Mac, Jurko, Harry sounding off on Mariotti...again
IlliniKrush replied to CSF's topic in Pale Hose Talk
They are also pissed that management said they couldn't have callers rip on Mariotti during "critics at extra large" yesterday. The segment got cut real early last night. They are letting callers go off on him later. I have been laughing aloud at the first half hour of this show. It's just great to listen to Mariotti bashing. -
Preordered today as well, and they will have it on the 13th If i don't ever post again on Soxtalk, blame this game.

I screwed up the allies, 10/11. Shouldn't have missed it, stupid
-
Jason, Thanks for all the hard work you do with the futuresox stuff. Not being able to see any of these guys play, i rely on you guys for information about our minor league teams and prospects. You guys really do an excellent job making the fans here more knowledgeable

"Available" players mentioned on ESPN.com
IlliniKrush replied to ZoomSlowik's topic in Pale Hose Talk
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?id=1835426 Marlins need to move some pitching for a bat, that lineup just isn't good enough However, i doubt they'd move both Penny AND Pavano...with Beckett's injury problems, they would find themself with too many pitching problems then -
Before this thread turns completely useless, what do you guys think changed about this supposedly new offer. Years? Money per? Less 'backloaded'? This is really interesting if true
-
It would be nice if Uribe was the reason we win games in the second half as well, as he's been crashing down to earth and an alarming rate in the last month.
-
This will all be solved when Maggs is back in right, and Gload can be used as a lefty PH off the bench - where he will be very valuable. He is simply not a right fielder, he is really clueless out there on routes to balls to say the least, as well as actually catching it. That 'experiment' needs to stop, or should have stopped, already.

I'm cheap, and throw right handed
-
That should be a fun weekend because my sister goes to western michigan and i go to illinois. That should be a win
-
The highs and lows on this board are just so extreme every week, it does get a bit ridiculous. Like cowbell said...i'm not happy, but no panicking. Just go win a few games and turn it around
-
By rotting in the pen, do you mean warming up or getting his work in all the time and never entering the game? God that was a joke Why is Jackson still on this club?
-
Too drinky?
-
He also writes that column for espn.com college football section every week that explains a strategy part of the game, anything from the option to the 4-3 defense, stuff like that. I found them very entertaining last year. You are right, he is a great analyst

July 4th hangover? We need a game thread boyz
IlliniKrush replied to sox-r-us's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Not all was lost today. Grandstand actually had my jersey finished. Only positive game experience today. Game turned from electric to super gay in a matter of a pitch to Davanon. Blah to that game. -
LMAO As ozzie says, the beer tastes better when you win
-
God damn kids

All things considered, Pavano It's too hard to speculate on who's for sure going to be available and what our budget will look like. Many things will be determined by the outcome of this season.
-
I don't think any have either I hope it's a sell out or close, but the possible rain could keep some people away.

Real excited to have him here, said Ozzie helped out, but Freddy also wanted to be here. Asking about restrictions in offseason...Kenny says this in no way shape or form does this eliminate a magglio signing...says he told maggs that personally...won't talk about the "exact offer" made to Maggs thus far. It's in no one's best interest for that information to get out The relationship between them is not as bad as people think it is, their is friendship on both sides. He's amazed about the bad talk out there over the air waves and such. Coaches are good communicators...players and coaches are constantly communicating about expectations and what is on everyone's mind Looking forward to a good 2nd half, things are looking up, Minne has a tough 2nd half schedule coming up All star talk...rest for guys who didn't make it is nice, but he wants those guys to receive accolades for what they've done, says konerko thomas buehrle garcia belong there, maybe even uribe. You could make a case for Maggs he says Talking about what he's looking for...says the players need a pat on the back for encouragement so he doesn't want to say what he's working on and what specific position. Doesn't want to make anyone uncomfortable or something that hurts the ball club. Says the Cubs series is over, at least we beat minnesota, gives credit to cubs pitchers. Hopefully it's behind them and they can go on a roll now. ********************* Hope that helps for those who missed it, don't know how much sense it makes

Someone can now change this thread title to "recap" or something.

I'm pumped The Cell should be absolutely rocking tonight, this is a real shot in the arm for the fans.

Whose streak was most impressive?
IlliniKrush replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
It wasn't terrible, though. The game tying hit could have been fielded, probly...i'm sure you'll see a replay -
I like him as a coach, but maybe i'm just comparing him to Davie too much I think Willingham had/has an Ozzie-like effect on the team, they are happy to play for him, and i'm sorry if this offends anyone, but i think he can relate/recruit the black athlete a lot better. I think that will help the team in the future. You can't overlook what he did in 2002 though, that was just an amazing year. Sure, we took a beating last year, but look at the friggin schedule. Again this year, not many easy games at all. Every W is big, every game is a grueling fight. This year's recruiting class was supbar, mainly a result of the poor season i believe. The academic standards don't help that either. The year before that, though, the recruiting class was good. I'm anxious to see what Willingham does with this team. And a top recruiting class doesn't guarantee success, nor does a non top 10 class guarantee mediocrity. Ask Mack Brown. I just think the standards at ND are so high and there's so much pressure, and because of that he's under some premature fire. I mean come on, he had to endure last year with a s***ty/then a freshman quarterback. It's hard to tell ND alums, but give it a little time. I'm not hitting the panic button on him yet.

Yeah, but winning on the road in the Big Ten is real tough. We weren't supposed to win that game by any means. And looking back on it, it turned our season around after a terrible game up in Madison. You still had some talent on that team but your lack of an inside game turned your team into 3 pt chuckers 24/7. You'll be a force to be reckoned with this year, and finish in the top 1/3 of the Big Ten i'd say. I'm looking forward to watching your team play. I don't know how serious of a Final Four contender we were last year, we were kind of a darkhorse for it...but i think this year we are about as legit as we can be. Can't wait.
