  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 12:01 PM) Well what was it the dad said? Something like "if something happens to my other son, there's going to be hell to pay," right? And he has a military background in Chechen, right? I got news for you, your son is probably going to kill himself once he realizes he has no way out. But let us be concerned about saving him.
  2. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 11:33 AM) Entire city of Boston in lockdown? Is that perhaps a little excessive? Why? QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 11:35 AM) Something just doesnt add up. These guys had days to get away from the Boston area, yet they stick around and then do something extremely high profile to basically get caught. There profile also doesnt fit the early reports about them having to be trained due the fact it had ball bearings, etc. Im wondering if they are the low men on the totem poll and there job was to plant the bombs and then take the fall. I was thinking the same thing re: getting out. I realize the photos weren't out for a few days, but did they really think no images would come out? And yes, once they are out, you rob a convenience store for a few bucks?
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 11:23 AM) All you can do at this point is hope you can catch him without killing him. I get that part and why, however seeing a headline of "suspect 2's head blown off" would be OK with me too.
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 11:11 AM) CNN article says he escaped on foot. I don't know how that happens. Common criminals never evade police in chase, let alone someone with theeentire country on him. Weird, an hour or so ago someone on CNN said that after his brother was shot in that initial standoff, he got in the car and essentially ran him over trying to escape. Either way, it just seems ridiculous he got away. There's 9K-10K worth of authorities in the area and he's still out there. Obviously he's not going to an airport to get out, either. CNN still insisting the guy is in contact with people through social media or other means, don't know if they are still talking about a fake twitter account or what.
  5. Maybe I have some facts wrong - but I can't believe they had a shootout with both suspects and one was able to get in a car and escape, and now he could be anywhere.
  6. Suspect is apparently upset about his brother being killed and is after everybody. May have a laptop putting things on social media. Per CNN. f*** yourself.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 09:48 AM) Why do the headlines say "explosions" regarding last night? I see no evidence of any explosions. I think because there were some thrown at the police in the initial standoff?
  8. So the killers were out there, and the President was in Boston in the middle of a church? Wow.

  10. Seems the 2nd guy they have in custody isn't one of the 2 they were looking for, still could be a shootout going into the morning trying to get him.
  11. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 01:58 AM) unreal they're saying the second suspect is the missing brown student What the hell
  12. CNN just reported a 2nd guy in custody, black hair, middle eastern complexion...sounds like they got him.
  13. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 01:49 AM) white hat guy identified in photos still at large with assault rifle, and ieds (from police scanner) Oh boy
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 01:38 AM) You'd have to think it's pretty accurate if the Boston Globe, the local newspaper which is quite reputable, is reporting it. It's not the NY Post or Daily News... You'd think, but you never know, everyone always trying to be first. CNN saying multiple explosives were used against police tonight in addition to gunfire.
  15. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Apr 19, 2013 -> 01:23 AM) BostonGlobe: One Marathon bombing suspect has been caught, and another is on the loose in Watertown after a firefight with police, officials said. Great if true, but who knows
  16. That guy has gained thousands of twitter followers in the past hour. Social media sure is something.
  17. Could be 3 unrelated events or all 3 could be linked, no idea yet. Don't even know if MIT and Watertown are connected.
  18. This coverage and that guy's Twitter are nuts. Had live coverage of the one guy on the ground with guns pointed all around him, but worried he had explosives on him.
  19. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 11:04 PM) haha it's not ridiculous man. the types of people who commit crimes like this do it because they want to have power in their lives. more than that, they want to "mean" something, and be "remembered". when the news shows the types of images it has this week ad nauseum, it just shows other crazies that this is the way to find that meaning. it gives them what they want and adds fuel to the fire. It's absolutely ridiculous. You know this for a fact? They all do this because they see things on TV? It's the dumbest, easiest, laziest jump to a conclusion you can create.
  20. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 10:58 PM) there are always "copycats" after big events like the bombing. Newtown was the last in a string of shootings relatively close together. it's the news media's fault IMO Oh God not this ridiculous argument again.
  21. Weird, 2 home followed by 2 away for the first 12 games.
  22. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 09:30 PM) I was actually thinking the opposite. If Miami is up like 3-1 and we're getting blown out in the 4th quarter and it's garbage time if they'd put him in for a couple minutes. Unless "they" is God, no one's putting him in for something pointless like that.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 02:07 PM) And Steve needs a new roof. I think you can pick that up at Target on the drive home.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 12:31 PM) It was more to have something to celebrate going undefeated, division title gave them a way to do it within NCAA rules. People dont understand how rare it was to go through the season without a loss (given they didnt have a bowl game). Illinois has only done it 3 times. It's just weird. Here's a ring for...not playing in a bowl game, not winning a conference, not playing in the conference championship game.
  25. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 01:25 PM) He did it. He sat out the entire f***ing season. Maybe they'll be up 3-0 on Miami and then he'll be all HERE I COME I'M THE SAVIOR THAT WILL HELP US OVERCOME LEBRON
