  5. Hyper extended my knee today playing indoor soccer. Doctors called it a sprain, but ill find out more tomorrow. I'm so thankful I didn't tear anything.

    I'll see what my measurements are at come spring break, and if they haven't improved like I believe they have then I will most likely start p90x. Otherwise, I'll stick with what I'm doing until at least summer. I think a 6 week period of this new work out plan I've implemented will be enough to take measurements for.

    Well the thing is i'm already in the best shape of my life, i went from 230 to 160, now I'm up to 170 after gaining 10 lbs in muscle since last November. I just think it would be better to start doing during summer when i have my basement at home and more room to do all the exercises. Will this make my muscles larger, and not just more toned and my body all ripped up??

I usually do pushups (usually a couple sets) then up it by 10 every 2 weeks. The problem is your body is going to get used to doing pushups and will stop gaining muscle. You will plateau real easy doing that. The easiest thing i can tell you to do is go to the gym where they have the necessary equipment. I know that might not be a possibility though.

    So are you guys noticing a huge difference in your bodies since you started p90x? I'm considering starting it once summer comes around.

Also, I have had numerous shoulder issues, nothing too serious just frequent strains, they seem to be fine but Im skeptical about switching to heavier weights. My usual shoulder exercises are seated military press and upright row, do you guys have any other exercises that might be less stressful and more effective? I've heard that to gain muscle size the best way is to do your 1st set at 10 reps, add 5 lbs do the 2nd at 8 reps, and add 5 lbs again and do the 3rd at 6 reps. Make the last set to failure. This way you're telling your muscles that they need to grow. I've been doing this for about 3 weeks now and I've already seen a difference in size and strength. I think I'll be sticking with this workout technique.
