QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 04:13 PM) Steve, NBA and MLB are apples and oranges. Im pretty sure that Robin can read stat sheets and make better decisions than Ozzie. I kinda typed that exact statement in the post you are replying to... had you used the QUOTE feature it'd be easy for people to read that. Robin was my guy. I was crushed when he turned his ankle backwards. I like him. I just wanted someone with experience and to feel like the team was headed in the right direction.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 03:50 PM) Translation: "I was looking for a cheap yes man" Absolutely. Hey, we've all been saying for years it's not too difficult to out-manage Ozzie. Someone with zero experience sure fits the bill. Apparently, having any coaching/managing experience is never too big an issue for Reinsdorf teams. I mean, look at how well it worked out with...

I love, love, love me some Robin Ventura, but talk about coming out of left field... er, third base.

I picture the warden from "Ernest Goes to Jail". Man, I was obsessed with Ernest movies as a kid.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 5, 2011 -> 08:01 PM) I'll never forget where I was when I heard Steve Jobs died. I was sitting on my Windows computer listening to my Zune HD. He influenced my life in so many ways. Jeez, man, why are you such a hater?

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 09:50 AM) I take it they shot it in Seattle? Yeah. The whole flick was great, but all the Seattle made me want to visit.

QUOTE (Jillian Michaels' Abs @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 09:43 AM) Did Adam Dunn strike out in his last AB of the season? I believe his first AB of the season was a K, too. What a way to bookend a miserable season. Dunn's first game this year... he was awesome. I thought the Sox would be unstoppable. That f***ing appendectomy ruined all of his momentum. -
Is Carlos Quentin going to be on this team in 2012?

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 09:54 AM) So it's one of those deals. We'll get some awesome talent in return cause he's an awesome power bat...but he's really just an average player and we're the only ones who know it? I'm not expecting anything remotely close to "awesome talent in return". -

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Oct 5, 2011 -> 08:27 PM) Only KW knows for sure, but it will be a crime if CQ is traded Have you even looked at Carlos Quentin's statistics? He's had one outlier season, the rest is highly-replaceable. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) You better be or I'll rain on your s***. See what I did there? You should see 50/50. It'll get you in a Seattle mood.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 09:02 AM) Green Bay was 8th in yards gained that 6-10 season and 5th in points. They weren't losing games because of their offense, they were losing them because they were 22nd in points given up. They had a 93.3 passer rating from their QB's, good for 6th in the league and right behind the Colts. They gave up 131 yards a game, and 4.6 yards per carry in the running game (26th in the league). Gave up over 2000 yards on the ground that year. They lost 10 games because they couldn't stop the run. They then proceeded to get a top 10 pick that they used to draft BJ Raji. BJ Raji has proven fairly adept at stopping the run. Suddenly their weakness is now a strength. You said it so well I can't bother to look up additional reasons why the Packers did not skip a beat going from Favre to Rodgers. Thank you. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 08:57 AM) Favre's last year he led them to a 13-3 season and the NFC Championship game. They lost in overtime by a FG. The following year the packers were 6-10. They might have projected Rogers to be a better player as Favre declined, but there's no way he could have been considered better at that particular time. Say it with me... Rodgers -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 08:52 AM) I've given up on it. Not enough laughs and the whole Maya Rudolph side plot is atrocious. To each his own. You are in a solid minority of people who didn't enjoy. Go listen to Pearl Jam and root for the Mariners already.

Up All Night is just solid every week. It also gives me a weekly dose of Will Arnett, which is a dream come true. Also, Modern Family has stepped their game back up. I thought it wasn't as funny in season 2, and season 3 has been on par with season 1 so far.

QUOTE (juddling @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 02:26 AM) As much as i'm liking this season of SOA, am I the only one having trouble with the blackmailing of Juice storyline? I mean the whole thing is built on Juice scared about the club finding out he's half black. I know at least once before they met another chapter who had a black guy in it. That plus the club has never had any major overtones of being racist. Maybe i'm missing something but I just wish this storyline would go away I keep thinking this as well. I feel like Juice could go to Jax/Clay, tell them everything about the cop and his being informed he's half-black (little white lie like he didn't know). I don't think they'd care, but who knows. Remember, as much as we like the Sons, they're very bad dudes! I'm really enjoying the show on the whole, though, per the usual.
