  1. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 27, 2011 -> 04:05 AM) e.g could they could sign an up and coming PF for the MLE, or go for a cheaper option such as David West? I'd urge Zoomslowik to post, but I do believe they could offer something like this to David West if they amnestied Carlos Boozer. The issue here is eating $60.6 million remaining on his contract. That is just absolutely not going to happen.
  2. The Bernie Fine case just got taken up another notch with his wife being recorded absolutely admitting to everything he's done.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 26, 2011 -> 09:35 PM) I'm not saying kick him to the curb. But if he's your second option, you're in trouble come playoffs. He's so easy to expose. I can't stand him. This is true. The Bulls' "2nd option" is pretty much a committee. I would love to see them finally address the 2. It seemed last year at the deadline they were more than ready but couldn't get a deal done without moving way too much. This tells me they won't go status quo and we'll see a lot of rumors/attempts leading up to FA opening on the 9th.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 26, 2011 -> 09:12 PM) He's borderline horrific now. A jump-shooting PF that plays no defense and goes into seclusion against athletic front-courts. He's turrible The playoffs were absolutely horrific. Remember, he was injured (but again, we expect this with Boozer). The Bulls, even with the way Taj played last year in spurts, aren't really in a position where they can kick a guy who averaged 18 points and 10 boards over the course of the season on 51% shooting to the curb. Maybe that assbag can even not trip over some luggage, participate in training camp like the rest of the NBA, and get back to the numbers he had the year prior (20/11/56%). Yeah. Can't kick that guy to the curb... even if he was captain frustration last year.
  5. One interesting nugget I read is the fact that the amnesty clause need not be used by teams in year one. In fact, they can use the clause, one time only, at any point during the CBA. This benefits the Bulls, because as is you want Boozer on the team this year and maybe next, because when healthy he can get you quick buckets. However, at the end of the deal (the final two years), when we can all expect him to be horrific... bye bye Boozie.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 26, 2011 -> 08:46 PM) Does he get both though? Why wouldn't he?
  7. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 26, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) Yeah, I can't wait to see how seriously Nene and Marc Gasol get overpaid while the owners claim that they fixed the system. Oh yes, absolutely no doubt about it.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 26, 2011 -> 08:19 PM) Nobody's going to overpay Rashard Lewis...again. Versus what his value is, I'd say it's almost a guarantee that Lewis gets overpaid again, while also pocketing the $30 million owed to him on his contract still.
  9. What's truly sad is that Rashard Lewis will get amnestied, and then get a pretty solid payday.
  10. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 26, 2011 -> 02:59 PM) I've had my fill of Kirk Hinrich jogging around the baseline aimlessly. He doesn't even fit what we need at the 2 (assuming we keep Bogans as a reserve). Well, he's not ideal, but he's basically a much better version of Bogans who can also run the offense for the few MPG Rose is sitting.
  11. Quickest/simplest rumor would be that the Hawks will stupidly NOT use amnesty on Joe Johnson, but instead use on Kirk, who would take Bogans' spot on the roster and be an immense upgrade. However, so much s*** will go down. I truly expect the Bulls to bring in a legit shooter to play the 2.
  12. "The Descendants" - 7 / 10 Good story.
  13. Apparently the Cowboys and Jerry Jones's wallet were worried about a Bears with Orton scenario, as they also placed a claim.
  14. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 01:55 PM) It's always good to have a backup plan. They might THINK they'll get Orton, but the moment they find out another team took him, they can have McCown on a plane. We should know in an hour or so.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 01:42 PM) why would they sign clemmons and orton? WFAIL more like. Yeah, I'd think they'd wait. If the Bears are looking at McCown, then that clearly means they believe a team like KC has claimed Orton.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 11:18 AM) Reading yesterday, it was more like $1.4 million for the rest of teh season for Orton. link
  17. Just before X-Mas in 2006 KW dealt B-Mac for John Danks (and Nick Massett). Will he send Danks out sometime in the next month?
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 23, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) The last thing the Bears want to admit is that they have a bad back up QB. Dude, they had Todd Collins last year. They are saying all the right things, such as the "Hanie will start and Orton will backup" stories that are being leaked. That's what you say, because if KC claims him (highly likely) you can't have Hanie thinking he was going to get replaced and they have zero confidence in him. Hanie probably starts this weekend regardless, but if the Bears are awarded the claim on Orton, he will absolutely be starting against the Chiefs at home the following week. The question is, do the Chiefs want to blow $2.5 million with a 4-6 record? You'd think they'd look at all their injuries (DB's, Charles, Cassell, etc) and chalk it up, but who knows.

    QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 09:35 PM) Is anyone else sensing that Dexter and Deb are starting to have some adult touchy feely feelings for each other? Uh, no. Uh, not at all. Uh, brother and sister and just divorced IRL. Again, uh, no.
