  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 02:09 PM) I'd say Scott Schoenweis is first on my list of people I'm sure used. I'm going with Jose Canseco.
  2. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 04:05 PM) SnB and I don't eat at Applebees due to their annoying advertising during the 2005 NCAA tournament. The horrible food wasn't convincing enough?
  3. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 02:44 PM) It's a fine line I'm walking here among the rabid NFL fans, but let me explain my stance, because most of you seemed to have missed my point entirely. I have no issue with a person getting injured in football, that's the name of the game...what I do have a problem with, and I dealt with it yesterday, and today, is people actively hoping that not only do the Bears get to Favre, but they injure him in a possible life altering way...and because it's football, it's ok to hope for that. Well, yeah, but that wasn't happening over here and you started calling a knowledgeable poster "stupid" and "useless pieces of inhuman sh*t" for absolutely no reason. Take it up with the jokers on those boards you cited.
  4. I will say, call it posturing, call it hokey, call it what you want, but Favre taking the field yesterday was pretty badass if you ask me. He may kind of be a turd with all of his drama, but the dude just loves playing football and I'm not going to hate on him for that. I especially enjoyed his pregame speech in the huddle. I'd definitively say we've seen the last of Brett Favre vs. the Bears, but who really knows. I have a hard time seeing him come back after this season.
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 02:33 PM) I've seen numerous threads on bears.scout.com, chicagobears.com, etc...of people saying how they celebrated Favre's injury, and that him being injured was the play of the game, etc...and how they were hoping he'd get taken out, broken in half, or otherwise. Then reply to those threads. No one is relishing in old man Favre going down over here. Believe it or not, NFL defenses are designed to get to the QB and to take him down, and when he goes out, that's a win for the defense. There is nothing sad about it... that's f***ing football.
  6. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) There are equally stupid people in a lot of places. So it's ok for you to be stupid, too? If this is the reality of 99% of NFL fans, then 99% of NFL fans are useless pieces of inhumane s*** when broken down to their true selves. If sports bring out the worst in people, then they've missed the ENTIRE point. Oh my. Thanks for the life lesson, Mr. Perfect. Yeesh.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 02:20 PM) I highly disagree. You'd be incorrect. The league is more diverse and has more talent than ever before... and there is a lot of competition. Hell, the s***ty teams even have entertaining players to watch.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 12:32 PM) Or Demi Moore in Striptease? Was there a scene like that with Gina Gerson? Can't remember anymore. Are you possibly thinking of Jessie from 'Saved by the Bell' in Showgirls?

Ha, I just watched that vid on the interwebs. That really, really, really, really should not be directly linked off Soxtalk. Anyone on a network that, unlike mine, is actually monitored would be TOAST.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 10:18 AM) more than making out, lol. Mila goes downtown I must see this film.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 09:49 AM) Carlos Gomez, as Sox fans know well, is a terrible offensive player. The Hawkeroo won't hear this and will not respond to it.

QUOTE (3E8 @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 09:50 AM) Black Swan is neurotic, but beautiful at the same time. Portman does an amazing performance as the ballerina trying to hang on to her ultimate dream while psychologically spiraling out of control. There are actually many similarities between Black Swan and Aronofsky's last film, The Wrestler, which was my favorite of 2008. I like the story in the Wrestler better, but Black Swan is aesthetically more impressive (a lot of black/white, with interesting use of mirrors) and the tense nature of the film allows the score to build more effect... **** ...and of course hotties makin' out.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 09:56 AM) My favorite part was calling Toby Gerhart a great cold-weather back. You know, cause he went to Stanford and is from SoCal. Yeah, I caught that, too. Dumb dumb dumb.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 09:41 AM) That broadcast yesterday was just horrible in general. They sucked off Favre for the entire first quarter, it was just awful. The game was awesome, though.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 09:49 PM) I'm as much of a Bears fan as the next guy, but man...Gruden is sure sucking Cutler off tonight. There is no player that Gruden doesn't suck off... the guy loves every player and everything and is quite possibly the worst announcer ever.
  16. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 06:02 PM) Adrian Peterson is out tonight. I think that is worse than starting Joe Webb at QB. Die Gerhart! Magic is being up 19 in your big money league (winner gets $1,000), having to go against Matt Forte and Adrian Peterson last night, and Peterson randomly not playing.
  17. Not a member was stirring, not even Balta.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 05:09 PM) Oh yes. It's like sex. But let me shut up now. I don't want to turn this into a Jimmy Johns thread. Bootlegger w/ cheese ftw.
  19. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 04:30 PM) According to ZacZ on The Score, the game could, theoretically, be cancelled tonight. The NFLPA and league officials met and agreed to a set of conditions that must be met to play the game. If they are not all met, the game could be canceled or protested by the NFLPA. and then what the f*** happens
  20. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) And I remember the days when Steve Francis was actually decent; http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont...?urn=nba-297966 Ha, he left the ice on his ankles.
  21. Brett Favre was just upgraded from doubtful to questionable. I think he's going to play...
  22. You'd have a hard time convincing me to freeze my ass off to watch my underperforming home team from bleacher seating without any possibility of ordering beers at the game. That's right, this game is dry.
  23. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 09:49 AM) Really? So what you are saying is that ALL MVP caliber players shoot 100% from the field and 100% from the line in key situations like that? GMAFB I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. - Michael Jordan

  25. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 09:33 AM) I don't think it's the cold that is a worry, it's the rock hard surface of a frozen turf field. It's like playing football on a concrete field. Is it like frozen tundra?
