  1. Isn't in in April this year? Totally not worth it
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) It's about pace not just how good a team is defensively. UNC plays soid defense but they as well as the rest of the ACC plays more up tempo resulting in higher scores. Wake doesn't play any D and Duke's D which year in and year out is very good just isn't that good this due to personnel. Very true. Also, look at FG% against. That's also a good defensive indicator.
  3. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) I thought he was quite complimentary of the Illini last night. So he likes North Carolina's potential as well. Who cares? What does it matter whether he "likes" the Illini or not? Sometimes I think he could say Illinois is the best basketball team to ever exist on this earth and someone would find fault with something he said about them last year. You guys have a great team. Lighten up!! I'm used to Vitale. I don't let it bother me anymore. And he's been fine lately. I have better things to worry about, like this team winning games.
  4. Buying from eliminated teams' fans is how i might have to get some tickets this year. Last year in Atlanta, right after we lost, i had my tickets in my hand walking back to the hotel. I got majorly lowballed by some Duke fans, so i wasn't about to sell them. I ended up taking mine and my friends tickets to the concierge (sp?) and asking him if he knew of anyone who needed em. Like clockwork, xavier fans started pouring in to the hotel and we were able to sell them for basically face value the next day, i think just a little less.
  5. Skip the first Illini game. Then go buy tickets from other teams' fans who get eliminated. Since most of them probly bought tickets to all sessions, once their team is gone, they'll be looking to sell immediately. You should be able to find tickets for a decent price by doing this.
  6. So i'm late on this because i had to leave for hockey immediately after the game was over All i can say is 22-0. Any questions?
  7. The risk is just too great for this to even be tried.
  8. I don't know, i think it's fake, but i can't slow it down or anything.
  9. Never said it was the be all end all. But you just mentioned Devin Harris. The guy was STUD. Williams, Head, Brown = Studs. I'd like to see him win a big ten championship with a backcourt comprised of mcbride and brock. Won't happen. I'd rather have a good coach than a good recruiter if pressed, but i will still stand by the fact that you still need talent to win. Weber is a GREAT coach. But he still needs the help in the recruiting aspect.
  10. I don't think anyone is doubting his coaching abilities. But you still need some great talent to win big ten championships.
  11. 3 times a week? That's a lot man. Portillo's jumbo chili cheese dog with onions Good call Steve

  13. Remember a few years ago when they were thinking about acquiring Burnitz and putting him in center? LMAO. Have fun with Jeromy, boys.
  14. Yeah, i watched it. Bogut is pretty damn good. Too bad no one saw this game.
  15. Can i subscribe to your newsletter? This is hilarious.
  16. Actually i find this stat quite interesting...BP does some great stuff with stats. If nothing else, it introduces us to another evaluation tool.
  17. It was the #9, 7, 5, 3, and 1 play on the SC top ten.
  18. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) Let me clarify what I meant. They aren't going to "drop off the map." That would require going from their current level back to somewhere in the bottom couple spots in the Big Ten. But unless Webber gets Jamont Gordon or can keep Brown and Williams here, I see them struggling for a tourney bid next year. It's a little early to guess the quality of the 2006-07 team, but I think it would take at least two McDonald's All-Americans to keep them out of the same position. Webber will probably eventually get some better guys in here, but right now he is nowhere near the recruiter Self proved to be in his short tenure. That's going to hurt them in the immediate future. I agree with what you say. I still think we can make the tournament next year. And yes, we need some stud recruiting classes sooner than later...but i think after this year they will start to come. If they don't, then we're in some trouble.
  19. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) I wouldn't bet on U of I dominance for the next couple years just yet. They lose Head, Powell, Smith, and Ingram, probably more. If by some miracle Brown, Williams, and Augustine are all back (Augustine should be, but they'll probably lose at least one of the first two) they'll be pretty good but not stellar. They could definitely struggle in the next couple of years because Webber hasn't exactly been doing well in recruiting (and there is only one uncommitted impact guy even considering Illinois left for next season). They'll need at least 1 player next year and at least 3 players in two years from guys like McBride, Randle, Brock, Carter, and Pruitt to become major contributors (at least double figure scoring) to avoid a slide in the near future. They need to start reloading big time starting with the Class of 2006, otherwise the next 3 years could be rough. They'll be helped by a conference that is declining in strength over years past, but not that much. We won't be near what we are now, but a final four/national championship will help the school recruit itself. Recruiting has been disappointing thus far, but hardly any new coaches to the big-time recruited real well off the bat. It's going to take a little while, but i don't see us dropping off the map anytime soon (or for that matter, much below IU, which was the original claim).
  20. I agree it won't top the ratings of the Wisky game...at least i wouldn't think so just because of the lure of the "streaks" last week. Key element is Davis. How healthy is he? Can Powell contain him inside. Can we get him in foul trouble? I have no doubt the guards will be solid. Hopefully Augie can step up with another Wisky performance (minus the early fouls) as well.
  21. It shouldn't be 3 points either way i don't think. #10 team at home...where we have been owned...i don't think we should be favored by 3. Money would definitely flow towards MSU if that were the case.
  22. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 31, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Latest odds I've seen have Illinois favored by 1 tomorrow. Wonder where Man of Steel is with his "I'll give you 16" comments now. Soon to be broke I'll probly stay away from that line, as i did with the Wisky line.
