vxmcclure23 vaughn mcclure Can confirm Jay Glazer's report that the Bears will attempt to claim Kyle Orton, league source tells me. Glazer is normally right about everything. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 04:44 PM) If Warner could stand in the pocket I would take him immediately. Probably too old and out of shape though. He's not out of shape, he looks great, he's just very much done with his playing days. -

The details of this CBA, and what MLB was able to work out... so intricate and game-altering... really makes me shake my head at the NBA.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 12:02 PM) JeffPassan Jeff Passan Sources: Cubans under 23 years old and with less than three years in pro ball will be considered "amateurs" and count against int'l bonus $. Viciedo just makes the cut.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) Among a TON of new changes in the CBA (mostly draft related, and it's a lot), instant replay was also expanded. Now, after the empire confer, there will be reviews on fair/foul balls and "trap" plays. As for what will happen to the runners on foul balls that are ruled fair, I have no idea, but here is my humble solution.... Just my opinion, but I think the runners should get 2 bases, the batter should get 1. I realize there are probably a lot of plays where the batter probably could have made 2nd base, but having a foul ball called fair and getting 1 base is better than having a foul ball called foul and getting no bases. The baserunners, however, almost always have an advantage running because of their leadoff and the fact that they are in a running position, not swinging a bat. Not perfect at all, but IMO it's a decent compromise. Conferring with the Empire is going to take FOREVER.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) Yeah thats the information I read which is why I believed Detroit could claim first. The Lions have a fine backup QB and I doubt want to burn over a million bucks to block a waiver claim that may or may not be beneficial to a rival club. Come on, they aren't Kenny Williams. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) To me, Dale is the main voice of reason and the most reasonable and intelligent. To me, Dale is a whiny f***.

BradBiggs Brad Biggs With #Bears 30th in waiver wire, would be very surprised if they claimed Kyle Orton. They could negotiate own contract w/ him if he clears ^that's an interesting point. -

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) As average as Orton is, do we REALLY want to have the Orton vs Cutler debate by meatballs? The day this team starts making moves based on what meatballs will or won't say is the day I swear off of NFL football. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 03:48 PM) Who cares about inking him to a deal right now. Worry about such things in the offseason. The Bears need a body who can throw the ball in the backup QB slot. it's really that simple. No s***, Sherlock. The added bonus is that you could make him your franchise backup moving forward, something that would be really valuable to a team that has seen its starter go down so often. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) Really you almost have to bring him back, even if the system has changed. You need the depth anyway Yeah, it'd be nice to have a legitimate backup option moving forward if you can ink him to a deal. If that report out of Denver is correct and Kyle likes it here, let him take the helm until Jay's healthy and sign him up to a reasonable backup rate and stop the joke that is backup QB play in Chicago. -

"Hell on Wheels" is pretty great. There is some fantastic acting in that show.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 02:16 PM) Seriously? We obviously disagree strongly here. Every character, minus Daryl, has gotten worse in the second season. But, Dale is still towards the top of the heap for me. I like Shane and Daryl. Honestly, what has Dale brought to the table this year? "No, you can't have the gun", lots of whining and complaining, "oh I'm sorry you didn't get the gun, here", "don't shoot!", "it's ok you shot Daryl". He's brought zilch. None of these s*** characters has save Daryl. This really is a completely terrible show... I have no idea why I still watch it.

This thread just makes me more excited that Ozzie is gone. As bad as I predict Robin's tenure here to be, he can't hurt the team as much as Ozzie did with one foot out the door this year.
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) He let her off the hook for shooting Daryl because he is in love with her. Dale is one of 3 good characters on the show. Dale is one of the worst characters on the show.
