  1. This is a solid idea. When PS2 came out there were lines everywhere the night before, waiting for it to come out in the morning. I went to Sears over by the mall at about 1:00 am and was the first one in line with my friend. They had like 11 copies of it. You have to look for places like that that no one will think of.
  2. I preordered it at the exact same place you did, and they said they would have it Tuesday. That being said, i'm going to stop there on my way home after work and see if they have it already.
  3. I get along quite well with all the Cardinals fans when i'm in Champaign, it works out nicely.
  4. Another easy tip...leave during fireworks if there are any friday/saturday. I was out of the lot yesterday in about 30 seconds.
  5. EB says they'll have it Tuesday since it ships Monday, i'll have it in 2 days then
  6. Yeah, so can Ross Gload.....
  7. Starts with a nice dong, then some crazy music. I think the music is fine and fits him perfectly. He probly approved of the music or they wouldn't be playing it. Yeah, no 5 game losing streak. Nice to hear "na na na na" again.
  8. I couldn't believe the crowd tonight. The Shingo entrance is money, it's Gagne-esque. I also noticed the higher than normal asian crowd, hopefully shingo can get a following.
  9. Schaumburg is really dark, light rain...it was really pouring about 20 mins ago
  10. You want to have your cake and eat it too, i see* *Note: Not having to put up with a substantial rain delay may or may not be a reasonable expectation 530? Wow, is the sun even up at that time? Last time i was up at 530...i was still up from the night before.
  11. They'll play, you'll just have to sit through some rain again. I've never cared if there's rain delays...as long as they play eventually
  12. Does Tom Skilling hate you?
  13. I know when to keep quiet... Cheer up Steff it's FRIDAY.
  14. Agreed, all you can ask for is an honest effort from management and the players, and a respect for the fans. I agree that baseball games are a great way to spend a day/night. The only thing that wouldn't make that true is if the team plays without heart.
  15. Ya, i was just using a hypothetical situation, not really this year's situation with the white sox specifically
  16. Good point, but i think some of it also "hell if my team doesn't spend money or give a crap about winning, why should i give them my money" See: Chicago Blackhawks I go to a few games a year (and it's even harder no living here during the season), but if they spent money and committed to winning and didn't treat the fans like crap, more people would go more often. Until then, Wirtz will stare at empty seats.
  17. Throwing it back gets you very few cheers, i should trust you on this? Maybe i'll trust my own observation on that one Of course you won't throw it back if it's hit by a Sox player. No one wants you to. In case you didn't know, the tradition is to throw opposition home runs back. No one would cheer throwing a Sox HR back. Gee, great point, Brando Man, if you felt good about throwing a home run back, you need help. And now you are just making pure bulls*** up in hopes of looking good. Get a life.
  18. "Cut the crap. We all know why people throw the ball back. They want to look cool and be cheered in front of the few hundred people around them. Not throwing it back results in boos and only a few cheers from the season ticket holders behind the place that can't even be heard. To not throw it back is turning down a moment in the sun (and moment to look like a jackass to good sox fans)" Please, Brando
  19. I can argue it by saying "who the hell has done that" Besides, i'd have much more respect for someone if they brought it home and put it on their desk or something as opposed to acting like a hooligan and throwing it on the field
  20. I've never built a shrine for a baseball, but good try I'd give it to a kid. I've never caught a home run ball And your whole thing about "it is out of place on the northside" makes no sense whatsoever. It is out of place on the southside to say the least

I saw my name as a title of a thread and my first thought was "why doesn't steff just PM me, weird"
  22. I guess Torre assumes he'll make it to the world series, so why not take the homefield advantage using primarily his players.... Yeah, this is ridiculous, but what can you do about it.
  23. My quick input: -Terrible "tradition"...and fake baseballs are even worse -Wrigleyville-esque, enough said -Give it to a kid -Player doesn't care And finally, my most important point -It doesn't take the run off the board, you just look like an idiot for throwing it back. Gee, way to show em..."i'll throw this back, how you like that!" If you need to throw a ball back onto the field to feel good about yourself, you have problems.
  24. Happy bday, no michigan/detroit insults in this post just for you
  25. Yes, he recruits very well. This will be a nice test to say how could he can actually coach some good young talent. If he doesn't, i'm sure he'll be under a great amount of fire (not that he isn't already). Talent doesn't do all that much if the coaching isn't there to support it. It will only win you X amount of games. Hopefully he can mesh the young talent with the existing talent, mainly Bracey...and then hope he stays another year.
