It's not much of a contest. Now, Derrick Rose and the whole ADIDAS thing would be a matchup in heaven for Dwight, but methinks a baller who probably can't multiply doesn't really think on many levels other than party, money, paradise.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 02:24 PM) What is it about this team that shouts bottom of the AL Central? Every team in our division is incredibly flawed. Couple that with not moving your family, having no trade rights and retiring after this last contact. Yes. What is it about the team that shouts first in the AL Central? The Tigers aren't going anywhere and will remain incredibly strong. Couple that with the Wild Card routinely going to the AL East, and all the sudden 2nd - 5th in the AL Central don't really matter.

QUOTE (JoshPR @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 02:04 PM) WHAT THE FU....????? Damn. This analysis is clutch.

QUOTE (spiderman @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 01:06 PM) Chicago Tribune Scouting Report This report is less than flattering - basically says the Sox over overrating this guy because the guy they got from Toronto likes him, and that he projects as a back of the rotation starter. Yes. Phil Rodgers clearly knows more about this kid than the former Blue Jays' scout. 148 ks vs 18 bbs tells me the scout knows more.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:57 PM) I am amazed (but not really) at the stupidity of this fan base. We have an inability to think logically about something. Instead, we overreact with the first thought that comes to our head. What's the LAST thing a rebuilding team needs? A closer. What's the first thing a rebuilding team needs? Pitching prospects. I feel sorry for KW because it is impossible to win with these fans. He guys and buys, and we b**** about not having a system. He sells and builds the system, and we b**** about moving our MLB pieces. PICK ONE! Preach.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:39 PM) Everyone ripping on the return. Remember what usually happens when KW gets his guy Danks, Floyd, Quentin etc. Who is "everyone"? I adore it. Trade these idiots. Molina will be a stud, mark my words.
-
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:17 PM) Sounds like KW has a list of prospects from around the league that he really likes, and it basing his trade negotiations off that list. It almost seems like he's calling teams saying "How can I get Prospect X? Anything is on the table." I absolutely adore this strategy given the current situation.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:13 PM) CST_soxvan Daryl Van Schouwen Don't see any deals for (danks, floyd) because not satisfied with offers Posturing.
-
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) Danks/Floyd/Sale/Stewart/Molina could be pretty darn good. And overall, young. Danks would be gone before this materialized.
-
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:05 PM) Sale, Molina and Stewart should all be in our rotation in 2013. I love the sounds of this.
-
QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) From that it sounds like his peak would be a no 3. Interesting, from the conclusion "With average to above-average stuff and otherworldly command, he should at least be an innings-eater and could be a very good #2 starter."
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 11:56 AM) Yeah but when you say trade everyone you are bound to hit on one. Don't be jealous.
-
I love it. Sell high on a closer before paying him (always a bad idea), and Molina will clearly wind up in our rotation at some point.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 11:52 AM) Didnt see this one coming. Addison Reed should be getting a chance to close next year, not bad. Marty did.
-
QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 11:51 AM) A move for the future, or is this guy ML ready? He's only had 22 innings in AA ball, but 33 k's in those innings is awesome. The Score is hating on this trade, but f*** if I care about Santos, and this kid seems to have some nasty s***.
