This Loss is on Ozzie
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2006 -> 10:37 PM) This isn't true at all. People have been complaining about this for a while now. Hell, go back to the first Cleveland game, Ozzie did the same s*** and got Bobby into a jam that he was able to get out of but people were still pissed off about it. This one is on Bobby cause he was horrible BUT if Ozzie continues to do this s*** in the 9th, he's going to blow a ton of saves for Bobby. Even the best of closers usually allow a baserunner in the 9th and that's why they need a whole inning. If you keep putting your closer into a jam, he's going to blow many more saves. Plus, you need to make your calls before the result takes place. Had Thornton went 1-2-3 with 3 k's, i still would have disagreed with the call. Hindsight's 20/20. Unless we have a closer by committe, give the ball to Jenks in the 9th. The one exception i would make is that if there is a NASTY (read: Hafner, etc) lefty leading off the inning, i'd led COTTS face him to start off the inning. Otherwise, quit screwing around. Finally, there is a difference between blaming a loss on someone and criticizing someone. Just because the loss isn't 100% on Ozzie doesn't mean one can't criticize. That's like saying "we won the game, so the manager must have made all the right moves."

This Loss is on Ozzie
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) This loss is on Bobby. That being said, Ozzie does have to stop dicking around in the 9th, enough is enough. ^^^

That was the most unreal game of the playoffs so far. 4 goals in the final 2 or so minutes of the entire game, including 18 seconds into OT. Holy f*** did the Sens give that one away, all three of the final goals Buffalo scored were off brutal, brutal mistakes.

5/5: Sox vs Royals
Not being able to stop the bleeding in the 9th killed us. Unbelievable.

5/5: Sox vs Royals
QUOTE(S720 @ May 5, 2006 -> 10:23 PM) Where did I ever state that I had superior knowledge to Ozzie? He won a World Series I didn't. Am I not allowed to voice my opinion? I just said I don't like how he is OBSESSED with the lefty lefty matchup. So I guess I have to trust you over Ozzie. Don't make me laugh! In some cases it's good to go with the lefty against the lefty. However, in this scenario with the one run game, I STRONGLY feel that it is the closer's game to lose. Therefore you put the ball in your closers hands and you let him get the three outs. Jenks did have three outs with only ONE man on first base. And he FAILED not Ozzie. As for the personal attack calling me a whiner, that's fine. I don't really care what you have to say about me, but I will not lower myself to your level. If I sounded harsh, I apologize. Let's put this to rest. 2 out of 3 ain't bad! Giving Ozzie a free pass the rest of his life because he won a WS is ignorant.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 5, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) I haven't read through the Jenks inning here, but, it would appear people are blaming both Ozzie as well? Get out of here. Thornton was throwing gas in the 8th, he was left in to get the left-hander out and he couldn't do it. The ball was then given to the closer and he just blew the save, plain and simple. It happens. Luckily, this was his first blown save of the year. He clearly didn't have it, it happens. Better luck tomorrow. He may have blown the save, but he should have started the inning. Period. If you have that little confidence in your closer, maybe he shouldn't be your closer in the first place. Who was Thornton facing? Aaron Guiel. That's not exactly Jesus swinging a lefty stick. Jenks sucked, but Thornton was the wrong move and it set the tone for the inning.

Season Tix ?
QUOTE(Timoperezrulez @ May 1, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) does anybody know what the lowest possible price would be for 2007 Sox season tickets for a guy in his 20's looking to buy the cheapest season tickets available?Would stubhub be a cheaper way? Couldn't help but notice that you say your birth year is 1990 Also, a bunch of people/brokers bought season tickets to get WS tickets last year... I have to think the availability next year will be decently reliant on our success this year.

Team record by uniform
Keep in mind...grey is only worn on the road, white only at home...and there's a good chance we'll be a better home team than road team...so while i think it's cool to look at, you have to keep that in mind. It's not just "we suck in grey," it's that those games are all on the road, to start.

QUOTE(The Critic @ May 1, 2006 -> 09:57 AM) I was a HUGE Hawks fan growing up, and I'm a former season-ticket holder at the Stadium. I want them to do well, and I hope for them to do well, I just don't ever expect them to while Worst is their owner. How the hell did you turn into a Wings fan then? I'd think anyone who was a Hawks fan for a long time would never, ever be a Wings fan, regardless of level of sucktitude and Wirtz. It's like a sox fan turning into a cubs fan, perhaps worse...
