So let me get this straight. The single-most appealing thing about Madden 10, the online franchise mode, had bugs aplenty (including incorrect aging, no contracts, none of the deep, intuitive features we all love from regular franchise), yet they do nothing about it? From what I have read, the only changes to Madden 11 are updated rosters, new pre-snap controls (something that bugs me because they were fine), and a new way of "playcalling" which is basically permanent "Ask Madden" which takes half the fun out of playing, imo. Seriously, I like selecting plays, not being told by a computer what to do and mindlessly trying to pull it off. Then they ignore the online franchise, stating it will go "largely unchanged". This monopoly gets really old. Yet, of course, like the drone I am I'll walk like a Zombie, drooling, into GameStop come Tuesday and pick up my copy. Ugh. I'm dumb.

Niemi had a nice run... a stretch I'll never forget. However, let's be real here. His numbers show he was the worst Cup-winning goaltender in the last 5 years (saw this on CSN, so it must be true). He won us some games in the SJ series, but without our amazing defense in front of him and high-scoring, he would have been shown as just a regular, backup goaltender, which really he should be. He's not Huet bad (not many are) but he's not amazing, either. Marty Turco, in my opinion, is a world-class goaltender. He's a bit long in the tooth at 34, but history has shown that goaltenders can remain at peak-performance well into their late 30's. The only issue is health when the 'tenders start to age. Turco handles the puck brilliantly, which is going to help our defensemen move the puck out of the zone even quicker (they are already the best in this aspect in the NHL imo). Turco, behind a really bad defense, put up a .913 save percentage last season. It might not be a permanent fix, but the Blackhawks goaltending position is improved considerably for the 2010-2011 season with Turco instead of Niemi. It's going to be a really fun season. The best part about all of this (even though they basically traded their entire 3rd and 4th lines) is that the Blackhawks best players are only going to get better (save Hossa) as they enter their primes (or in the case of Toews and Kane, enter their pre-primes).

I did not kill myself after we did not get LeBron. I hate, hate, hate the Heat... especially given their public celebration of winning the 2011 NBA Championship. They need to go down. I don't know how, but they need to go down. Then D-Wade can compare it to 9/11 and be booed off the court. Can the Bulls win it all? Unlikely. However, this is by far the best Bulls team assembled in the post-Jordan era, and I know the Bulls did their darndest to improve in Free Agency. I'd love to add Rudy, but it seems nearly impossible without moving Taj due to salary reasons (or expanding it to a deal involving Deng, but unfortunately this team kinda needs him). We're still one gunner short, and House has signed, but other than that, the team looks good. I really liked the CJ Watson addition.

Upon Teahen's return, Kotsay should become pointless. Ozzie is a wily bastard, but he's not a complete idiot is he? Wait... he did lead off Dweezy for awhile.

I just got back from being out this evening, and I'm completely shocked that big boy Dan Gilbert would talk all that s***, then go ahead and S&T LeBron so he gets his money. What a douche that Dan Gilbert is... I guess the first rounders are nice though, and you really can't argue with that. It's just one final time he gives LeBron exactly what he wants.
