Oh, it was the 2000 game? Then you deserve everything you had coming to you Just kidding...BUT IT WAS A FUMBLE.

Starters becoming too tired? More looks at Diaz?

Fights at Hawks games aren't the reason people aren't going. There haven't been many in the games i've been to over the past 3-4 years (I was at 4-5 last year, and 10 the year before). I could write for pages upon pages why people don't go, i'll summarize it in one word: Wirtz.

Jim, all your 8 points are pretty good, i like #4 though because it's something that i don't think has been talked about much anywhere. I really do think alcohol causes the majority of this stuff. That's not an excuse, certainly...but too drinkee (as Boers would say) is not good at sporting events.

Cwsox, i wouldn't doubt you had a problem at an Illinois/Michigan game. Most people are so damn obnoxious and hate Michigan so bad that they'll jump at anyone with Michigan garb on. I mean, we don't have thousands of shirts flying around with "muck fichigan" on them for nothing. Hopefully it doesn't happen again

I had bears season tickets when they were in Champaign (i was a freshman). I saw numerous fights at the Packer monday night game (i had seats in the horse shoe). Also a decent amount at the Vikings game. Other than that it was OK down there. I was at the miracle comeback against SF a few years back, and there were plenty of fights at that game.

While we are on it, might as well throw this out: Games this weekend at Wrigley. My best guess is that it will be 75-80% Cubs fans. That's just my guess, don't kill me if i'm way off or anything. Friday i'm going for sure, Saturday i might go SRO. With smaller numbers of Sox fans, i think we need to just keep our mouths shut for the most part, because everyone is an even bigger target. Hell, you could end up being the only Sox fan within 50 feet of someone. I've been to Sox/Cubs at wrigley the past 4 years...6 or 7 games i think. Cubs win, i get harrassed walking out. Sox win, i still am quiet as hell. I've had crap thrown at me before 2 years ago. Just don't give them the time of day...just don't turn around or anything. If you need security go for it, but unless someone is extremely intoxicated, they'll lay off you after a while, i think. I don't know what to say about TexSox post besides the fact that he's wrong about the no fights at Hawks games. I agree people should complain more often (but don't do it in front of the offending person), i don't really know what else to do. Is telling people hey, be civil not an option? Ya, sarcasm.

Interesting, interesting take JimH. You have a very good thought process there. I've been to many of the Wings/Hawks games over the years. I don't think i necessarily get mad that the Wings fans wear jerseys and come in droves. It's just that i hate the wings. But even more, i hate our fans for not buying up the tickets and preventing this from happening in the first place (or Wirtz for selling them to them, i've heard stuff about selling directly to groups of them). In fact, thought i hate Detroit, i'll give their fans some credit for traveling in droves to support their team. Note that this doesn't mean the fair weather Chicago resident that wants to look cool in a Wings jersey. Those people get none of my respect. I think it adds to the rivalry and the atmosphere of the game. Now, i don't agree that fighting adds to the atmosphere of the game, don't get me wrong there. I appreciate wearing my team's colors to opposition stadiums (i've done this the most with the Illini). I see your point, JimH, and it's smart. Maybe some will call me to young or naive (i'm almost 21), but i just think i know what lines not to cross. When i wear my colors, i realize i'm in the opposition's stadium. I will cheer, but not go absolutely nuts or cheer at someone or against the opposition, etc. At IU, i was in the student section for a bball game. I got harrassed like all hell, believe me, but i just didn't talk back to ANYONE except the friend i was there with, and there were no problems, overall. I'd like to think i'm smart enough to realize i'm in the minority and while supporting your team, don't make yourself a huge target. I'd like to think most people could do this.

I don't agree with that philosophy at all. Scho needs to be given plenty of starts before his job is gone. You don't lose your job to a rookie that looked good once thus far. I asked about Schoe going to the pen last week or so, and asked how he would be used, etc, if he ended up there. I remember jason saying something like "be very afraid if he goes to the pen" because of his attitude problems and stuff, and his history of that in Anaheim. Just thought i'd throw that in there.

My dad had Hawks season tickets since i was born until they moved to the UC, and i made almost every game since i got into first grade. So i've seen 200+ games there (chicago stadium) Even being that young, i remember PLENTY of fights. The bright yellow security jackets scrambling in the balcony to break it up. I was in the second balcony, on the goal line where the locker room entrance was. Man there were plenty of fights. And game 4 of the 2002 playoff series vs the Blues saw a HUGE scrum in section 330 or so - I was in 326 behind the net.

What Jim H has to say is pretty much right on. I just don't think they care enough, and like taking care of the problems when they actually happen - they aren't into preventing anything from possibly happening. However, 2 years ago when 2 of my friends got kicked out for having cans of root beer in the stadium (yes, it was not beer or anything), they got kicked out immediately. They claimed they used "cameras" to catch them. I did not know they brought them in (we were tailgating so we had pop with us), and it's a stupid thing to do, though far from a terrible behavior. But man, they acted like my 2 friends were ex convicts. It was ridiculous. Kicked them out for drinking pop. We were in the upper deck, and no they weren't going to throw cans at anyone. They can be so worried about that stuff, then just let abusive fans have a field day during games, leading to fights. I'm not complaining, just explaining. Though i don't think they should have been kicked out immediately, that was quite harsh.

He's as stoned as the sausage pizza in the Connie's pizza race

Jimy Williams sucks Gammons says he's gone the day after the All Star game if the Astros don't turn it around in the what next 12-13 games
-
Cotts, Diaz, Rauch in pen...has a ton of potential, but also scares me at the same time, especially in a playoff hunt. Hopefully it won't be too big of an issue with our starters consistently going 6+
-
Correct. After he also predicted a Cubs sweep this weekend. He was wrong, so this was right up his alley.

This thread can be locked for all i care. You aren't getting Giles OR Peavy from San Diego if they are making a run. Take out Giles, insert Maggs? What sense does that make? That's barely adding

I'm not getting in the middle of 3 guys throwing punches, especially considering my age and size. If anyone was hitting someone younger, or a girl, i might change my mind then.

Mac, Jurko Harry show is just ripping apart Mariotti for this morning's comments. It's friggin golden. Haven't stopped for a half hour.

I can't help but laugh at this, it's hilarious, even if it's not socially acceptable.

HOW THE HELL IS RUDY NOT ON THIS LIST? RIDICULOUS Also, i like the scene in Field of Dreams, "wanna have a catch." How is that not on there?

Oh, and now she says the officer went after the son first after pushing the girl. She also claims a witness that saw everything and was sticking up for them was escorted out of the park and won't be heard from.
-
She claims that the officer pushed her daughter in law, and that's when the fight started.
