  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 23, 2011 -> 10:32 PM) No offense but the guy doesn't exactly have the attitude I want to see out of my quarterback. Awwwwwww did he frown on the sideline or get pissed when Hester stopped running a route?! What a horrible QB!
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 23, 2011 -> 09:45 PM) And to Steve's point about Collins/Hanie, I actually thought it was quite impressive that they made the move as quickly as they did. Yeah, no. The Carolina game and the 2nd half vs the Giants should have closed the book on Collins. His being sent out to completely waste 3 series is unacceptable. Any idiot could see he has no talent. Like I said, it was a waste of good field position and might have cost us the game.
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 23, 2011 -> 08:18 PM) Lots of people will be eating crow if that, unfortunately, is true. Philip Rivers did play on a torn ACL in the 2008 AFC Championship Game. Regardless, a torn MCL does not always require surgery and Cutler will likely be fine for training camp.
  4. Jay Cutler will have an MRI on his left knee Monday and it is believed that he suffered a torn MCL in Sunday's season-ending loss to the Packers.
  5. Here's my post-taking it out on a treadmill post-game reaction. 1) The team wasn't ready to play in the first half. 2) Our defense is really f***ing good when we get going. 3) Brian Urlacher deserves a Super Bowl ring that he's sure to never get. 4) The fact that we wasted three series on Todd Collins is inexcusable and should call into question some jobs. 5) Seriously? Todd Collins? Caleb Hanie looked like twice the QB! 6) Jay... I don't know, man. I think you're tough, but I think Brett Favre played a game this year with a broken ankle when his team was like 4-8. 7) God damn, is our defense good. Aaron Rodgers looked mortal. It's really too bad that the most important piece of our offense had to stand on the sidelines during that second half. 8) Devin Hester didn't show up. They kicked it to him and he didn't do anything. 9) Raji might be the fattest man I've ever seen pull off a pick-6. 10) I picked the Bears for 5 wins this year. I come away impressed with the season and the fact that they never gave up today. The Bears made me proud... especially Brian Urlacher
  6. I can't believe they found a taker for Vernon Wells.

Wow, Black Swan was really, really awesome.
  8. I love me some Bill Simmons, but that's pretty dumb. He hypes the s*** out of Pats/Jets, when they've met a grand total of three times in the playoffs.
  9. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jan 21, 2011 -> 10:30 AM) My wife, daughter and another friend are going to the Linkin Park concert next Wednesday at the UC. A friend of my is driving them in and since I'll already be here, I'm just going to me them after I get out of work. So my friend and I need something to do while the other 3 are at the concert. Is there anything fairly close? http://chicago.metromix.com/bars-and-clubs.../137795/content is a spot I hit prior to Bulls/Hawks games, though with the Hawks and Bulls both off that night I don't know how entertaining it will be. They'll have games on though.

This may or may not be totally SFW, but it's the documentary that featured Dickie from "The Fighter" for anyone who has seen it. Watch more free documentaries

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 21, 2011 -> 09:53 AM) Finally gonna see Black Swan today. As great as I have heard it is, I have been hesitant to see it for some reason. As am I, actually. I've already hunted down the best scene I imagine, but I hear the movie is a trip and I'm excited to see it play out.
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 21, 2011 -> 11:14 AM) I think this game comes down to which QB gets hit/sacked less. So you could say it will depend on the oline or the pass rush (depending on your school of thought). For the Bears win, they'll have to consistently run the ball, get pressure and take down Rodgers at least a few times, and have there CB's/LB's tackling the packers receivers without them churning up a ton of YAC. Additionally, we have to make sure the Packers don't get Starks going. Its gonna be a tough one, but it should take the best performance of the season to beat this Packers team and quite frankly, thats what I expect if you plan on playing for a superbowl! Lets go Bears!!! The game comes down to turnovers. I guarantee that if Cutler doesn't throw a pick, the Bears are going to win this one. We should have solid field position all game long with our vast superiority on special teams. Protect the ball, kick the field goal, score the points, f***ing WIN.
  13. QUOTE (G&T @ Jan 21, 2011 -> 09:38 AM) Colin Cowherd is the worst radio personality ever. He sucks. You shouldn't listen or care. This. Why is anyone listening to that moron?
  14. I'd like to say that I think Kurt Thomas was an incredibly underrated budget purchase. He's like the $3 pair of Old Navy flipflops you picked up 4 years ago and realize you wear to the pool like 7 times a year.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 20, 2011 -> 09:44 PM) The Bulls are the ultimate "play to your opponents level" team. It's hard to gauge anything without our two best big men.

Parks & Rec got off to a great start. Ron Swanson as Bob Knight was hilarious. "The Office" is having one of it's strongest season and really showcasing a strong cast that I'll happily continue to watch after Michael Scott leaves.
  17. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jan 19, 2011 -> 02:57 PM) In other words, they recycled a story from several months ago with one new little tidbit about Worldwide Wes coming to Chicago, which probably means nothing. Yeah. I have given up on NBA trade rumors. Caring about them is a waste of time.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 19, 2011 -> 01:31 PM) ESPN? conflict of interest? Thats unpossible! Ha, my thoughts exactly.
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 19, 2011 -> 01:41 PM) So it's like quite literally the Ferrari of watches. I mean, seriously, if that thing doesn't cure cancer, I have no idea why someone would pay that much for it. Did you see the Kanye watch he had made for himself. $180,000 Some people just have too much money.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jan 19, 2011 -> 12:28 PM) Foo Tease Yes, I'm stoked. Sounds like the boys are getting back to a little 'harder' sound, I can't wait. Oh fast forward time to this album please.

QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Jan 19, 2011 -> 01:54 PM) I feel like the Foo Fighters peaked with The Colour and The Shape. Everything since then has been very good, but that album is phenomenal. As a big Foo fan, I'd have to disagree. Since The Colour and The Shape it was sort of downhill, but if you haven't given Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace a few spins, you should. That album is their best work front to back, I believe.

I struggle to see how Bane can be pulled off in a realistic way. This should be interesting as I fully trust Chris Nolan. Catwoman, well, I'll be interested to see the costume (I wonder if Kyyle has heard anything about which design they may go with from the previous Batman universes). I don't know if Anne Hathaway has the look though, as the Catwoman I'd hoped for would be much less white. It'll be interesting.
  23. The Good Jay / Bad Jay s*** is just a take off on Good Rex / Bad Rex. I'll be the first to tell you that at least half of his picks are the fault of the receiver not going to the right spot. It's a f***ing Mike Martz offense, most of it is based on trust and throwing to "a spot". See the almost endzone pick this weekend where Johnny Knox allowed the defender to get inside position on a bang-bang slant. Big no-no.
  24. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 18, 2011 -> 06:23 PM) Josh McDaniels hired by the Rams for OC. First order of business, get rid of Sam Bradford. My dad would murder someone.
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2011 -> 04:54 PM) You're missing the issue there Steve...he said that "Most" of those issues were self-inflicted. No where in this post does it establish that most of them are things like cancer. You in fact include obesity and Diabetes in there as things that can be reasons for an insurer to deny you, which is exactly his point. The difference between "most" and "some" is huge... and whoever said all cases of diabetes are self-inflicted? I'd say a vast majority of "pre-existing conditions" are not self-inflicted.
