If we only shoot 60% from the line tonight, we'll lose. This is what worries me tonight in what figures to be a physical game with a lot of foul calls down low. -
Vorobiev sent down, Yakubov called up. Vorobiev is so far into Yawney's doghouse, wow

Yeah, i think that line is way too high. Most of it has to be due to homecourt, that's probably worth 3 or 4 points right there, in Vegas' mind -
I'd say Colts win 4 out of 5 times, and i'm a Bears fan. But if this matchup means the Bears made it to the Super Bowl, i'll take my chances because on any given day...

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 01:02 AM) Isiah Williams is a stud, Chris James and Marques Wilkins are both VERY good 4 star WR's (EDIT: and 4 star LB Rahkeem Smith, who once upon a time was going to go to Iowa). And then it's depth....there are a lot of solid 3 star players (several of which are almost 4 stars) in a class that has 27 players overall and is still growing. Considering the record of the Illini the last few years, Zook should be given huge props for the class he's putting together this year. Yeah, i believe the depth has a lot to do with that ranking. And yes, Zook is amazing for pulling talent in when this program has pathetic on-field results in the past few years. What the hell does he sell them on? -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 12:59 AM) ISU has a tough time dealing with the Baylor's and Northern Illinois' of the world. I'm pretty confident we'd lose in Champaign. Right now? You'd win. Champaign is far from a road game at this point in time. In a few years, we should have the talent to have a pretty good home record -

Michigan St @ Illinois tonight at 8pm on ESPN2. I believe Nova/Louisville precedes that game at 6. I'm driving down later today for the game. It won't be as big of a homecourt advantage because not many students will be there, but the place should still be rocking. One game does not a season make, but we'll see where the Illini are at this point in the season tomorrow. I'm not going to be shocked at all if we lose, though i'd like to 'hold serve' at home. We're undefeated due to a light schedule, we all know that, but this team is still pretty good IMO win or lose this game. #6 vs #7 in the nation, should be a tight one. Can we control Davis inside? Or get him in foul trouble? I think that will go a long way in deciding it. -

OSU is probably loud as hell, no doubting that. But remember that tonight the crowd was 50/50 in theory... If the Texas fans were smart, they wouldn't have been making any noise during that 4th down play. So only 'half' the stadium would have been making noise. I'm not saying it's louder than OSU, just pointing something out no one's mentioned, i don't think. Also, i was in the horseshoe when it was empty during spring time...what is with those obstructed view seats in the upper deck? Who the hell would ever sit there? You can see only see about half the field in some of those seats. -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 12:50 AM) Iowa State fans and Illinois fans have no room to argue football right now.... Agreed, that's why i didn't understand going out of your way to take a cheap shot at us... At least a top 25 recruiting class is a start...program has to start going up somewhere along the line. -

QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) honestly, after the amazingly exciting bowl season we've had this year, I have a feeling this is going to turn out to be a dud. Owned, as usual. Please predict an MSU victory in the college bball thread. Or just stop making predictions altogether -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 12:06 AM) Ugh...recruiting. Probably the only time Illinois will see the top 25. Perhaps it won't stay that way if Zook can get some talent in here. Also, ISU is a real football juggernaut... Made the Sugar Bowl not too long ago, i believe we were in the top 25 then -

A one dimensional player that basically beat Uconn by himself. Yeah, i'd hate to have him on my team too. -
At this point I hope the Hawks just completely tank and get a top 3 pick. The Hawks haven't been quite bad enough in recent years to land one of the super prospects in the draft. There's really nothing else to play for, this team is brutal. They just don't have the talent to keep up with the majority of these teams. If Tallon wants to start disassembling the roster now, i'd have no problem with it.

Snyder just needs to sing "Eye of the tiger" a few more times to get them back into the elite. -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) Haha, Hawks lose 3-2 to Columbus, despite out shooting them by 22 shots. They thoroughly outplayed them. They had 3 goals disallowed, though i think only one should have been a goal. Denis ended up in the net with the puck and they just blew the whistle for a faceoff and refused to go upstairs. That was a joke. The other 2 weren't goals, but that not being reviewed was terrible. At least the Hawks played much better tonight and didn't pack it in after getting down 3. All 3 goals were off our mistakes. First one was Babchuk, second one was spacek, third one was Aucoin. All got beat for goals.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 04:02 PM) Welp,Going to the Hawks game tonight. Only reason being I have free skybox tickets. I expect a 4-1 Hawks loser, but maybe they will suprise me and lose in OT. I'll be there as well...also not paying for my ticket this time around.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) Iowa will defeat the Illini in Iowa city pretty soon. Your undefeated season will come to an end Sure, I said the same thing last year and we got damn close, damn close. Problem is it's not that big of a homecourt advantage when 1/4 of the crowd is wearing orange. -
SnB loves Halo...he's probably playing it right now

Brutal performance tonight. I don't even know what else to say. I'm back there again Friday, WOOT! Last part should be in some sort of green.

QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) I definitely didn't expect to be undefeated at this point. The biggest reason for the illini being this good is because of jamar smith's ridiculous play for a freshmen. His shooting has saved us in several of these early games. Another win against another made up school tonight. It's been the defense, not Jamar Smith. He hasn't been THAT big of a difference. -

So where are all the Michigan fans now...? As far as the officiating goes...yeah it was terrible. But i don't see how a penalty could have been called on the last play, as both teams had guys on the field. I still don't understand why that guy didn't lateral to Breaston...he could have made one cut to the middle of the field and scored easily had he had the ball.
