QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 07:01 PM) Fixed Even better.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 08:02 AM) Does Greedo still shoot first? I wish they hadn't f***ed with that. It was way better when Han shot first.

QUOTE (DOWNTOWN PANTHER @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 07:18 AM) The former Texas Longhorn QB recruit may have a big name, but has hit more meaningless roundtrippers than anyone in the game. As a Cincinnati Reds fan I can tell you that the Reds were drastically better without him. He can hit the long ball, but strikes out a ton. There is a reason he has floated from team to team since leaving Cincinnati. Unless they do a movie about Will Farrells life, Adam Dunn will be best known as the most overrated power hitter of this baseball generation. Thats just my opinion. That's a funny, inaccurate statement. The Reds dealt him at the end of his contract to the Diamondbacks. It was his walk year, and he signed with the Nationals during one of the weirder offseasons in MLB history given the floundering economy for 2 years. That contract was up and he hit free agency, signing with the White Sox. That's not really bouncing around... one team traded him in his walk year when they stunk.

Nice pickup if true. He should feast in the NL.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 10:00 AM) Well that really cleared things up for me.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 10:08 AM) And they went 8-0 against their division. What more could you ask for with the talent they have? I believe you mean 6-0, but yeah, Al Davis does need to eat a bullet. I'd be so pissed as a Raiders fan. I guess, upon further review, their O-coordinator is taking the job and would have gone elsewhere, and was a huge reason for their offense improving by almost 2,000 yards. But still, f*** Al Davis.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 10:05 AM) To be fair, ATL runs a totally different scheme for their blueliners that makes them rack up more points. Buff is literally a 4th forward when he's on the ice. Oh trust me, I'm aware. Tobias Enstrom is dominating for my fantasy team. I've got quite a few Thrashers games this season, though, and Buff has taken his game to another level and is a true force out there, and Campbell's contract is killing us. Not that I'm suggesting the Hawks could have done anything about Campbell's contract this offseason, I know they couldn't... however it does remain frustrating.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 08:55 AM) A little late on the Vince Young discussion but Oakland and their reputation for taking castoffs from other teams seems like a somewhat logical fit. I hope they don't try to acquire him though. Speaking of Oakland, why on Earth do you fire Tom Cable after the Raiders look competent for the first time in forever?

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 01:04 AM) It's obviously far from a lost season, and they have a lot of work to do, but it isn't anything that can't be fixed. The penalties have killed them the last few games, that is first and foremost. Those are things you can avoid. The power play is first in the NHL but the penalty kill is slowly dropping lower and lower, again, something that can be fixed. Dallas' first 3 goals tonight were on the PP and their 4th was an empty net. I think all but 1 of the Kings' goals the other night were on the PP as well, with the opening Handzus goal being just seconds after it expired. Things just really haven't been bouncing their way lately though, and every team goes through stretches like this. It's not like they've been getting dominated at every facet of the game. Teams are scoring a lot of garbage goals against them. The Hawks lost 9 in a row at one point last season, IIRC. They're healthy (knock on wood) which is extremely important. Now is when they need to get a little run going, to build that team chemistry even more. I think Coach Q has stuggled a lot trying to find good line combinations. Eventually they'll come. They can surely use another D-man though. You remember very incorrectly. This stat for whatever reason is going around right now, but it's entirely inaccurate. The Hawks are middle of the pack and until their stars start playing like it (I'm staring you in the f***ing eye, Hossa and Kane) they aren't going to be any better. It's killing me to see how ineffective the 7 million dollar man Brian Campbell is while looking at Big Buff's statistics while manning the blue line this season for the Thrashers.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 02:27 AM) no big deal, but u'd be frustrated by rose the last three games if he was on your fantasy team. I have Rose on my team in a super-competitive league. I could give a f***. It's been so long since the Bulls were THIS good, f*** fantasy.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 09:22 AM) Until? Cabs are heeYAAAHHHH!

What a crappy way for that game to end. I don't know whose dick D-Rose has to suck to get a foul call, but he hasn't done so yet. On his final shot to win frmo 3 he was clearly fouled by Devin Harris. Whatever, can't win em all, but this team really needs to learn how to hit free throws. 20/30 is unacceptable. I also hate Luol Deng, he somehow makes himself less effective with each game, and anytime he needs to hit some free throws he misses them. Anyway, Derrick Rose is amazing even in games where he isn't really effective like tonight. That stretch of 6 straight points (and 1 lay up and pull up 3 basically saying "no f***ing way b****es" was awesome). He just needs help when Boozer isn't on the court.

One of you "capologists" tell me an acceptable trade where we land Kevin Martin. The free throw shooting for the Bulls this season has been beyond attrocious, and Martin knows how to get to the line and would be the perfect guard who can not only create his own shot, but he can score from anywhere and doesn't need the ball to be effective. Someone figure out the deal, and we can conference GarPax and get this s*** done. I can think of no better player (who can be acquired... yes I'm including Melo in that) who fits this Bulls roster better.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 03:58 PM) Williams overpaid, but jesus christ, it happened almost 6 months ago. Why is this still even being discussed? It's f***ing pointless and aggravating. That. We have everything to be excited about in 2011, but now Dan Hudson is the new Chris Young.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 11:28 PM) ****Fantasy Football Alert**** Was in the fantasy football championship game yesterday against my roommate and thought I lost 97-96. After NFL stats went official today, Percy Harvin got 2 receiving yards deducted from him, making it 96-96 and I won on a tiebreaker. My roommate is devastated. I am ecstatic after having conceded defeat at the hands of Danny Amendola last night. Why on Earth does that s*** league have the Championship in Week 17?

QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) I've seen that before, it should be pretty good, but seriously has anyone ever had a smaller number of dunks than Jennings and be asked to participate? Jennings has some ups It's not like guys like Spud Webb and Nate Robinson dunk(ed) all day long, but they've supplied some pretty memorable moments.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 10:50 AM) What does an NL pitcher look like? Can you give me a detailed description so I know for future reference. I'd say a guy who can hack it against weak NL pitching but isn't someone you put in a rotation when going for a World Series Championship in the AL. We get it, J4L, you still hate the Hudson deal. Get over it.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 10:16 AM) Participants for the dunk contest officially announced. Blake Griffin, Brandon Jennings, JaVale McGee and Serge Ibaka. Apparently LeBron ONCE AGAIN was considering participating but cited concern over the wear and tear the grueling event would put on his 6'8, 260 LB body. If I'm the Bucks, I'm pissed that my injured player accepted the invite.

Listen, KW doesn't do Hudson for E-Jax unless he's ok with being "stuck" with E-Jax. Hudson looks every bit of a National League pitcher, while Edwin looked great for us. We have both now, no need to sweat the small stuff.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 03:15 PM) I don't watch those Teen pregnant shows or anything. I will watch at least the first 3 weeks of every Real World season to see if I like it and watch the Challenge seasons. It's not like I take it as serious entertainment. I watch so may well written dramas and sitcoms that I enjoy mindless fun once a week. The Challenge is even more entertaining if you listen to Bill Simmons' podcasts religiously.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 02:56 PM) What numbers thing is everyone talking about in HIMYM, did I completely miss something. The entire episode different elements in the frame had numbers that counted down from 50. The moment it hit 1 was when Lilly got out of the cab and delivered the bad news. It was a countdown to the bad news hinted at by the title of the episode, "bad news".
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 09:15 PM) Same here. Need a new episode of the Challenge to begin. PREACH.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 08:42 PM) WTF was that ending on HIMYM???? I was wondering what the count down was for... I guess we found out.

That was easy. There was some amazing music this year.
