QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 10:34 AM) LOL, I can't be the only one that caught a Bollig spin-o-rama pass to Leblanc in there. Wait, I was...but now you'll go back and watch it again to see the hilarity.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 05:09 PM) The Belushi thing was so f***in stupid, how was that allowed to happen? And trust me, I get the fact that you're not supposed to step on the logo but why put it on the floor in that case? You could tell some players were irked by it, especially him hoisting it. I do believe in the "if you didn't win it, don't hoist it" mentality. I have no idea how it was allowed to happen. I get the whole thing too being a hockey guy...and would buy into it if on the team, etc...but then why have a giant logo on the floor? It's one thing if it was already there, and then you decided hey, let's not mark it up and have it look like s*** (this would be the best reason), or just be superstitious about it, fine. But to purposely build it in, make it pretty big, and right in the middle? Even I have to say it's a bit odd. They are far from the only team to do it, but it's a valid point.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 04:57 PM) Maybe the Sox look at Sale's record and realize he doesn't have TWTW Post of the year.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 03:52 PM) So much fauxtrage! OMG HES ON A FLOOR THAT HAS A PICTURE!!! OMG A CANADIAN BOY IS A FAN OF HOCKEY!! ROAR ROAR ROAR Im going to chalk this up to first world problems. If you have time to b**** about who is touching the Stanley Cup your team just won, maybe you should re-think your priorities in life. First of all I'm not outraged, should preface the rest of my post with that. I don't know how many people are mad he was with the Cup, but it's stupid if they are. I mean, f***ing Jim Belushi was on the ice hoisting it, should be way more outraged about that. I would assume anyone that comes through the UC would get a photo with it. I think more of the outrage is because he's standing on the logo. What's funny is Blunk and Faber are standing right there and probably didn't have the balls to say anything, even though they go crazy on any media member who even comes close to it. And half the time they partition it off with velvet ropes. I also have no doubt Bieber had no idea that was against any sort of rule/tradition. Also, it's not just "fans" b****ing about it, Shaw took to twitter, etc.
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 03:35 PM) Who the f*** cares that Bieber was near the Cup. He's a Leafs fan, and we all know no Leafs fan deserves to be anywhere near the Cup nowadays QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 04:34 PM) No way in hell Bowman gives Crawford a similar contract. Not while Scotty is on staff, he of the "build a great team, we'll figure out the goalie situation as we go and not pay top dollar for one" mentality. Which, obviously, has worked for him in many different places. And it's already worked here twice.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 08:31 PM) Otherwise known as the "Illinois and Indiana fans dick measuring contest" thread! So who will Butler get to replace the Boy Wonder? I don't know, but where the f*** did that come from? -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) I cringe at stuff like that because you know half the audience is thinkng"wtf is she doing?" This. It's also boring after about 30 seconds.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 07:43 PM) This is after they missed the playoffs, bought out Briere and Bryzgalov, then paid a fortune for Mark Streit and now Vinny. Wow. And they now have a ton of work left to do to get under the cap.

QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Jul 1, 2013 -> 06:05 PM) I am on vacation right now and am heading to the games Wednesday and Thursday. I am totally pumped as I haven't been to the Cell since 2007 (just my luck the Sox are s***ty again the year I actually get to go again). We are staying at the Central Loop hotel and planning on taking the train to the games. We've got upper deck tickets for Wednesday- I am under the impression we cant check out the rest of the stadium with these tickets? Its no biggie as we've got lower reserved the next day but I just wanted to confirm that. Any advice/suggestions on places to go before the games? Definitely want to hit up some place with Sox merchandise outside the stadium. Maybe grab a beer somewhere if its not ridiculously priced. Would love to try the Big Hurt Beer (is it served anywhere in the Cell?) Any advice for things we need to check out inside? I know of the outfield statues and stuff but I want to be sure to get the full experience. Couldn't seem to dig up an old thread- I know people have given tips before. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. I cant wait!! Unless you have someone's season tickets, you can't get down to the lower deck with upper deck tickets. You can check out Chicago Sports Depot, it's connected to the park. You can stop there before, or even after going in the park. They'll scan your ticket in and out. Ton of merch in there, expensive stuff, but good selection. Bacardi at the Park is a place you can check out for a beer before, if you want, but it won't be cheap. Same gate as Chicago Sports Depot. Big Hurt Beer is sold in the park. In the upper deck, it's right behind the plate at a beer stand with a pretty large selection of bottles.

Firefox updated itself tonight when I opened it. When it opened, everything appeared super zoomed in. Text, the tool bar at the top, etc. I am able to make a page smaller by doing control and then + or -, but that only fixes the text on the page, not the tool bar. Also, it only fixes that particular site. So if I make Soxtalk smaller, then open ESPN, ESPN is still giant. I'd have to repeat this for every website. Resolution on the computer in general did not change, so that's not what needs to be adjusted. How do I fix this to make every website appear "smaller" (back to normal) and also fix the giant toolbar at the top? Thanks

QUOTE (G&T @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 05:58 PM) The videos completely missed the drama of some of the best parts of the playoffs. Why do I need 2 second clips of every goal when more time could be given the Frolik's penalty shot, the last goals against the Bruins, Seabrook's game 7 goal in overtime. Everything was just thrown together. I get it that they don't have months to work on it, but I'm not asking for Oscar winning stuff. Those were all in there. What do you want them to do, slow it down and make the video a half hour? It was meant to be a quick summary, nailing every game and triggering the memory of how it went down. -

I actually thought the video was fine, with or without a short time frame to turn it around. It was a brief summary of goals/saves etc for each win. What exactly was wrong with it? Also, this is kind of scary: http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/Two-A...-213556321.html -

QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 12:34 PM) Duncan Keith really wanted to go Braveheart, I saw him trying to get the mic on for awhile. He finally got it turned on, but you couldn't tell what he said (at least on NBC) as the newspeople were still talking over it. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 12:32 PM) I'm not watching, but that makes more sense, never mind. Funny that Kaner is the voice of reason. Kane didn't actually say that, I was just throwing that in there. Hell, he probably said something like that to him at some point. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 12:27 PM) I hope that's not the case. You are only the starting goaltender and English is your first language. You are probably one of the first people they expect to talk. Did you watch it? They only had certain guys talk as they were announced. It was pre-planned. Kane gave him the belt, which was not in the script, and the fans yelled speeeech and he said a few words, and did appear drunk. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 08:29 AM) Judging from the early social media reports, I am so happy with my decision to not head down to the parade. And it sounds like the average Blackhawk fan is a 19 year old girl. HS/college kids have nothing else to do today, so it'll attract every last one of them. We talked about this before, but though the intensity and depth of the Hawks run is not the same as 2010, it's on a much wider scale. Ratings higher, more merch...just overall more people involved this time around. There were a decent amount of people lined up at 9:00 on Washington at the start area - that didn't happen last time.
