Isn't it something like the last 7 game 7's in a world series has been won by a home team? Definitely should be best record. They are only doing this because of the infamous tie, which was not selig's fault, say what you want. What did you want him to do, call for a "blastoff" to break the tie? Or kill the pitchers? I said I wanted Jose Cruz in December and January...when he was still a FA. Hindsight is 20-20....but IMO, it was a win-win situation. Witesoxfan and I were the big Jose Cruz backers when he was still out there. If i was around then, i would have been on the cruz bandwagon. I was high on him enough i made sure to get him in all 3 of my NL only leagues of which the drafts were in feb and march

Basically there's no logical reasoning behind it, it's just a "feel" i have, i think this can help turn the season around. Maybe it's wishful thinking but who knows. I don't want to go into the trip negative. Hopefully we can surprise.

Solid analysis right there man I am a fan of bunting more than we have been to move runners over, and running in some favorable spots that we haven't been.

I don't know how much valentin is "underachieving" .263 avg, higher than his past 2 seasons, leading team in doubles, tied for lead in hr, 3rd in rbis, slugging .545, 3rd in total bases i'd be wary to put him on the underachieving list with those guys, but that's just me.

Ya, but you don't know they'll f*** that up at the time (although i like grossman, i'd rather have leftwich). Still they got a better draft pick than had they won 2 more meaningless games. Cwsox, i'm wasn't a huge proponent of rooting against ur team, and i'd only do it if it guaranteed something, not just a hunch or a hope (manuel fired). When the bears season was over, them losing games would guarantee a better draft spot, so i didn't care if they lost. Losing some meaningless games would be more beneficial to the future, in theory. So don't see why a bears fan wouldn't do this. A meaningless victory wouldn't bring me as much joy as our future draft pick winning us more games down the road. I talked to plenty of people at bears games that disagreed and agreed with me on this, and i kept asking them what one victory now would do for them if it means sacrificing drafting byron leftwich (which is who we speculated they would get at the time). No good answer to that. As far as rooting against the sox hoping it gets manuel fired, i'm against that. If it was printed in black and white by KW that if they lost tonight he'd be gone, then that's another issue.
