  1. QUOTE (Sockin @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 01:51 PM) Peter Gammons just tweeted "Q" and thats it.... https://twitter.com/pgammo/status/96652551973376000
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 01:14 PM) All thought I think it means what you think it means.. I am having trouble computing this fragment...
  3. QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 01:47 PM) I think Danks has the talent to be a bonafide number 2 pitcher in the AL East. Ace not sure about. He's not even a bonafide number 2 in the AL Central...
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 12:55 PM) That's a ton for any player. Quentin has been a great player this year but he's not an upper echelon superstar where you completely destroy your farm. 2 of those players I can see but all 3? That seems a little too outrageous to me. Hope I'm wrong. One Domonic Brown is more than fair.
  5. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 12:22 PM) they waited a year too long to trade olsen IMO They couldn't even get a late draft pick for him last year, and probably won't get much, if anything, for him this year.
  6. Dom Brown would make me forget about Colby Rasmus swiftly.
  7. QUOTE (beck72 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 12:21 PM) The Phils beat writer in the article at least thinks any deal for Quentin would start with Brown, and then go up from there. If we got Domonic Brown I'd consider this season a win off the bat. Ozzie would also love him. I'd delete my sig immediately.
  8. Dude can block, but they better make up for his production with a Wide Receiver.
  9. ZachZaidman Zach Zaidman RT @michaelombardi: Chicago Bears signed tight end Matt Spaeth from the Steelers..

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) Bye bye, Evan. You pale skinned, b****. Nehemiah should have beat that p****'s ass.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 09:12 AM) I think we're nearing the point of no return with Rios where nobody can be sure what we're going to get out of him in 2012 or were he to be magically "reinserted" back into the starting line-up with a Quentin trade. It's almost starting to feel like the Swisher/Cabrera/Javy situations where you just had a feeling their days were numbered with the Sox. Their contracts were not near the albatross that is Rios's.
  12. QUOTE (The '05 Sound @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 02:27 AM) http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/...sen-sources-say Interesting. I do not want to see this happen at all since we would have no at the tight end position besides Kellen Davis, but it sounds like they gave Drew the go-ahead, but just did not want him to make it so public with an email. Edit: Idk if Cutler could handle a break up with his fiance and his best friend leaving the team all in the same month. This season is in jeopardy! I'd be annoyed with this since the Bears have no other options and also aren't addressing their receiving corps. I'd hoped they'd improve their roster, yet they are looking like they want to go status quo and run out there with a roster that lucked out with an easy playoff matchup and the healthiest season I've ever seen.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 08:12 AM) $5 mil is $4.95 mil more than he was worth last year. Change of scenery is often a good thing (just wait for Rasmus, Colby). This guy was the best defensive player in football just a couple seasons ago.
  14. God damn, New England is good. Albert Haynesworth, under Belichik, will probably be a God again (and not asked to play NT). The saddest part for anyone not rooting for the Pats? Haynesworth is only due $5 mill this year.
  15. 411-414 since the 2006 All-Star Break. Yeah, we have a ton of reasons to be frustrated with the quick fixes that have been going on the last half-decade.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 08:00 PM) In his one year with the Sox, Jackson was 11-9 with a 3.66 ERA. Not bad. Gavin Floyd has never had a season with an ERA that low. John Danks did once. Jackson was a lot better with the Sox than most realize. He was brilliant after acquisition last year, but this year, not so much. Maddeningly inconsistent and undependable.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 07:59 PM) And what exactly is a "power change up"? See: Foulke, Keith
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:58 PM) Then why did this particular discussion start with fathom saying "He'd be far superior offensively to Morel at 3b"? Let me jump into fathom's melon and figure that one out. Why don't you reply to his posts and ask him that question? Yes, I don't think there's any question that Gamel would hit better than Morel. However, he'd be an abomination fielding the hot corner on a consistent basis.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:56 PM) Ahead of Casey McGee and Josh Wilson at 3b? Here's a question for you. Which team has a worse OPS on the season at 3b, the White Sox or the Brewers? I'll give you a moment to ponder that since I'm typing the question. The Brewers have actually gotten less production at 3b than the White Sox have this year. They've gotten a .537 OPS out of their 3b spot, but they haven't used Gamel to replace that position. Brent Morel at 3b would be an upgrade of 30 points of OPS for them. So, Matt Gamel is not replacing Brent Morel for the Sox. I didn't list 3B because it's clear he shouldn't be playing 3b. You stick his ass in the outfield.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:55 PM) I think I'd rather get Brown. I'm just not as high on Beachy as everyone else. Ozzie would s*** himself with Brown.
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 01:09 PM) best lockout ever! This is what I never understand. These lockouts, no matter how long they last, cannot guard against stupid ownership.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:49 PM) Really, if there were no question about his offense, wouldn't he be in the majors already, at least moved to a new position? LF Braun 1B Prince RF Corey Hart DH - it's the NL Where exactly are you playing him, Balta? They've thrown him at 3rd a few times, but come on, not everything is as cut and dry as you always want it to be.
  23. I'd like to see this train keep rolling and the trades keep coming at this point. F*cking A, we could have had Colby Rasmus.
