6th place and back in the mix.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 08:29 AM) Oh, and the moment where Rose was dribbling the ball, the crowd started chanting MVP, he let them do 2-3 rounds of it, stepped back and nailed a jumper just inside the 3 point arc with under a minute? Priceless. TNT, as usual, was brilliant. As D-Rose stood thumping his chest entering the timeout, they showed Wade in the background glaring at Rose. Lord only knows what was going through his head, but his face said "this f*** stole my city".

That game was the ultimate in entertainment. You suck, Bosh.

It's as if I could see the future with the don't trade Omer talk.

White Sox Off-Season Catch All Thread

Not a work day went by this offseason that I did not check Soxtalk. Like 50 times. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 04:22 PM) I think you are way over-valuing Mayo. He is a headcase. His numbers have actually gone down as his career has moved on, instead of getting better. Even a team that needs young studs like Memphis dealt for for Josh McRoberts and a pick. Deal fell through. Just an FYI.

WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski As you'd expect, Celtics vets are livid over trade of Kendrick Perkins, sources say. He's the tough guy, enforcer. But BOS can't pay him.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 03:37 PM) My point is that Asik and Taj are roleplayers. Yes, roleplayers mean something and you need them to win. But they're worth the risk in acquiring a potential star. The Bulls are not going to beat Miami or Boston. And NY would be a 50/50 bet at this point since they have two superstars vs our one. You've got to get creative and think outside the box. Oof. I could not disagree more with this statement.

That is one cool collection.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) You can say the Bulls lucked into winning the lottery, but you cant deny that with the pick, they made the best selection. There are plenty of teams who had the #1 pick and did not get the best guy in the draft. The Bulls picked Rose, they get credit for it. There was quite a debate over who should go number one. The Bulls hit the home run.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 03:14 PM) That's lame, dude. I spelled his name wrong once. In previous posts I spelled it correctly. I'm typing fast right now. And his name is not even worth spelling right anyway. I'll give you the point that it was lame to call out spelling. I retract the lameness. The Grizzlies preferred Asik to Mayo. The Bulls prefer Asik to Mayo. There's your proof that folks who know more than you (and I) think an athletic 7 foot big man who can play defense in the league already is worth more than a lazy headcase who has fallen short of any and all expectations laid before him. Jeez, give Asik a moment in the league before writing the kid off...

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 03:08 PM) I'm not on board with firing Forman but the sole reason the Bulls have their best record since 96 is because they lucked into the #1 pick when they had the 9th worst record in the league and less than a 2% chance at the pick. If that doesn't happen the franchise is still a mess because they refused to trade guys like Hinrich and Deng for top talent early in their careers. What superstars did they refuse to trade Hinrich and Deng for? The Lakers wanted Deng in a Kobe deal that may or may not have existed, and if said deal that may or may not have existed had existed, Kobe then nixed the possible deal because he wanted to play WITH Deng if traded. The Bulls refused to add Joakim Noah in a Tyrus deal to land Pau Gasol. However, I don't see why we're bringing up John Paxson deals when Gar is supposedly in charge. I just have a hard time screaming "fire him" when the Bulls look legit for the first time in 14 years. Yes, we got extremely lucky to get Rose, AND picked the right guy over Beasley. OJ Mayo pushing people to the edge is hilarity.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 03:05 PM) Wow, now that's comfort. If Noah or Boozer go down we can insert Osik can not lose a beat! Clearly when you can't spell the guys name I should certainly worry about your thoughts on Asik as a future difference-making center. OJ Mayo was not worth the risk.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 02:53 PM) Asik has become more overrated than Andruw Bynum. This is the same orgnization that wouldn't part with Luol Deng when KG and Gasol were out there. Upside with Asik is limited. MAYBE you can get above seriviceable production at some point. That's it. If he was the reason we didn't go after Mayo then I want Forman fired. God damn. OJ Mayo has quite a rep for a f***ing pretty s***ty player. FIRE FORMAN! BEST RECORD SINCE 96 FIRE HIM!!! I WANT OJ MAYO!!!!! FIRE PEOPLE!!! OJ MAYOOOOOO! Ridiculous. Take it the f*** easy, Mayo isn't taking us to another level, and when Boozer or Joakim go down next year and we can insert Omer you'll see why keeping him was smart.
-
Wow, the Blazers got Gerald Wallace. The Portland Trailblazers have acquired Gerald Wallace from the Bobcats in a last minute trade sending Joel Przybilla, Dante Cunningham and two first round draft to Charlotte.
-
I'm not crying that we didn't add Mayo. It looks like the Bulls stood pat... hopefully someone steps up.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) They are both 41st at their respective positions. Not sure how you can say thats low for a Center, but not low for a Guard? Was that all guards or just 2 guards?
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 02:04 PM) ESPNinsider just tweeted that the Bulls did get a SG...not known who it is yet. Battier goes to Memphis for Thabeet. O.J. Mayo has been traded for Josh McRoberts + first rounder...that's a rumor though. ???

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 12:39 PM) Nice post coming from someone who wouldn't deal Omer f***ing Asik for OJ Mayo. Now that's laughable. And yeah, I would not deal Taj+him for Mayo straight up, but only because it kills the Bulls own depth. Both are replaceable in their own right. They would still need other parts coming back if they were to trade both. You do realize that Keith Bogans has shot as well as Mayo this year, right? And Mayo wants the ball in his hands and thinks he's a much better player than he is... he'd carry the rock vs giving it to our MVP candidate. Also, Omer has some pretty awesome upside and is worth more than Mayo, in my opinion. What happens if one of our bigs goes down again? Size is king in the NBA.
-
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 12:30 PM) I cannot believe the the love Omer Asik gets on the board. I really cannot comprehend it. You do him and parts for Mayo every single time no matter what. Of course that hasn't happened because no GM would be dumb enough to accept that trade, but still. Him+Taj gets a little iffy, but neither has too much of a future here anyways. You'd probably hope to get a better offer than Mayo for them.
-
QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 12:22 PM) I don't want you to be the GM of my team. No s***. If you can get Mayo for picks, yes, but I'm not dealing an athletic 7 footer or our only big off the bench who can score inside for a headcase shooting 35% from 3pt and 40% overall.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) Just had my dog put down. Had her since 7th grade. She just had her 17th birthday. Sorry dude.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 11:09 AM) Thanks Omer or Taj for your time and good luck. I'll drive em to Memphis I think you said the same thing about a Joakim + Deng deal for Melo.
