QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 06:52 AM) I only listen to a couple but one thing that frustrates me is not being able to fast forward or rewind while using my iPod. Are there better programs for listening to podcasts? Either for an iPad or Android phone? Mediafly is f***ing awesome.
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) If Buehrle signed with Detroit, would you hope for his success? I certainly wouldn't hope for him to get injured. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) "Against everyone except us!" except there is no us, there is a baseball team and their lack of knowledge of you, personally, Steve9347. Sure, you're ticket broker knows who you are, but does Mark Buehrle care? Does Brent Lillibridge care? Does Dylan Axelrod care? Does Brooks Boyer even care? How about Minnesota? Cleveland? Kansas City? Boston? New York? Yomiuri? Miami? Probably not Miami. You're used to stars spurning Chicago for the "bright lights" of Miami now, aren't you? None of this really makes any sense. The White Sox don't give a damn about me, either. Mark Buehrle has been a blast to follow. Wishing injury upon him was one of the dumbest things I've read on this message board, and there's been a lot... this includes my guaranteeing that LeBron James wouldn't fly to Miami with his tail between his legs to become Dwyane Wade's b****. That shocked me, and I still think it was a moronic move for "King James" to become a sidekick. I still don't see how predictions = being a jackass and hoping injury upon Mark Buehrle if he spurns a team that's clearly on the decline for a free agency payday. It's the real world, and I certainly don't think everything the White Sox do is great and every human out there who says something negative about the franchise is an idiot. I also certainly would never wish injury upon a man who helped the White Sox win a World Series, has web gems galore, slides on the tarp on rainy days (even if it is moronic), has a no-hitter and a Perfect Game, and is an upstanding citizen. Apparently, this is the line you draw between you being super awesome stats Sox fan, and my just being a baseball fan who loves the White Sox and can take some pleasure in also rooting for players. You're acting like an Indians' fan that boos Jim Thome.
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) Considering you are the king of hyperbole, this post is hilariously ironic. I can name countless examples, but I have no need. Ace, as far as I'm aware, still has it in his sig. Has what in his sig? That I was wrong thinking LeBron James wasn't a gigantic p****? How is that relevant. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) I can go on a giant rant about "how I've been on the internetz longerz then u bro" and "I'm such a hardcore fan that I knew Adam Dunnz was gonnaz turn it aroundz" but no. I'm the terrible fan. I don't even know what you are talking about, here. This might be the lamest sentence I've ever seen written on "the internetz". I hoped Dunn would turn it around, and I'm still shocked he fell on his face. Being wrong about things =/= being a jackass who hopes injury on a guy like Mark Buehrle. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:34 AM) I'm the terrible fan. At least you can admit it.
  4. The whole league is so stupid, players and owners, to not build off the hype of last year. Oh, and Nazr Mohammed is the most disconnected person in the world to try to convince people they can make more money with a s***ty degree than players in the NBA D-League. F*ck him.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 10:18 PM) When that s*** happened to me I would always try to restart from a point when I knew things were working correctly, or if that didn't work, I would uninstall and reinstall Windows. That's my recommendation. Last known good configuration, baby.
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 05:44 PM) It has to be a new guy over the last few years, as the guy who did it forever before that died. Hell, comedian Pablo Francisco could do it easily based on his standup routine. I haven't looked it up, but I'm fairly convinced this trailer voice Guy of late is Mac's dad from Sunny.
  7. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 11:43 AM) Why? We're fans of the team, not the players. It stands to reason that we would be angry with a former player if he were to sign with a hated rival (or the team now managed by the guy that forced his way off of the team by sabotaging its most recent season). Sorry. I'm not made to just hope injury upon someone if they leave after all the entertainment Mark has provided. That's just idiotic.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 06:37 AM) f*** that. He signs with a team in the AL Central, the Yank Sawx (that's two teams), or the Marlins, and I hope that shoulder finally f***ing gives and his fastball only reaches 78. I love Mark Buehrle to death, but those are the 7 teams I do not want him signing with and I will hope for him to fail any time he pitches with those teams. That's just pathetic and makes you a terrible fan.
  9. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 11:12 AM) Registration for the "Rock and Roll Half Marathon" 7/22/12 opens today (11/11/11) and you can save $20 by signing up today only. http://www.chicagonow.com/pace-of-chicago/...ted-today-only/ Has anyone run this before. Is it well organized? How's the swag? I have a friend who ran it and said it's terribly run and poorly organized. Everyone was late last year, and there were only like 11 bands throughout the course so the music wasn't consistent. Based on that feedback, I registered for the Chicago Half Marathan next September this morning.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 07:22 AM) That being said, I can't blame Rivers too much for the loss last night. That O-line is so banged up, he barely had any time to throw the ball. That 4th quarter INT was all on Vincent Jackson, as he didn't even try for the ball.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 10:25 PM) CSN just threw the figure of 4 years $60 million out there. That's the dumbest s*** I have ever heard.
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 08:12 PM) I don't even know how I'd react to him in another uniform. It'd be too f***ing weird.
  13. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 02:33 PM) Space. Oooo this made me giggly.
  14. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) I realize Columbus is terrible, but a win is a win, let's hope they got some confidence back. Agreed fully.

    2011 TV Thread

Community was hilarious for the third straight week. Parks & Rec was solid, not their best of the year.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) If you took shacks pov, he could be prepping to sue penn state for wrongful termination. That wouldn't require a defense lawyer. However, he'd be a complete buffoon to NOT be hiring a lawyer. That doesn't mean he did anything illegal. However, we all know he f***ed up. Barry Switzer said it best and supported many views here: http://newsok.com/penn-state-tragedy-barry...dline_ou-sports
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 05:58 PM) Ugh. To give the police a pass here, but to condemn Paterno...I just can't understand this. There's a difference. The police are told a 50 something man was in the football showers with a boy. Showering. Old man grew up in an era where that was customary. He admits his mistake, mom doesn't press charges, what's next? Nothing. Paterno is told that this man is having sex with an 8 year old in the showers. He let's the President know, and they both apparently cover it up and do not seek any sort of justice or do anything to alert the proper authorities in the case of such an incredibly terrible crime. Comparing both situations is impossible.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 05:54 PM) Yes I did, Steve. The police heard him admit that he showered with a young boy, lathered him up, and bear-hugged him. He then apologized and said he knew he was wrong and that he wished he was dead. The police heard him say all this. Not sure what facts I had wrong unless you are arguing with me characterization of this behavior as molestation. Jeez, are you badger now? Your argument was that the authorities failed in 1998, so Paterno's inaction in 2002 (to much more heinous accusations) made no difference. I simply state that upon hearing of these gross allegations, his going to the authorities, in fact, would have mattered. Of course both are molestation as you present them, but Sandusky only admitted to showering with the boy in 1998, and nothing else.
  19. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 05:33 PM) Why the f*** won't the search bar in the PDF find anything? That would make this much easier. The text is not highlightable. Drove me nuts the other day as I had to re-type a few paragraphs to quote in here.
  20. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) Oh, so here is where you arbitrarily decide that it's simple to read into a situation?
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 05:28 PM) Yeah that's a bit different, I blocked a lot of this from my mind. Did he admit to doing this, or only to showering with the kid? Showering is all he admitted to doing.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 05:25 PM) I'm not sure where I am wrong, Steve. You didn't even have your facts straight.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 05:18 PM) Did the police not eavesdrop on Sandusky confessing to showering with the boy? This is where you admit you are wrong.
  24. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 04:55 PM) Steve, it is my understanding that the police heard Sandusky tell the mother of a young boy that he did indeed molest him, and was sorry for it. They did not hear "about" it. They heard it come directly out of his mouth. You need to check your facts. You've been arguing without knowing the facts. Sandusky didn't admit anything and apologized for "showering" with the kid in 1998.
  25. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 04:36 PM) Why don't you finally answer how you know for sure that Paterno reporting anything to the police is going to result in Sandusky going to jail when the police heard Sandusky admit to molesting a child and the DA did not prosecute him? Well, your facts are wrong. The police "heard" about the 1998 incident, and were told Sandusky simply showered with a boy. The stakes were raised when first-hand witness knowledge tells someone that a 57 year old man is raping an 8-year old in a shower. You hear this. You report this. Had the proper authorities been alerted, in this instance, Sandusky is in prison immediately, and Joe Paterno is a hero.
