The A's have signed Esteban Loaiza to a 3 year deal for 21 mil. Solid starter for a staff that is already one of the best. THe A's should be dangerous next year they need to sign a big bat, dont see why they arent in the Konerko running. We all no what kind of trouble we have with the A's.

Question Is Thome good enough to play first if we cant get back Paulie and leave Frank as DH??

I heard on ESPN that the White Sox have offered a 4 year 52 million contract to Paulie. I don't know if that is jsut speculation. I think for that price of 13 mil a year Paulie will stay.

Well I thought you guys might like this essay. I wrote it for my Honors English Class and was wondering what you guys thought. I thought this years WHiote Sox is exactly the type of team i needed to do. We had to pick a word a give an extended definition of it. I wrote this during the Red Sox series. I am an aspiring journalist and was wondering what you guys thought. Critque at your liking!!! Team A team assembles a group of people together to form one successful unit. In order to accomplish their goals, a team must work together united, rather than separate individuals. A popular saying is “Defense wins championships”. I disagree with this statement. It singles out defense and does not reflect every aspect of the game. The saying should be, “Teams win championships”. “There is no I in team.” This well-known saying is often quoted by coaches everywhere. A team is not characterized by its individuals, but by how those individuals bond and gel together to become one team. If this bonding does not occur, the team is less likely to succeed. A team can be any number of people trying to achieve the same goal. The dictionary definition of team is a group of people working together in a coordinated effort. The word comes from the Old English word team meaning offspring. However, the word team is mostly associated with sports. The majority of sports require teams. The focus of these teams is to accomplish their goals and win the game by working together. The 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls were an outstanding team. They won the NBA Finals, but most impressive was their seventy-two and ten regular season record. That team is the epitome of a team. A team does not win seventy-two games because of one or to players. Their leader was Michael Jordan. He was an amazing player, but he was not selfish and not only made himself better, he made the team better. To only lose ten out of eighty-two games is an astonishing feat and stands still today as the NBA record. Certain players are known as team players. The New England Patriots are full of team players. They have a handful of positions that even play on both offense and defense, which is abnormal in the NFL. It all starts with the quarterback Tom Brady. Poised and confident, he spreads the ball around to as many of his teammates as possible. His numbers are not always spectacular, but he finds a way to accomplish the task at hand. Even when he has an outstanding game, he does not take the credit for the win, because he knows that a win is a total team effort. This unselfish attitude is the reason the Patriots have won the last two Super Bowls. At the beginning of the football season this year, the LaPorte Slicer football team set up goals to accomplish. To achieve these goals, we had to work together. We lifted weights as a team. We practiced drills as a team. We hang out as a team. We even ate lunch as a team at different teammates’ houses between practices during two-a-days. As a result of this, we have won six of our first seven games of the season. Winning these games, we have achieved most of our goals for the season thus far. We are the first LaPorte team to win our first six games since 1946. LaPorte has had some great players, but never a team that is as close and bonded as we are. We work together as one team and are not selfish. We have beaten teams that have players with scholarships to play Division One college football. These teams had individual stars, but were not together as one team. The 2005 Chicago White Sox, American League Central Champions, is currently the best team in the regular season. The team the White Sox won ninety-nine games in the regular season. Before the season, the White Sox, inexperienced and young, were overlooked and were not even expected to compete for their divisional title. They lost their All-Star outfielder to free agency and traded their leading hitter for a speedy but questionable leadoff hitter. They worked together as a team with supposedly mediocre players. They just had fun playing the games and became good friends. Surprisingly, by the All-Star break, they had the best record in the MLB. They surprised nearly everyone besides themselves. The youthful, confident White Sox knew that they had talent and were ready to show everyone. Now at the end of the season, they have won the division and are in the playoffs. Even with all the wins, the White Sox are looked at as underdogs and do not have much of a chance of doing much in the playoffs. They have proved the doubters all year and look to keep proving them wrong. If they truly are the team I believe they are, they will win the World Series. A great team forms one unit to succeed. Without a team uniting and working together, the team would not achieve their goals. If the White Sox did not stick together and listened to all the doubters, they would not be where they’re at now. When you think of team think of the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls and the 2003-2005 New England Patriots. What would these teams be if they didn’t come together to reach their goal of success?

So i was at the game Monday night getting autographs from Pudge and Carl Everett and MAn Soo Lee comes out. He was waving to the crowd and stuff, then i heard a dad say hey kids "it's Carlos Lee!!!" THen about 15 kids ran out down the left field line trying to get his autograph. It was quite humorous, yet very embarrasing for Man Soo and all the kids and the Dad. :banghead I dont think ive heard much more of a stupid comment in my life!!

Jenks is the man. Had a brief conversation with him and the game Monday night and got his autograph. He's a very cool guy. I think he appreciated that i knew his name unlike all the kids!!!!

I'll be there tonight rootin my boys on. Waiting for Frank to hit one to me in row 5 center field.

After last night it would seem like a horrible trade. MArte shocked the s*** oput of me and struck out all 3 batters he faced. We need him in the bullpen if he can fix his control problem. And Burnett got rocked. I think we just need to sit back for a while and let things play out and maybe make a deal only if it is great deal.

I don't think he will be facing as good as a lineup in the playoffs eiher. I'm sure he didnt get the normal amount of warming up that he gets. And finesse pitchers like him need that. I don't see thiss being a sign of anything unless its a sign of how he will do in future all star games coming out of the bullpen

I think Marte is highly overrated. HE cannot through strikes. Too wild. HE has great stuff. I'd take a great starter over a"good" reliever any day.!!!
