  1. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) Anyways have fun, Id hope your athletic program atleast was better than Wisconsin at 1 sport. You have football. Would you like to compare the rest of your athletic program to ours? Don't talk out of your ass
  2. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) If Illinois is up 8 at home with 10 minutes left, you would not consider it a game they "should" have won? lol Its amusing to see all of the Illini fans come out of the wood work, but at the same time I hope that all of you do not believe the hype... SB Please just shutup already. Come out of the woodwork? Should have won? Don't buy the hype? Why don't you worry about your badgers. Sour grapes at this point. Just give it up.
  3. Wisconsin should have won? Whatever, think what you want. We had to win at some point? You've went 2-1 against us last year, whoopty-do. You won at home, we won at home...you won a MEANINGLESS big then championship game with guys on our team banged up. Big friggin deal. That wasn't at Kohl Center. Yes, i said it, you won't win at Assembly Hall.
  4. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) I think Wisconsin should of won, but at a critical time when they were 8 up they got complacent and pulled both Tucker and Wilkinson. Illinois played a very good game, and I think that they are far more talented in the back court than Wisconsin is. That being said, I do not think Illinois is unbeatable, and I think a lot of people are getting ahead of themselves thinking that they are going to sweep the Big 10. Congrats on the win, hopefully Wisconsin learns from this and is ready for Assembly Hall, the Big 10 tourney, and the NCAA. SB Well first of all i don't know how you can say Wisconsin should have won. Our backcourt is much more talented than yours, yes. Of course Illinois is beatable. We COULD sweep the Big Ten, especially if we win at MSU, but we'll play it one game at a time. I've already said i don't care if we drop a game, i'd rather not be undefeated. I think Wisky will learn from the loss, but i don't see how it will help them in Assembly Hall. You won't win there.
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 26, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) Columbus also has a good nucleus of some young players. Rick Nash, and that Russian kid -- grr, his name doesn't come to mind right now (and I'm not talking about Ovechkin, either). Boy, I hope this is true. I miss watching some of our young Hawks like Vandermeer, Ruutu, Bell, Arny, and Calder develop. While this isn't a real great time to be a Hawk fan, it sure is fun watching them develop -- lots of young players, no old vets (Korolev and Krapov gone! Beautiful! ) taking away PT from the kids. Plus -- It'll be a joy watching our blueline develop over the next five years. Byfuglien, Wisnewski, Babchuk, Barinka, Barker, Seabrook -- definitely a nice start, as well as a boatload of others at Norfolk... Zherdev
  6. I understand your points, but for some people, i think the "lack of faith" was just more of a "lack of overconfidence", and rightly so. 16 points? I think you're nuts, but you can think what you want.
  7. First off, Illini won't win by 16 at MSU Second of all, it was a tossup game in my mind because of the streak, yes...but we've had better teams than Wisky go into Kohl and lose time after time after time. It wasn't a huge lack of faith, it was just the nervousness of not being the huge favorite in a game for once.
  8. Rumor has it a deal could be done with a 40 million dollar soft cap and then a dollar for dollar luxury tax up to a 50 million hard cap.
  9. f*** YEAH!!!!!!!! Just got done with the game....38-Owned is about all i have to say. Guards step it up, Bench steps it up (mcbride, ingram, ingram again), and we roll onto 20-0. What a game, what an effort.
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) I don't think you are understanding what I'm trying to say. I said don't get too cocky and think the Illini are going to beat everyone. Not just you, but mostly the team and their fan base. For example, my HS's team started 7-0 and everyone was kissing their ass saying they were going to win state and then they went out and lost two in a row. Tonight will be a tough game, and I have a feeling they are going to lose. I do not want them to lose; however, because the Illini are one of my favorite teams. I don't think you understand the English language. When have i ever been cocky, mr. "wisky by 15"? I don't need to put up with people who talk out of their ass.
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) It's not likely, but Wisconsin does have a stiffling D and they are at home. Just don't get too cocky. When was i ever cocky? You're the one calling for the Iowa team to show up again (which remind you resulted in a win nonetheless). Plus, our D is pretty damn good. Your posts are ridiculous.
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jan 25, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) Nope. I'm actually rooting for Illinois, I was just stirring the pot. If they play like they did against Iowa at home, they will lose by 15+ in Madison. Good luck having them shoot 32% again.
  13. Saying Wisconsin has nothing to lose and everything to gain and illinois has nothing to gain and everything to lose is complete and utter bulls***, and pretty ignorant. Flat-out false. Also, if Illinois wins tonight, it will be tough for them to lose 2 Big Ten games. And you'll already have 2 losses.
  14. And please don't say you are underdogs in this game, because you aren't. If anything it's an even game or you are possibly favored because of the streak and how s***ty we've played up there. Now, i know what the vegas line says, but that line is only used to get the betting even on both sides, NOT predict the scoring margin or who will win. I think this game is flat out even
  15. No, pressure is definitely a bit higher on Wisconsin. It's their 38 game home winning streak on the line and if they have any chance of winning the Big Ten, they have to take this game. People have been pointing to this game for a long time as Illinois' first loss. Wisky can't afford to drop it while Illinois "can" and still win the Big Ten. If you think there is pressure for the undefeated season, i don't think anyone is thinking about that, nor do i even want it to be honest.
  16. This game will go down to the final few minutes, and it will be within 10 points...and that's the only prediction i'm going to throw out. I have no gut feel for this game right now, and i'm not going to go with a homer call just for kicks. There's a buzz around campus already, and it's 10:30. This game of all games could go either way...there are plenty of reasons on both sides for each team to win. My key to the game is Wilkinson. If we can control him/get him in foul trouble early (this means penetrate the lane), i think Illinois wins this game. If he goes off and dominates, which he is capable of doing, along with the huge home crowd, Wisconsin will take it. Either way, this will not make/break our season. That isn't to say this game isn't huge, and i'm not downplaying it, but if we win it doesn't guarantee us s*** come March, and if we lose it doesn't "ruin" or season, or anything close to that. I'm just saying that after the game people shouldn't be yelling for the national championship or trashing the Illini left and right (and i won't have posts on here til 2-3am after i'm done watching the tape of the game) To be honest, i think there is more pressure on Wisconsin in this game. Should be a fun one.
  17. Well, today's the day. Illinois @ Wisconsin. 8pm, ESPN. Illinois undefeated, Wisconsin with a 38 game home winning streak. One of these ends tonight. Should be one hell of a game. I'm going to be watching on tape delay, as i won't get home from hockey practice til 1230 or so. Thank you to whoever changed gametime from 6pm to 8pm last week.
  18. Iowa probly shouldn't have moved, makes sense to me. Who the hell voted for Duke to be #1? LOL.
  19. Not having to watch Harris start this year, this is just epic. Get the snow off the ground, let's play some ball
  20. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) Kam's, it's second semester. Even freshman shouldn't be going there anymore I missed this originally, but good God, why is anyone besides a freshman girl going to Kam's? Also, stay away from CO's while were at it.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 12:09 AM) You know you were sweating it out thinking I may of just been right. Hell, I hate being proud of a loss, but playing Illi like the Hawks did I gotta be happy. s*** though, when its that close you just really wish they could of pulled off the upset. I actually was thinking during the game "s***, somewhere jason's yelling at his TV 'i told you kenny!'"
  22. A decision on randle is supposed to come in the next week or two. Personally, i'd like to see him come back (as opposed to red shirting). I think he gives us something off the bench we currently don't have, a 3/4 who plays some pretty good defense and is versatile. Currently we have 2 bigs off the bench who can bang inside on D and get some fouls, and one guard off the bench. Randle would be a dream in the NCAA's to guard a guy like, say, Jawad Williams, or a player of that nature. Any game where we get in foul trouble in the tournament and Randle would become very valuable.
  23. Well you guys act like 5 year olds. It's a thread you want no part of, yet you have to make a point to shoot out some s*** to the actual hockey fans. Just think if baseball was gone for you, you wouldn't want people throwing this crap around on you all the time. Besides, it's all stupid talk, nothing but "f*** hockey. hockey sucks. f*** it." Worthless posts by everyone. BTW, i didn't start it, only responded in it. And there is a new thread because there were recent meetings.
