Geez, Loaiza can't hit the side of a barn right now
-
I say Manuel stays because KW is too committed to him to get rid of his ass
-
Maroth threw like 7 innings of no hit ball and ended up losing the game by giving up like 4 in the 7th, can't get any luck

I don't think having Sammy on this team would have prevented the emergence of Maggs. Maggs in left, Sammy in right, what's the problem here?
-
That's all well and good, i just think the massive numbers he puts up far outweigh the negatives. And like chisoxfn said, he plays hard every day, he wants to win, and he does care about his teammates. He has a big ego....so what. So does frank thomas, and he isn't anything compared to Sosa right now. My point about being biased was i was looking past the fact that we hate him cuz he's a cub. I think part of this could be chalked up to hating him because he's on the cubs, but that's just my opinion. If that's not the case, well then ok. But "circus act"??? He's been getting better every year and i think the negatives he brings are focused on way too much. And hotsoxchick, what is to say we couldn't have Maggs and Sammy here? I never said would you rather have maggs or sammy, just would you want Sammy. It's arguable who is a better overall player. But if you are that impressed by Maggs, i think bringing in a player of Maggs talent (if not better), would be very beneficial to the team.

Whatever, if you say this team is better without Sosa than with him, i think you are sorely mistaken, and you are being a pretty biased Sox fan. If he was playing for Boston would you be saying this stuff? I mean to turn down having those numbers in your lineup is absolutely ridiculous.
-
Oh, and what those 3 division championships could have been....
-
1. yes. 2. no 3. I wouldn't. hey you copied.. thats what the answers to my quiz looked like too..... i guess we both get an A+............ What answer key are you using?
-
1. yes. 2. no 3. I wouldn't. Well i gotta disagree with you 100%, i don't think the cubs failures have much of anything to do with sosa.
-
Are you saying you wouldn't want Sosa on this team right now? Or are you saying you don't think he would have developed into the player he is now? Because i should sure put up with his distractions if he's going to put up those ridiculous numbers in this lineup
-
Good point. The lack of a good approach at the plate is inducive to hitting into some double plays when your top 2 guys are getting on base consistently
-
For sure, it increases the likelihood that every move you make is the right one. If everyone is clicking, it's tough to make a wrong move.

Konerko at 7 I should think not. Lee's 2 1/2 weeks don't make him a better hitter than Paul K Paulie's just not seeing the ball right now. If he can improve, then we might bring him up again. Konerko is really coming along. He's a better proven run producer so I'd stick him there. Plus its a better way to break up the slow players. Also in reference to Olivo, we'll see him draw plenty of walks as soon as he gets comfortable. This kid has great patience at the plate. One thing I'd do is have Carlos and Konerko ahead of Jose against lefties. Agree 100% with breaking up the slow players

If someone is that good they will always get an opportunity
-
Not well considering KW acquired him to close
-
How does getting rid of Sosa have anything to do with finding Ordonez? It's not like we couldn't play both of them.
-
Interesting lineup, although calling up Harris and sticking him in the leadoff spot is a bit dicey.
-
If KW wanted to get the media off of it last year he could have said he's secure for that year...what need is there to make a point of saying he's safe next year too? Doesn't make much sense.
-
Nice try, no dice
-
That's called not being a team player, and it's a load of crap we can't afford to have on this team.
-
That's a complete joke, i can't believe you would say that and then stick by what you said LAST year without considering the present
-
I know that...but he said it was obvious because it was lefty lefty, not because Koch was struggling. If he believes Marte was only brought in because of lefty lefty, then he would have pitched to Durazo also.
-
Oh i agree with going to Marte tonight, don't get me wrong.

We traded Sosa for George Bell, so don't bother with the argument, they'll kill ya Kill Who, they got Mitch Williams , how the hell is that any different than Bell. Do not see your point on that one We gave them Sosa, we did not get Palmeiro for Mitch Williams...huge difference. One of the deals had to do with the Sox, and we lost bigtime to the cubs directly. Just cuz the Cubs lost the other one, we didnt benefit for anything. You can't say "thanks for Palmeiro" like they can with Sosa.
-
Hate to say I told you so..... but I know HSC and Baggs weren't thrilled by this trade either. If this was 2002, Botch wouldn't see the closers role until about August with JM at the helm after blowing one or two games. But i dont know if that's the right move. Foulke lost his job and was spectacular the rest of the year and never got it back. He still deserves a chance to turn it around while in the closers role while it's early.
