  1. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 05:22 PM) I haven't said jack about the Bears, until today. I'm not going to go find it, but when one week this year when the bears lost and the colts won, after bears fans were flipping out, you put in italics "a great day all around" Also, the "who would win" thread between the bears and colts that you created...
  2. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) Well it looks like everyone on SoxTalk is happy. Good for you guys. The Colts had a lot of gifts and did nothing with them. Vanderjagt is still an idiot kicker. And the Colts are still the Atlanta Braves of the NFL. Well, you haven't been unhappy when the Bears have lost, so i don't know what you are expecting. Also, we didn't want the refs to decide the game. So yes, good for us.
  3. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 03:21 PM) Hey, I now know why Sports Illustrated used Manning and Brady for the main cover picture instead of the World Champion White Sox. They weren't going to get the chance to do that for the AFC Championship game. Booya
  4. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 03:09 PM) Well if there are no more bad calls and the Steelers lose, the players and coaches won't be blaming the officials. Just like Eddings gave the White Sox an extra chance, the officials gave the Colts an extra chance. It's horrible, but Crede still had to hit off Escobar and the Colts still have to drive here. Huge difference. The Sox calls were human error during live play. This one was a replay with a terrible call afterwards. Not even a comparison in my mind.
  5. When it gets to OT the Steelers will call tails, and it will be a 2 headed coin.
  6. Someone's going to say "you don't b**** when the sox get the same types of breaks" To that person i say: The refs were able to use video replay to reverse that call. During the sox game, they didn't have that luxury and it was human error on those calls.
  7. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 03:02 PM) you would lose (the spread was like 9.5) I would have bet the colts to win, not using spreads.
  8. If i knew the league would prevent the colts from losing, i would have bet my life savings on this game.
  9. Why don't you just give the Colts 20 extra points while you're at it
  10. It was indeed packed tonight and a pretty good atmosphere. I finally saw a W during this christmas break after seeing 4 losses at the UC until tonight. Wirtz must want to play the penguins all 41 games. Back to maybe 8,000 on Sunday if they are lucky, Bears game and all.
  11. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 09:30 AM) For all you cheapskates that don't have enough WS gear. http://shop.mlb.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=1840212 For all 'you cheapskates?'
  12. I've yet to come to a conclusion on Yawney, and i don't think i will for a while. To his defense, the talent he has to work with is complete bulls***. For those of us who actually know the game and the players, you realize that there are 3rd and 4th liners playing on the top two lines. As far as the defense goes, on any given night he has maybe 2-3 defenseman that could cut it as a #3 or #4 on some teams. No, Aucoin has not been a #1 this year, not even a #2. Then Khabibulin has been a letdown (and is now hurt), so we've got a backup in net in Anderson. All i'm saying is unless you really, really know the game of hockey, layoff Yawney at this point. His system may not be perfect, but this roster has almost no talent and the goals that have been scored haven't been due to system flaws as much as you would all like to think. It's just guys making terrible decisions, terrible passes, terrible coverage. That's not something you can just throw on the coach. Not even close.
  13. I just got back from rioting in Chicago... Thank God for fluke goals, 2 of them tonight helped us to a W. Now we can go get pounded by the Flyers, who are on fire.
  14. Quinn must have perfected his rendition of "Eye of the Tiger"
  15. "Newspapers don't give away their paper for free" - Wirtz
  16. This is a bit closer to the real Illini team you will see all year. If Dee's off, like he was today, we'll have trouble scoring. Of course, we can't just rely on him for points, but he has to shoot better than 1-10 from 3 point range, at least that's what i think it was. The problem with this offense is that we don't do s*** for the first 20 seconds...often time the ball remains above the key the entire time. Then we realize we have to take a shot, and we only look to Dee to create something or shoot. It's gotten real old, real fast. Today's performance was the MSU game minus Dee going off. The defense will keep us in almost every ball game this year, but unless Augie and Randle/McBride step up on the offensive end, we aren't going to win the big ten title this year. This team is still a pretty good team. We all know they aren't as good as last year's team. But I think many of our mistakes are fixable, and the motion offense usually gets better over time. Jason make an Iowa sig and put it in for me and i'll leave it there for 2 weeks. Illinois lost, i'll man up and do it.
  17. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 01:03 AM) When did I say the Hawks were talented? The NHL is more talented than the AHL, and given the opportunity the Hawks would beat the Wolves by 6 or 7. There's a reason Steve Maltais and the like were on the Wolves, BECAUSE THEY SUCK. Maltais had 9 goals in 126 NHL games. But damn, did he ever tear it up in the I and the A. Hell, he scored 100 points 4 years in a row. What talent they have down there in the minors... Don't bother, this is the worst argument ever. It's not worth your time.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 11:09 PM) Is that the Illini one or who do we got next? I know we play the Illini pretty soon and I said we are going to give them there first lost and I'm not backing down from that stance. I just remember looking at the big 10 schedule and we have a hell of a start to it, which is probably a good thing cause than we can at least take our big 10 season start dump against good competition. Steve and Brian know its coming Sig bet
  19. Dee Brown. What a night. Our defense shut down Ager all night and Davis but all for about 10 minutes. Only Shannon's shooting kept them in that game in the second half. Someone else has to score, and we need to take shots before 5 seconds are left on the shot clock, or we aren't going to win a lot of big ten games. Thank God he bailed us out tonight though. It was just Dee's game.
