Anyone who throws that hard, especially with his past record (it's not great, but still it's a lot of saves), has value. Yes, but it is fair to say that he has much less value after the way he has pitched the past month than if he had been more effective. If you were an opposing GM, would you pay top dollar in prospects for a demoted closer with an ERA over 7.00? Nope, you'd "take him off the Sox hands" and do them a favor by giving them a decent, not great prospect. I agree, however you said "what makes you think he has some value", i took that as "any value". Obviously he has less value now, not going to argue against that.

Everyone on this team is in a one month slump, you could argue. Thomas is in a one YEAR and one month "slump". Big difference there. I have more hope for everyone else to come out of their slumps before i believe thomas will come out of his, that's for sure.

Cerbaho got it right on the dot. I was rooting against the Bears at the end of this year in order to get a better draft pick. Think about this...the season is over, bears aren't going to the playoffs. Is there any difference between going 3-13, 4-12, or 5-11? Is there? There sure isn't, except for one thing, draft position. One win to get to 5 wins in a season as opposed to 4 isn't going to do anything for me. I'll be happy after the game for about 5 minutes, maybe...then i'll realize it's hurting our draft position. This season is over. So you must consider what is better for the future of this team. That would be losing the game...who cares if you win one more damn game. You are still rooting for your team by rooting for their future as opposed to the present which has absolutely no hope. Therefore, if one thought that with a different manager than Manuel, this team could go places, then rooting for them to lose if Manuel would be fired is still rooting for your team. If one is convinced that the sox will NEVER win with manuel, then rooting against them for one game, or however long, would be beneficial to the future. You are still rooting for your team. I don't buy your argument of "never ever rooting against your team." It just doesn't hold any ground, and it's an immature statement.

Frank in the 3 hole isn't helping us at all right now. He's supposedly seeing better pitches because he's in front of Maggs and he's still not hitting. I agree with Valentin 6th, he's got a good amount of pop and is usually a good RBI man....and he's not going to steal any bases at the top of the order anyway. You also might see that average start to dip, which is why you'd like him lower in the order.

WTF is this?!?! Basically you call someone through an operator, and you type what you want to say to them to the operator and she says it to them. then she takes what they say and types it back to you. You can really screw with people with this thing. So they don't know who it is it's just a "relay call" with an operator talking to them.

Well i'll share my story of how i almost saw xmen2. Went to the theatre friday with 3 friends, 2 already had tickets to 9:00 X2 and me and this other kid didn't. WE get there, 9:00 X2 is sold out. So we just say we'll buy tickets to anything else and just walk into X2 right? Well..we bought tickets to "what a girl wants" at 9:15, and when we get to the ticket ripper guy, he says out theatre isn't ready, wait to the side. So our two friends go into the theatre and save seats. Eventually we get down to our theatre, which is to the right from the ticket guy, while X2 is to the left. We walk into our theatre, no one is in there. We are like s***, how are we going to get into X2. So we go to the bathroom in hopes of finding a way across the way into X2. No dice, the security had us snuffed out, eyeing us the whole time. So we got back to what a girl wants, and my friend is like let's go see Lizzie McGuire instead, as if that would be even better. But whatever. So we walk across to the Lizzie theatre doors about 10 feet, IN A CROWD OF PEOPLE, and get in, and sit down with all these 10 year olds and their moms, etc. 2 mins later, tap on the shoulder "can i see your tickets please?" I'm like you gotta be s***ting me, how did this guy see us? So, we got kicked out of lizzie mcguire and ended up watching what a girl wants...pretty damn pathetic huh? However we got the last laugh as we snuck in the exit doors and managed our way into the theatre showing The Real Cancun, so we saw that for free. Now i'm pissed i didn't get to see X2, however i got to see What a Girl Wants and part of Lizzie McGuire. Terrible night to say the least.
