  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 28, 2011 -> 09:16 AM) The Bulls can add a player to the bench without moving anyone, correct? Correct. They are running with 12. CSN last night said they could add 2 if they wanted.
  2. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Feb 27, 2011 -> 08:35 PM) When my Cub fan buddy called me to tell me the Sox got Peavy, I laughed. Years later (three and a half starts) the time has come. Dunn can hit 40, Chris Sale can become the most dominant pitcher of ever, according to Soxtalk, If he doesn't fall apart, watch the F out. But fire Ozzie! Roar roar! ozzy osborne f*** You, quiet your stupid face. Somebody must have had a "drink every time the Oscars showed Hugh Jackman last night to be drunk by 8:30!
  3. Someone change the title to "White Sox vs. Dodgers Spring Training Game 1 THREAD" or something. We have to start this s*** off correctly. Also, adding 670 AM next to MLB Network could be helpful to folks at work.
  4. I don't see why folks have to be hating on Business as Rasual. He is lights out from three point range and can at least make his own shot. He would likely take most of the minutes that Captain Brick Keith Bogans plays, with Brewer still being our defensive specialist. This would also allow for even more flexibility and for Korver/Brewer to play a few more minutes at SF spelling Deng. Business as Rasual would be a very solid pickup... while not costing us Omer Asik!
  5. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 28, 2011 -> 08:53 AM) Well, that went about exactly as I thought it would. No surprises in the major awards, and I'm glad they made the right choice for Best Picture instead of a more "popular" choice like Inception. Yeah, I don't think anyone out there thought Inception stood a chance for Best Picture. Everything I read leading up pretty much had "The King's Speech" as the runaway favorite. I was personally rooting for "Black Swan" or "127 Hours", as they were films that really took me to a place few have before, but "The King's Speech" was a fine choice in an absolutely epic year for film.
  6. QUOTE (Cali @ Feb 18, 2011 -> 03:14 PM) Stay Classy, Leyland... Jim Leyland's heyday was much, much different than present tense. When he was Cabrera's age a DUI came with a slap on the wrist. Penalties weren't increased to anything of concern until the 70s, and really, DUI's weren't a big deal until the late 90s when MADD became really visible. I get that some folks might think Leyland just doesn't give a s***, but in fact, the man is 67 years old and from another era where driving intoxicated and drunken driving just did not matter. In that respect, give the man a break.
  7. "He showed up once a week to pitch," Guillen said. "We were loyal to him, played him. I was a very bad manager because I kept him as my closer when he couldn't (close). He's got to look himself in the mirror. Too bad. I still love his kids and wife. " I think in this entire exchange this quote is the worst part. I always just asusmed Ozzie was crazy loyal but still felt that Jenks turning things around was crucial for our bullpen, not that he just threw a closer out there he knew had a 50% chance of blowing games. Ozzie. Damn you for both making me love you and want to punch you.
  8. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Feb 27, 2011 -> 11:47 PM) Can anyone recommend a bar downtown (preferrably around Art Institute) that would have MLB Network? Bennigans? I know they have an NBA package there.. Give a few places a ring and ask... it never hurts.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2011 -> 01:18 PM) The DVR is set and I am feeling like a kid in a candy store Same here. I'm going to listen to the game at work, and break down the game on DVR late tonight over a couple of Michelob Ultra's.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 27, 2011 -> 01:09 PM) I really will miss the experience of walking into the movie store though. It's dog friendly and was a good pit stop on a night time dog walk. It's going to be so weird not having this opportunity with any future offspring. Some of my favorite moments as a kid were when Dad would take me to the video store and I'd be looking through the NES / Super Nintendo titles and then "discovering" old comedies... all with the smell of popcorn in the background. Blockbuster (and other local establishments like Video Outlet, etc) were a staple of my youth, and they are all but extinct now.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 26, 2011 -> 04:59 PM) If you'd already made $73 million prior to this season, would you care quite as much? Yes.
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 26, 2011 -> 04:47 PM) Ugh. Looks like Rip doesn't care about winning anymore. If he did, he would have accepted the buyout and signed with a playoff team. He would have lost a couple million in the process, but you'd think players would want to be a part of a winning team instead of rotting in Detroit. I'd personally rather have "a couple million".
  13. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Feb 26, 2011 -> 11:45 AM) I have a gut feeling he's going to throw harder than he ever has and all the pitchers in the league are going to purposely rip their lat muscles so they can throw 108 next year. Jake Rowengartner
  14. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Feb 26, 2011 -> 10:26 AM) $47 mil tied up in 9 players. Bad.
  15. The Chicago Blackhawks and Brent Seabrook are nearing a five-year contract extension. According to Bob McKenzie, Seabrook and the Hawks are close to a five-year, $30 million deal. The deal is still unofficial but very near complete. "(Seabrook) is a big part of our group here and none of that has changed," GM Stan Bowman said. "Brent has been a big reason we've gotten to where we're at and he's going to continue to be a big part of this." This seems like a match made in heaven for Chicago, who pairs Seabrook with reigning Norris Trophy winner Duncan Keith.
  16. The amazing Knicks with their new superstar just lost to the Cavaliers.
  17. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 04:15 PM) Blake Griffin's Dunk gets Commercialized: I have now watched my final Slam Dunk "Competition".

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 01:36 PM) It really is amazing were they find some of this talent though. A guy working docks and stuff like that. Welcome to 2002. Wife finally allowed us to quit it this year. Without Simon, I have no interest.
  19. It's birthday tiiiIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME.
  20. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 09:54 AM) This comeback of his couldn't make me happier. I've always been a big fan of Liam Neeson. Check out his interview in this month's Esquire. It. Is. Fantastic.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 08:53 AM) KyYlE posted a link to a Paul video. This movie seriously looks terrible.
  22. On Thursday, the Bulls' bench outscored the Heat's reserves 22-2 and outrebounded them 20-1. I submit exhibit 8,000b as to why I'm unconcerned with the Knicks this season (a point that was brought up prior to last night's game). The Heat have a much better "big 3" and a much better bench, and it still doesn't make up for the supurb bench the Bulls can throw at you. Last night was one game, but it was a fun game... a game I won't be forgetting anytime soon. There's a lot of ball left and I am very excited for it.
