Basically that stat was useless because all it showed was that the sox won more times with valentin at SS than they did with Clayton at SS, and clayton sucks. You need good defense up the middle, he is NOT a good defensive player, if you keep his left handed bat around, it doesn't matter if he's at DH or SS...might as well not have him playing defense. Isn't that obvious?

What exactly does he do at short besides make a lot of errors that helps the team? If anything he's an asset on the basepaths and at the plate from the left side.

Crede had some nice plays on short ground balls tonight. If there was one bright spot, that was it....maybe besides Buehrle. Crede is young, it's the first April in the majors of his career, so i'll give him time. It's guys like Thomas, Lee, and Konerko that i'm concerned about much more....although i think Konerko is starting to come out of it (because he's hitting the ball to the opposite field!)

Jose doesn't hit for enough average to stay at the top of that order, and he can't hit lefties, so it'd be a good move. The only downfall of Konerko is that he's slow as hell, but you can somewhat hide that if he's a #5 hitter.

Dotel needs to become a closer at somepoint. And i heard something like 2 days ago saying Wagner would be the first one gone if the Astros fall out of contention. Also, they have Brad Lidge, who is nasty at this point. So they have 3 potential closers.

Like i said earlier, i'd like to get rid of Lee before Konerko, i think Konerko will eventually become a much better player than Lee. So maybe if we can just get the Lee/Kotsay switch going with something else included, that'd be nice And at this point i'd trade Thomas for almost anything
