I read that article. Absolutely ridiculous By his logic, they should trade wood, prior, and zambrano for position players due to their higher win shares totals. Also, he advocates getting rid of great starting pitchers because they will become expensive pretty soon. We're talking about the Cubs here, not the Royals.

I have my first on Tuesday, another on Saturday night - the last final time of the semester. I had 3 papers and a project due this past week, so this week should be a bit easier. Good luck to everyone as well. We're almost to that long winter break.

Happy Birthday Mike! Thanks for everything you contribute to this board.

I think if you throw Grossman in there right now you are setting him up for failure. Snow, down 18...not a good recipe. Maybe just start him next week -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 11, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) Just a random question; why does every single IU fan play the history card? IMO, the history card only applies if you've experienced the history you are talking about. Do you think i play the Hawks history card to Blues fans? They've never won a cup, and we last won one in 1961. I could care less about titles that were won when i wasn't born/was very little and under a completely different regime. Also, we didn't just make a final four we made it to the national championship game. Bad year to do it, as both UNC and Illinois were 2 of the best teams in recent memory IMO. -

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) Never said they were. Voters in the coaches and AP polls both put them at 15 though, and Indiana should be rewarded as if they beat a #15 team. They will, just as they'll be rewarded for losing to Indiana St. My point was that you can't right off someone's analysis because they aren't an IU fan. If that were the case, we could write off everything you say about IU because you are an IU fan. I'm saying he was correct in saying Kentucky isn't that great of a team, not that they shouldn't be credited for beating them. -

10-0, rolled today in a game that worried me due to short rest and travel. Good to see Dee shooting well, let's hope this continues. -

Kentucky fans are annoying as all hell. I've dealt with them 2 different times since they've played where Illinois has in the tournament (columbus in 04, lost to uab, last year at indy, beat cincy). -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 10, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) I'm a little worried about this game tomorrow. Illinois is without a doubt much better than Oregon, but the game being Portland just two days after the Georgetown game is concerning. The tough travel schedule along with the fact they have been playing a lot of games lately could lead to some fatigue. No doubt. We're on short rest and Oregon has been sitting around for a week. It's a tough matchup regardless of the travel as well. It would be real, real nice to pull this one out though. -

QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) what a good, solid impressive win for us. augustine/pruitt really contained their big man and we were very pacient on offense. I was outside in a blizzard for 2 hours to get floor seats, i'm cold. Those are some well-constructed sentences. What school do you go to again? -

Illinois coach Bruce Weber received some bad news Wednesday when doctors said backup point guard Chester Frazier would be out four to eight weeks because of a slight tear in a left thigh muscle and a strained quadriceps. The loss of the freshman playmaker means Weber doesn't have a true point guard to back up Dee Brown. Plans call for Rich McBride to move from off guard to the point when Brown is rested during Thursday night's home game with Georgetown and in Saturday's game against Oregon in Portland. Weber plans to try Calvin Brock at the point. The 6-foot-5-inch redshirt freshman toured Spain last summer with a Big Ten team Weber coached. -

We're -7 right now. Need to win this game at home as there's a good chance we drop the game saturday at oregon. Although who knows...gtown beat them by 14 in oregon last week. Going to be a tough game, especially with their strength being inside, as steve said. -
