  1. CWSGuy, i'll be there for tomorrow's game. I, too, have wondered how reliable stubhub and other such ticket services are.
  2. The Derek Lowe i've seen this year has either been really, really good or really, really foul. I'd probly take a chance on him though...
  3. I'm typing this with my fingers crossed... A win this afternoon would make everyone around here feel much better. Come on Jon, you have another chance here. Let's do something with it.
  4. Does anyone know for sure who is starting for both Cal St and SC? Is Cal St. going to go with Windsor? It's a tough call, but you can't win it if you don't get there. He can always pitch game 3 anyway.
  5. The Bulls need to trade one/both of the picks, i think that much is pretty obvious. You don't both those picks in this draft. You would think they acquired the 7 to make a move with it
  6. Thank God for that. At least the kid is safe right now, that's the most important part of this
  7. He'd be a welcome bat, but i think you could get more than that for Maggs
  8. I'm trying to stay level headed, and not just have this slump cause me to "give up" on the season. I'm trying to take a true view at what the team has, what it needs, and what it would take to get it. Right now all signs point to "wait a little bit longer to see how the team plays" That's the easy answer for now, but that can't be used for much longer. Sure, our division is very winnable with a few moves, but i want more than the division. Sure, it'd be great, but if KW is going to give up Reed/Borchard/Rauch/XXX/Add payroll, this team better do some damage. Does this team have it? Or is making the acquisitions to acquire the necessary parts worth it (will the team have it then?)
  9. Correct. Now, is mortgaging that much of the future worth it to acquire the 4 or so players needed? I'm really starting to wonder with this team we have right now. Really, really wonder.
  10. If/When we get a quality starting pitcher, Schoeneweis could be used out of the pen. How effective do you think he'll be? What kind of role can we use him in? Certainly i'm not saying putting Schoe in the pen solves all problems, i just started thinking about the whole pen situation and where he would fit into the mix, and how he would pitch out of there.
  11. Well i don't think it's one of those trades where "Urbina will burn us for years to come" ala Beltran style Jackson is a very, very, very poor man's Tom Gordon. He can't do it in the majors, i'm willing to try anyone in the system while it's still "early". If someone works, keep him around. Nothing works, then KW knows he HAS to get a quality bullpen arm for down the stretch, maybe two. We need pen help at this point bad, i only trust 2 guys down there.
  12. Lots 3 hours before. Gates open 2 hours before. I read this on the Sox website
  13. Some of you need a reminder: http://bigleaguers.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5763 Why Colon is still mentioned around here is beyond me
  14. Working til 11 then taking off, should be rough.
  15. I think it simply depends on the moves KW makes. Right now this team doesn't have the talent to take first, IMO.
  16. I don't have a good feeling about this series either. It's the first time in a while i haven't been confident going into a Cubs series. Just hope i'm wrong.
  17. Sox line up this way today: CF Rowand 2B Uribe DH Thomas LF Lee SS Valentin 1B Konerko RF Gload 3B Crede C Olivo P Rauch

  20. The bangwagon jumping wanna be hardcore fans that "support" the Cubs for the image alone.
  21. Oh man, i always rant about how bad Mack Brown is with top 3-5 talent year after year after year. Excellent call
  22. That would be absolutely ridiculous...he could have little talent and still be dominant in the league. That's sick
  23. (laughing hysterically)
