If Pods gets recalled, will Fields change his #?
Steve9347 replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 03:11 PM) I don't know why but something about our starting 3B possibly giving up his number to a guy who was just signed to a minor league contract 2 weeks ago and hasn't done anything of note in the big leagues since 2005 rubs me the wrong way. I'm sure Josh will give up his number, I don't think he has much of a choice, that's a tough position to be in for a young ballplayer. How could you? -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 11:22 AM) If said hitter can put up an .850-.900 OPS, I could care less if is missing an arm. I have no problem with the DH not being able to field a position. I would like to point out that I am fine with the Jim that we've seen thus far... but I don't see Thome putting up much better production this year than what we're seeing... .772 OPS.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 11:12 AM) If you are a big Deadpool fan then you are going to be super pissed with what they did with his character I'm more pissed I posted this in the Video Game thread instead of the Films thread.

Early reviews aren't great for "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". I always liked Wolverine, but my biggest draw to go see this new flick is Ryan Reynolds as the very beginning of Deadpool. Man, did I love that comic, and what a perfect casting job. I hope this leads to a Deadpool flick, though I don't know how popular that comic actually was...

QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 10:25 AM) I'm currently a little over 2 years into a 30 year fixed VA loan at 6.5% We plan on staying in this home for several years. The 4.5% isn't locked in yet, but it can be locked in as soon as I give her the go-ahead. We have very little equity in the house, negative equity actually with how short a time we've been there. The market here in the ATL area has taken a hit like most other places. I don't feel that the refi amount, 100% thanks to VA (also will roll in points and closing costs), is well beyond the value of the home (still within the Zillow estimate). Pretty much in the same boat as you... I considered paying points back when I could get down to a 4.8, so if I were you, I'd probably do it at the 4.5.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 06:57 AM) I am really interesting to see what Daniel's fate is. Remember the island earlier made sure that what was supposed to happen, would still happen, think back to Charlie and how many times he was supposed to die, but Desmond saved him. If he is supposed to get everyone Back to the Future, can the island really allow him to be dead? It ought to be interesting. I think you've got stuff messed up. Farraday started thinking he COULD change the past, we found out he could not. He was always meant to be killed by his own mother (Eloise), hence why we saw the scene where she got so upset at Widmore after she sent her son off to die at the island. She knew it would start a chain of events that would eventually lead her to killing her own son... she already knew that would happen. For what... I guess we find out soon enough.

The wife and I each have our cell phones... that's enough. Until we have a kid, I don't see a need for a landline (if then).

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 08:33 AM) From everything we have learned about A-Rod in the past year, does this really surprise you? The Roids were definitely for stat padding, I have no doubt that ARod would be happier with a record than he would a world series ring Agreed.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 05:20 PM) I'd say they are deeper and more physical as well. This was a matchup I didnt want from the get go. It's the semi's... any matchup will not be one you want. Tonight, tonight we s*** ourselves. -
It's amazing how quickly the mighty can fall.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 11:58 AM) When Gordon wasn't shooting, Drose or Brad Miller was turning it over. Yet you liked that final play call.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 11:50 AM) Give me a break Steve, I guess if Phil Jackson did it with Bill Wennington, it's ok. All this BG and VDN thrashing is getting old fast. I'm not thrashing Gordon, he rose up while injured and might have shot 6/21, but was still the only reason we made it to OT. Phil Jackson would never, I repeat NEVER have called a last shot for Bill Wennington. He called one for Kerr... a shooter, because he knew everyone would condense upon M-Jeff. (this is the smart thing to do) Gordon should have had that last shot... we had 3 seconds. If not him, figure out a play where Rose is headed to the basket, or better yet, DESIGN a play where Gordon immediately gets the ball. The defense will collapse on him, and you can find Kirk open beyond the stripe for the win. Anything was better than Brad Miller getting the final shot. Now, this brings up something else. VDN continued to call man-to-man and let Paul Pierce hit the exact same shot 4 f***ing times. They should have double-teamed Pierce and made Tony Allen or someone else beat them with an outside shot. No. They persistently allowed Pierce to get the one shot we all knew he could hit at will.

I think this thread would be cooler if the title were "Thome to retire?". Flame away.
-
The problem goes back to one I've been harping on all season. VDN is a rookie head coach and never had coaching experience. He sucks at drawing up last plays, and it bites us in the ass all the time. Calling a play for Brad Miller... get outta here. Sure, it worked... it got him open, but it's still Brad f***ing Miller.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 12:28 AM) I've lost pretty much all respect for KG. Boston has made him a big-headed piece of s***. http://d.yimg.com/a/p/sp/getty/7b/fullj.1d...lls_celtics.jpg http://a.espncdn.com/media/apphoto/660123b...7784935a4ab.jpg What a b****. Wow, KG needed two All-Stars around him to win a f***ing ring. So while he's in his suit, he yells at a guy who has the balls to play through an injury and put up a damn good game. Garnett is a b****.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 09:24 AM) WOW! Talk about over reaction: Egypt Begins Slaughtering 300K Pigs As Precaution I'd tell them to f*** off, too.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 03:46 PM) I think you missed the point - he is saying that he did read the label, and that the substance in the supplement wasn't listed, which made him test positive. I have no clue if that is true or not, but, he apparently did in fact check the ingredients. But he did not call the MLB Hotline, which would have covered his ass. He was lazy, and he put a banned substance in his body.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 28, 2009 -> 03:48 PM) It's been f***ed up for like a year. Hm, it normally seems pretty accurate for me. Today it's off by like 20 minutes. No worries.

I'd think quite a few people who have tickets to tonight's game will start showing up in the latter innings. -
