QUOTE (Felix @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 06:45 PM) Are you f***ing kidding? That is a serious shame. It's been getting better and better as this season has progressed. Some of the last few have been some of the strongest in the series. Ridiculous. Agreed. Its been as great as season 1 lately.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 04:16 PM) Why do you say anything about him "Figuring it out"? He nearly destroyed his leg. That's his excuse, there was no "3 years of minor league struggling" or anything like that. He hit .278 or above and put up a .350 or above OBP at every minor league stop since A-ball in 2004. He made it to the big leagues at age 23. He then destroyed a leg. He did not play baseball at all while he was age 24. He returned at age 25. Since returning to baseball at age 25, he has hit over .300 with solid overall numbers, OBP, and slugging, 3 years in a row, at AAA. He has hit at every level since high-A ball, he has put up consistent numbers, the only time he needed to show that he "Figured something out" was when he broke into the big leagues at age 23. In that case, he was given under 200 at bats to figure things out because of a career-threatening injury. Yeah, he could still implode, but we have got to give this guy a chance. I can buy in with this.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) Yesterday was a bad day to be a QB named "Matt". Matt Hasselbeck just called you "stupid". I heard it.
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 03:54 PM) I think the goal is to create enough confusion to get the fans of NL teams to finally accept the DH. I'd rather have it the other way around, honestly. Though obviously I'm a "die Sox White fan", I greatly enjoy the strategy that comes with the pitcher hitting in the NL.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) Better than Breaking Bad? Or are you saying "currently" on TV? You do seem to jump from one show to another kind of quickly Currently on air. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) I haven't watched the show yet (I plan on it), but wouldn't the CIA have pretty strict standards and not allow a person on anti-psychotics to be employed by them? Watch the show.
  7. I really don't see how you can have interleague on a daily basis and still expect to have each league playing by different rules.
  8. Jesus Christ in a motherf***ing dumptruck. Fifty million bucks for a god-damned relief pitcher. The Phillies and anyone else who spends that kind of cash for 60-some odd innings a year need to all burn in hell.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 12:14 AM) And I'd beat the brakes off his ass. OOOOOOOOOOOooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh GOOOOOOD for YOUUU
  10. With the NBA season dead, it's time to dive head first into NCAA basketball for the first time in my life instead of ignoring it until late February.
  11. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 02:39 PM) Andrew Luck, huh? Do the Colts entertain offers on Peyton, then? There are two definites. If Peyton Manning is healthy, he should obviously be playing, and Andrew Luck should not sit on a bench somewhere for four years. I tell you what, the Jets would probably mortgage about 3 season's worth of 1st rounders for the instant title consideration they'd have by acquiring Peyton Manning.
  12. 27 year old rookies (or close to it) don't tend to all the sudden figure it out. However, I think Scotty Pods was even older than that when he broke through, and he enjoyed a decent prime. This is definitely going to be a "wait and see" situation.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 02:51 PM) Does she have any idea of how suspicious this is going to look? Or how it compromises her integrity? I just can't get over his ignorance. Remember, Carrie's not exactly all there. She's on anti-psychotics and clearly on many occasions has lacked proper judgement. I think it's entirely appropriate given what we've been told about her character.
  14. So here's a question. If all contracts are voided, what does that mean if/when the league comes back? Will teams still hold restrictions on players who were under contract previously?
  15. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 02:11 PM) Him, Ray, and a few other can get masters. Oh yeah.
  16. Steve9347 replied to Kyyle23's topic in SLaM
'Homeland' seriously is the best show on television.
  17. What a bunch of complete f***ing idiots.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 12:32 PM) No big surprise there after needing emergency surgery. Ugh. Just when the O-line is looking decent again. This is hopefully where we'll find out that Carimi is ready to play on Sunday.
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 10:01 AM) So, the US Today leaked the proposal. It doesn't look bad. It's in the players hands and my guess is, they f*** it up. KG will yell and be angry and then go hang in his mansion.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 10:25 AM) It did my heart good to hear the "Detroit Sucks" chant in the 4th quarter. Oh yes... a little of the UC coming out in Soldier Field.
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 06:54 PM) Bears have had one of the toughest schedules to date. The fact that we're 6-3 right now is impressive. Now comes the run where we get to dominate the sh*tty AFC West.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 07:48 AM) Any word on Seabrooks injury? It looked bad from the angle on TV. This is the NHL. Thus "lower body injury" and "he will be evaluated".

QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 06:52 AM) I only listen to a couple but one thing that frustrates me is not being able to fast forward or rewind while using my iPod. Are there better programs for listening to podcasts? Either for an iPad or Android phone? Mediafly is f***ing awesome.
  24. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) If Buehrle signed with Detroit, would you hope for his success? I certainly wouldn't hope for him to get injured. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) "Against everyone except us!" except there is no us, there is a baseball team and their lack of knowledge of you, personally, Steve9347. Sure, you're ticket broker knows who you are, but does Mark Buehrle care? Does Brent Lillibridge care? Does Dylan Axelrod care? Does Brooks Boyer even care? How about Minnesota? Cleveland? Kansas City? Boston? New York? Yomiuri? Miami? Probably not Miami. You're used to stars spurning Chicago for the "bright lights" of Miami now, aren't you? None of this really makes any sense. The White Sox don't give a damn about me, either. Mark Buehrle has been a blast to follow. Wishing injury upon him was one of the dumbest things I've read on this message board, and there's been a lot... this includes my guaranteeing that LeBron James wouldn't fly to Miami with his tail between his legs to become Dwyane Wade's b****. That shocked me, and I still think it was a moronic move for "King James" to become a sidekick. I still don't see how predictions = being a jackass and hoping injury upon Mark Buehrle if he spurns a team that's clearly on the decline for a free agency payday. It's the real world, and I certainly don't think everything the White Sox do is great and every human out there who says something negative about the franchise is an idiot. I also certainly would never wish injury upon a man who helped the White Sox win a World Series, has web gems galore, slides on the tarp on rainy days (even if it is moronic), has a no-hitter and a Perfect Game, and is an upstanding citizen. Apparently, this is the line you draw between you being super awesome stats Sox fan, and my just being a baseball fan who loves the White Sox and can take some pleasure in also rooting for players. You're acting like an Indians' fan that boos Jim Thome.
  25. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) Considering you are the king of hyperbole, this post is hilariously ironic. I can name countless examples, but I have no need. Ace, as far as I'm aware, still has it in his sig. Has what in his sig? That I was wrong thinking LeBron James wasn't a gigantic p****? How is that relevant. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) I can go on a giant rant about "how I've been on the internetz longerz then u bro" and "I'm such a hardcore fan that I knew Adam Dunnz was gonnaz turn it aroundz" but no. I'm the terrible fan. I don't even know what you are talking about, here. This might be the lamest sentence I've ever seen written on "the internetz". I hoped Dunn would turn it around, and I'm still shocked he fell on his face. Being wrong about things =/= being a jackass who hopes injury on a guy like Mark Buehrle. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) I'm the terrible fan. At least you can admit it.
