The whole thing is an abortion. Who the hell approved them? Only thing missing is blood. Thank God Nike has our rebrand, and that we're not desperate for attention. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 10, 2014 -> 11:22 AM) Some people do care about it enough to research the specifics and not just believe whatever fits their pre-formed opinion of the school. Haha, right. Defend at all costs! -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 10, 2014 -> 10:07 AM) That's part of the joke The joke is the (ies), people spell it differently all the time as well?

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 10, 2014 -> 09:44 AM) It's funny to me when people like to act like things such as graduation rate or academic performace matter. People watch college athletics for the athletics. They root for who they root for for performance on the field of play. They don't care about how their favorite player is doing in the classroom. They don't care about what he'll be doing after he leaves school. People only pretend to care when it involves another school or if it leads to sanctions against their own. Certainly, alumni want their school to be looked at in as good of a light as possible. But when fans of a school's athletic teams try to act like they actually give two s***s about academics, please. No you don't. It just makes for a convenient little narrative when the opportunity to bash another school presents itself. It reeks of sour grapes every single time. And also don't care about off the field issues such as sexual assault? The above may be your opinion, but there are a ton of fans/alumni that care more about "just winning at all costs." It's more than just academics. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 9, 2014 -> 11:27 AM) Alshon Jeffrey(ies) replaces Megatron in the Pro Bowl If you're going to keep making this joke, you should at least spell his name correctly before adding the (ies).

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 9, 2014 -> 11:47 PM) 10 year old me was a total front-runner in 1999 when Weinke to Warrick was tearing up the country. I don't get it. What about people who go to a D2, D3 or community/junior college? Are they not allowed to root for other schools? I fell in love as a kid, and stuck with them through freakin' Chris Rix and Drew Weatherford and the failure that was Adrian McPherson. Not like I've been a USC, Texas, Oklahoma and Alabama fan over the last decade too. Wow, what tough times. -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 9, 2014 -> 08:38 PM) Notre Dame switches from Adidas to Under Amour. That's pretty big news... Tennessee's Adidas contract is up next year, and most people at UT say they're going to make the switch to Nike. That would be two huge losses for Adidas. And you thought nd had ridiculous special uniforms and helmets lately...oh boy. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 9, 2014 -> 12:36 AM) Brian, how dare you not tell people about my 15 seconds of fame tonight! Happy that we won a Valley road game and I got flipped off by a Loyola player at the end too which was nice. That game was much more fun than it should have been. You can take the kid out of the college, but can't take the college out of the kid. I can only imagine what you were saying... -

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 9, 2014 -> 09:51 AM) Oh, I completely get it. But sometimes people root for teams that they "shouldn't have ever begun rooting for" for completely valid reasons. Sometimes I feel people don't get that here. A team being great when you were a kid isn't a valid reason. Everyone should read the first part of "Now I Can Die in Peace" by Simmons. Whatever, I'm an Alabama fan from now on, too. It's easy and safe to be a front runner. So it's laughable when those same fans start talking smack. Lot of sweat equity there. -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 9, 2014 -> 12:02 AM) That FSU made adjustments by bringing out the towels in the 2nd half, and that Winston and the FSU offense dominated when the opponent didn't know what was coming? And that FSU has a lot of talent coming back next season? Is that ok? Or do I have to run the topics of my posts through you beforehand? Wow, rocket science to disguise play calls. Frankly, fsu is stupid to not do it to begin with. But to think that's the only reason is silly, Winston and fsu played like s*** when plays were there in the first half. Congrats on the win, die hard fan that started liking them because they were good and had cool uniforms. Well earned. -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 10:44 PM) Dameyune Craig is Auburn's co-offensive coordinator. He was Florida State's QB coach from 2010-12. He helped recruit Winston. After FSU's 3-and-out to open the second half, the game broadcast showed a meeting between some FSU players and coaches and you can hear Kelvin Benjamin say "Dameyune calling all the plays!" Before Kelvin shouts that Dameyune Craig was calling out FSU's plays? 36 plays for 156 yards (4.3 yards/play). After? 30 plays for 229 (7.6 yards/play). Winston was 14/18 passing after that with 2 TD. Also great news today that FSU juniors Rashad Greene, Tre Jackson and Cameron Erving are returning for a senior season. So far, only James Wilder, Jr. has declared early. Jernigan and Benjamin seem likely to go, then it's up to Devonta Freeman and Karlos Williams. Tyler Hunter, one of the starting safeties to start the season, got a medical redshirt and will be back next season too. What's your point? -

The chant was fine if msu had beat osu soundly, not blew a 17 pt lead. In that context, it was goofy. If I'm in that stadium I watch the clock get to 0 and run out of there with nary a celebration and frankly still frustrated. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 07:14 AM) That was actually one of the best designed plays I've ever seen. Whether it was Jimbo or his ST coach or somebody else who drew that up, that guy deserves a raise. Yes, Auburn is guarding against a fake. You can see when the initial action starts to the right of the formation that Auburn is there and has it easily handled. Then suddenly there's a reverse the other way. It's a third-level thinking play, as if they are faking the fake punt. It's far from the first time I've seen a reverse on a fake punt. Auburn lost contain, which they should have been instructed to do beforehand. If there's a guy or two on that side of the field anticipating a fake, it wouldn't have gone anywhere. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 07:45 AM) If you are down 3, you can consider going down at the 1, because you have a tying FG as a backup plan. If you are down 4, you never, ever, give up an opportunity to put the ball in the end zone. You could consider if it if was a tie game. In the situation last night, you had to go in the endzone anyway. FSU had 2 timeouts, so the only way the risk makes sense is if you take 2 straight knees, burn their 2 timeouts, kneel again, and bring it down to 40 seconds on the play clock. Then try to run it in on 3rd. It wasn't worth it. -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 11:59 PM) Yep. That was the play that changed the game. I didn't watch the ESPN feed with the coaches, but apparently they all called the fake before the play. It was one of those oh, here's an obvious fake situation, so obvious you know auburns ready for it and will stop it, so I was surprised they actually did, and then more so that it worked. -

I still can't believe the fake punt worked. As they were lining up, I figured there is just no way Fisher fakes it here. But, auburn has to be in nothing but a punt safe, just guarding against a fake. Yet they still looked unprepared. The game's over if they stop that. -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 11:29 PM) but after the missed FG, Auburn causes a turnover and gets 7 points. Probably doesnt play out the same way if the FG is made. Maybe. You could go with the for sure td on the missed pass in the 1st. Could not believe how terrible that was. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 11:26 AM) Was wicked cold out, but made it in to a freezing office. Just a reminder, there is no rationalization that can be made for saving a parking spot with a chair other than you are a terrible and selfish person. Just bring a shovel in your car. Come on, I wouldn't say a terrible and selfish person. I don't agree with being able to think you can save a spot with a chair, but those people certainly aren't terrible or selfish. Some people dig out those spots and their cars for a long time, for some guy to just come in and park there. Doing all the work for someone else to reap the benefits doesn't equal a terrible and selfish person.
