Hopefully the correct forum here. I'm looking for the white version of the 1976-81 jersey. The one with the blue butterfly collar. I've fond the blue (road?) version at MLB: http://shop.mlb.com/sm-chicago-white-sox-a...pi-2430094.html First of all, I don't want to pay $200+. It doesn't need to be "authentic" or anything... just not too cheap. Second of all, I can't find the white version anywhere- expensive or not! I don't care if its used, old, whatever...

It all depends on how well they do, its FAR too early to speculate on 2007. If we win it all- or at least win the AL... KW will do everything he can to keep the team intact.

I've heard that most of the rain should be outta here, going north... GO SOX!

I don't know if anyone here knows their way through this stuff... but I've been looking for this forever and cannot find it. I am writing a program for personal/non-commercial use. I'd like to feed it live baseball scores. So I need some sort of source I can "grab". I'm open to anything: XML, RSS, text, whatever... I have to believe this stuff exists. Of course they'd only allow personal use of it (like any XML feed), which is fine. I found something close at FoxSports.com... but it doesn't seem to work perfectly, and doesn't seem "live".

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 01:13 AM) The Sox DID appear on the cover, except they were in the little circle at the top. Which is just crazy for a major sports championship not to garner the cover's main spread. SI blew that one, and they said it was because the series ended in the middle of the week, but they could have ran it the following week, which they didn't. Just another snub for the Sox. Doesn't really matter though, because a World Series championship trumps the cover of SI about 1,000,000 to 1. As Hawk would say... that is total BS. I have to believe when the World Series (or any championship series) is going on, they've designed a few covers in case either wins it, and can slap a photo behind it, and send it to print in a matter of minutes. Even if they won the series 20 minutes before SI went to print, they could still have done it.

Ok... I'm putting together/editing a video (for my personal enjoyment) of all of the important plays from the entire playoffs- from either the Sox or their opponents I've got every one of the scoring plays on both sides- those are easy to find. I've got the final play of every game. I've got El Duque's 6th vs. Boston. The dropped third strike. All obvious and easy to find. The defensive gems are hard to sift through, because I don't always remember which inning/out/batter they occured on. I'd like some suggestions for ones to include, and if you remember the inning or about where it happened...

The only problem is that Metra isn't so good when going from line to line. I live in the west suburbs, I think the Burlington Northern line. To get to another line, I'd have to go to Union Station. Well, at that point I could get on the El. I really wish they had some sort of cross-line stops... but I guess that's impossible over hundreds and hundreds of square miles...

QUOTE(hi8is @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) how are you getting this information? any news feeds online showing covrage? Is anyone covering this on TV?

Made this last night. Looks like its a lucky pumpkin? (Looks better when lit... but I was far too tired last night to take a pic)

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) Because there are 10,000 other people like you doing the exact same thing??? Really? I mean... I can't believe that there are enough people calling the hundreds of numbers they have *right now* Its only people like me, who don't do this too often, but have some free time BEFORE they go on sale...

I've called a bunch of TicketMaster phone numbers this morning... all the way out to South Dakota.... They're all busy?! That seems strange? Any ideas why?

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:22 AM) Ahhh, no JR. We can't root for both teams. :puke :fthecubs I don't care what happens with the Cubs. Come on, guys. 4 more wins and we can give up the Cubs junk for once and for all. You don't see Lakers fans going on and on about the Clippers, do ya? Chicago is a White Sox town again!

Good 10/12 dropped third strike images... http://www.vnvo.com/specials/sox_angels_10-12-05

Oh please... to everyone complaining, every team does this. Look at the Cardinals... up until the day they clinched, the team *never* lost. Since they clinched, they've had a terrible record. Look at a chart of their wins and losses over the season... We're playing for the White Sox, not for other teams. You gotta get there on your own. Also... we didn't complain that CLE got to play KC and TB at the end of the season. And this lineup of ours would beat both of those teams.

This one is for a lot of dads. And granddads. And great-granddads.

"So here we go..."

So does anyone know if the Sox will celebrate the division title after this win, or are they not going to do that? I know St. Louis did not when they were in this situation. Anyone know?

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) So I'm an idiot? No, no. DJ is.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) All I know is this, if I were a GM, I'd think long and hard about hiring DJ as a manager. I've long thought he'd be an exceptional candidate. I know a lot of you hate him, but the guy knew how to play the game (he wasn't great) and he's always talking about the suttle things he was taught that the Sox aren't doing. Your what hurts? An idiot is an idiot is an idiot.

Anyone going on the Road this week w/ the Sox?
downstairs replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) Just curious to see if anyone else is going to any of the games this week on the road. I am heading to the weekend series in Cleveland. Wanted to know if anyone else is going, and possibly wants to meet up with us. This is going to be a really exciting week. Go Sox. Considering a Cleveland trip. As much as I have hated that city to my core for years (and this has very little to do with their team... its just a rotten city)... I just can't wait to stick it to them in their own park. -
QUOTE(sufferingsoxfan @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) The Sox Have a 3 game lead on the Red Sox and a 2 game lead on the Yankees. I think the magic number to clinch a playoff spot (ie: wild card is 7) Yes, it is 7. But technically either Boston or NY has to lose at least 2 more games this year (since they play each other in a 3-game series). So I think that makes our magic number 5 or 6. (It could be 6 since NY could lose those 2 games...)

Considering that no regular season game counts for 2 wins or 2 losses, then all 162 are your biggest. Tonight is Colorado's biggest game of the year. Tonight is Tampa's biggest game of the year.

These are still available.... If someone wants to pick them up in the Schaumburg area today... 7.05 PM start...
