  1. To whoever says yes, please post so in here and your address so I can come to your home and kick you in the nuts. me ->
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 02:41 PM) Dude, I have tried to be polite with you here, but you are just being incredibly f***ing obtuse. MANY people in this thread have conceded that some players may be affected by the increased pressure to perform at home and the obvious human preference to not receive negative treatment. NOT ONE other than yourself has made the argument that this is a material or significant cause for the large disparity in record between home and road games. Your premise is f***ing stupid. Get over it already. damn it feels good to be a gangster
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 02:19 PM) I doubt it was in 2003. I was working at Blockbuster, that's all I remember. I'd always set the DirecTV to Comcast SportsNet (or FSC?) and remember it being a big story.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 01:25 PM) You and I both know it would have been mentioned by someone by now. I'm fairly confident I remember Konerko calling out the Big Hurt in 2003 or 2004 for some reason.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 11:24 AM) Your theory has too many holes. - Booing didn't start until June. - Only 2 players have been targeted by the booing, Rios and Dunn - Rios has better numbers at home than on the road - The pitching is worst at home even though pitchers aren't booed - The amount of booing is not even excessive. It happens a couple of ABs per week Not enough. The booing is clearly the reason the Sox stink at home. Our fans are terrible.
  6. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 11:37 AM) Hayden to Visit the Bears I like the sound of this. I hope we sign him to a reasonable deal. Jennings/Bowman scare me. Don't think we can have too many veteran talented CBs, especially in a division with Megatron, Greg Jennings, Driver, Devin Aromashadou and Juaquin Iglesias. Hayden would be a very nice addition to the Bears. I have very little trust in our CB depth, at the moment.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 10:56 AM) You have criticized Ozzie this year, should Oney start e-mailing you and tweeting you? "How many games have you ever won in the majors Steve?" I would love that.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 09:56 AM) So after spending the last 4 months trashing this team and it's manager you have a problem with this incredibly tame comment made by a sportscaster? No, what I was saying is I have no problem with Oney's response to Valentine's comment. Personally, say whatever you want about this s*** team, but for people to try to turn this into an anti-Oney thread (where it was headed) was silly.
  9. I don't mind the look of the stadium. It's pretty awesome. I do have a problem with bathrooms with only one door to them, however. I can't imagine the Bears playing in another location, though.
  10. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 09:52 AM) Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Bobby V was wrong here with the way he worded the comment. But also Oney is just a turd. Exactly. Oney's a turd, of course, but Valentine was the original turd.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 09:51 AM) Is it unusually disrespectful for a sportscaster though? Well, ok, I'll throw it back at you. If there's nothing wrong with him tweeting that, there's really nothing wrong with him receiving backlash with factual information from Oney.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 09:47 AM) That really doesn't strike me as anything excessive from Valentine given his job as a sportscaster. "Who's running that team?" Come on, that's just disrespectful. Had he said "Ozzie Guillen isn't doing a great job with that roster" then there's nil issue.
  13. Honestly, Valentine's tweet is the issue here. Ozzie at least has a World Series title, and Bobby Valentine clearly called him out with his tweet. I know it's the flavor of the millennium to rip on anything Oney Guillen, but in this case Valentine needs to be more diplomatic, given he's not just some nutty sportscaster, he is a former manager of the game. You just don't talk about other managers like that... there's a code. If Valentine wasn't already blackballed from the league comments like this will cement that status.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 04:39 AM) Maybe it's Anne Hathaway's glasses that don't do it??? Who is in that second picture? Looks like Maria Ozawa??? It looks like it's also Anne Hathaway. Possibly fan concept Photoshop job.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 09:04 AM) Daniel Craig has made plenty of good movies outside of Bond, his box office take is really irrelevant Daniel Craig is a great actor. He's man-crush worthy, if you will. I cannot control who goes to see what movies, but the man is a movie star (despite what Grantland tells you, Caulfield). The first starring role of his I can remember is 'Layer Cake', and I thought that movie was awesome. I first noticed him in 'Road to Perdition'... man has some acting chops. Anyway, 'The Girl' movie franchise is going to catapult him even higher, and I'd venture to say that being "James Bond" is enough to give the guy cred.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 7, 2011 -> 09:54 PM) Daniel Craig hasn't had a single successful movie (box-office wise) outside of the Bond franchise. 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' is assuredly going to change that.
  17. QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Aug 7, 2011 -> 11:18 PM) If they moved the team out of Chicago then they aren't really the Chicago Bears now, are they? They might as well become the Arlington Heights Staleys if you move them out of Soldier Field. Personally I don't see anything wrong with the stadium outside of the fact that the Park District and the Bears need to work on turning the grass into the new turf used. Though I agree the Bears should be on lakefront, plenty of teams don't technically play in the large cities with which they are associated.
  18. I thought about posting a similar topic, but couldn't bring myself to do it. I don't see Adam Dunn and Alex Rios magically breaking out of their extended slumps, and that's exactly what this team needs to catch a very hot Tigers team.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 7, 2011 -> 10:12 AM) He should continue hitting 4th. He's just so dangerous right now. Other teams are game-planning around him. He strikes the fear and passion of a thousand dragons into the hearts of all his opponents.
  20. I ordered a Zach Stewart jersey-shirt. White Sox fandom is a disease.
  21. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 7, 2011 -> 09:21 AM) Cowboys & Aliens was a lot of fun if you don't overanalyze it. I like these kinds of posts. It's like saying, "if you ignore the storyline and just look at the pretty colors, it's great!"

    2011 TV Thread

Heh. Bored at work on Friday afternoon. Had no idea that pretty much every character on Big Brother gets caught naked and a website has them all categorized. Jordan loves showing her bewbs.
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 06:55 AM) Buster_ESPN Buster Olney From Elias: NYY became third team in modern history to complete four-game sweep without allowing a walk. Others: '68 BOS, '05 Boston (AL). This team has given up. That statistic is brutal. I'd rather pull my pubes out one by one than watch any more White Sox f***ing baseball. I can't wait for a truly empty stadium to be featured and laughed at on Sportscenter in f***ing September. I feel bad for Paul Konerko and Mark Buehrle. F*ck everyone else, but those two are class acts and shouldn't be stuck with the rest of these bums.
  25. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 5, 2011 -> 08:19 AM) I don't go to Sox games because ticket prices have just gotten astronomically high. I'll pop the cash if the team is fun to watch. This year's team is awful to watch. I went to five games the first month, including dropping 23 f***ing dollars to park and tailgate in Lot G, but jesus H, I'm not burning that cash to watch this disaster with Alex Rios still loafing around in center with a DH who has a whopping 24 hits all season at home.
