  1. I'd take him, but don't expect anymore than a .275 average with maybe 10-15 homers and solid steals. He's only going to get older.
  2. QUOTE (3E8 @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 10:43 PM) Fixed Lol. Yeah we left the little buggers at home.
  3. Now we just have to hope they don't mass some terrible offer this off-season, and the great Tyrus debacle can finally end!
  4. Personally, having really enjoyed the original 7 that aired, I'm extremely pleased by this announcement. link
  5. I don't think it would happen, but at a reduced price I'd love to see Manny on the South Side for a season. He's still quite beastly. I don't really think the Dodgers would try to move him, though.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 01:45 PM) Jerry: Cut your hair Manny: No KW: eeeeehhhhhhh........hmmmmm. Ozzie: (censored)
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 06:59 AM) There is some great stuff in there. I don't think it matters what Toews wears, you can't hide those eyes. dreamy
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 07:32 AM) If people have Jordan Danks friended, check out the video of him dancing while dressed up as a wheaties box on facebook. I saw it, it's funny.
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 12:21 PM) Every man has there things that will get them ball-busted. I watch every episode of Gossip Girl. XOXO Chisoxfn's Man Card LOL
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 12:17 PM) These things can happen while you are married, but people dont need to know I have nothing to hide. I also watch Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives, the latter of which I think is absolutely hilarious. Does this take away from the other things I enjoy (ie Sons of Anarchy, It's Always Sunny, the lovely taste of my wife's vagina, my ps3, the sox, blackhawks, bears, and bulls)? Absolutely not!
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 12:11 PM) * All my numbers were based upon google searches Same here. Everyone just assumes the Hawks are the city's red-headed stepchild (to that I take offense on multiple levels, ). In reality, I'd rank the city as follows... in my heart it's different. Chicago Average: 1. Bears, 2a. Cubs, 2b. Bulls, 3. Blackhawks, 4. White Sox Steve: 1a. White Sox, 1b. Blackhawks, 1c. Bears, 2 Bulls, 3. who?
  12. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 12:10 PM) Lastly, a wine tasting? Thats not living the High Life. Tell me about it. The wife's boss was hosting it. Obviously I'd rather have been beating you again at Madden. We wound up being the top bidders in silent auction on a piece perfect for our dining room, though, so it worked out.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 12:00 PM) No, but you are comparing the Blackhawks to the cities 2nd favorite baseball team (its our favorite). Compare the Cubs and Blackhawks ratings. Or add the Sox and Cubs viewership and compare them. It would be impossible. That's just a cop-out. Blackhawks vs. White Sox is a perfectly acceptable comparison and you can't use the Cubs as an excuse. I don't consider the White Sox a niche, and I don't consider the Blackhawks a niche. Hell, last night I attended a wine-tasting, and the game that was on was the Blackhawks, not the Bulls. It's not as black & white as you're making it out to be.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 11:57 AM) but ultimately its a niche sport. Is baseball a niche sport? The Blackhawks have higher tv ratings than the White Sox this year.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 30, 2009 -> 11:54 AM) Does the number of seats in the arena change depending on how the floor is set up? Yes, the UC seats more during a Bulls game. They bring in seats that would be on the ice during a Hawks game. That's why the disparity in seats-sold percentage is so high (114% vs 96%) despite the lower disparity in actual seats sold/attendance numbers (difference of only 1,400).
  16. I think you all are underrating the popularity of the Blackhawks right now. For the season, their viewership bests our loveable White Sox of 2009. Sure, they aren't to the level of the Bulls, but I read earlier in this thread that 95% of the city has the Blackhawks at the back of their mindset, and that's just false. It's not that the Hawks are just "popular", they are popular on an epic level. They had the highest TV ratings in the NHL last year and the highest attendance in the league as well. This team is no joke, and for hockey haters to dismiss it as nothing but a fad or as something that can't approach the Bulls at any point is a tad annoying. (note, not talking to the folks who simply state the Bulls are a better television draw, so don't misinterpret, because that fact is proven by more than double later on in this post) The Blackhawks had their highest ever regular season ratings last year, and that number is spiking even more this year. To just dismiss it is a bad idea. However, for the actual numbers, yes, Chicago is a basketball town before hockey, and it'll take a long run of Blackhawks' ass-kicking to change that. Even last year when the buzz was high and the Bulls were "meh" for most of the season, the tv ratings were as follows. link Still, out-drawing the Bulls at home is an accomplishment in and of itself by percentage, let alone by total over 41 games given the UC seats more during a Bulls game than a Hawks game.
  17. This is fluffiest bunch of Cubs loving I've ever heard. Between all the BS, I heard "yes, ticket prices will go up."
  18. QUOTE (T R U @ Oct 29, 2009 -> 02:57 PM) I couldn't agree more.. this game will be epic Yes. This.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 29, 2009 -> 09:30 AM) The Avs are 10-1-2 with 9 of their games happening on the road so far? Wow. Did'ja take a gander at who's minding the net for Colorado? I always thought he got the short-end of the stick here.
  20. I personally look forward to mowing down those videogame civs upon this game's release.
