  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 08:07 PM) Pretty good schedule for a season ticket holder, although it would be much better if the Steelers and Browns were flip flopped. Like you said, That Browns game will make the Redskins one last year look like Woodstock. if you enjoy road games, NOLA in October is wonderful and it's a fun stadium. Tough early schedule for the Bears football wise, But never fear Mike Glennon is here! I was looking forward to seeing when the Bears played in Nola because I planned on going to that. Love that place. However...Halloween weekend is the best weekend in New Orleans all year for both tourists and locals. But, hotels are wayyyyyy more expensive so if you can afford it, do it. It's amazing.
  2. Got excited after the DWade signing last summer. Was let down pretty quick and pissed off at this team with the GarPax BS. Tried to give up my emotional investment in this team til something changed anddddddd its back. Might say f it and go Sunday.
  3. No way in hell SLU would leave the A10 for the MVC.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 3, 2017 -> 10:38 PM) Damn. I did not know that. I guess the extension he signed would put the Saluki administration in a bind if they wanted to try somebody new before his contract runs out. How's his recruiting for next season? His recruiting has been terrible. The top guy of the class decommitted and went to prep school instead.
  5. QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 09:34 PM) Can't stand watching games where the announcers are calling the game from a studio Not that im fluent in spanish in any way, but I watch the Telemundo feed instead. USA was lucky to get a point. Need players to get healthy before the next games.
  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 28, 2017 -> 10:20 AM) How was the Bellagio/Cosmo area with all the s*** that went down? Or maybe you just missed it. I left for the airport about an hour before it happened. My friend who was there an extra night had to wait over half the day to get back into his room at the cosmo though.
  7. It was so nice being in Vegas last week for the sweet 16 games. Weather really cooled down before we got there but still was great. 3 days is a lot, was absolutely spent all day yesterday after getting home Saturday afternoon. Now, my need to go back to New Orleans is back on my mind. Still my favorite place in the world.
  8. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 1, 2017 -> 09:23 AM) Yea, we were blown away when looking it up. $650ish a night for it, and then we supplemented with cheap rooms (100 a night) for extra beds. When you split it among 6 people it's not bad at all. I'm going to keep this in mind for future Bachelor party considerations.
  9. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 28, 2017 -> 12:57 PM) Awesome, yea we try to get one nice suite so that we have a good place to watch games/pregame when not at the tables/sports books/pools. MGM Sig has nice places and so does the Elara Hilton. This year we have one of the Golden Nugget suite's: I'm interested to see how Downtown is for a few nights, only been there for a few hours before and it should be a pretty different experience. Typically we stay near the Cosmo, love that area. My god. That is incredible.
  10. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 28, 2017 -> 09:46 AM) Nice, where are you staying? I'll be there as well, at the Golden Nugget (first time staying downtown). We've got a group of 11 of us going. I'm staying at the Monte Carlo, but my one friend has a suite at the Cosmo with a balcony overlooking the Bellagio fountains. I imagine most time spent in a hotel will be there.
  11. "Get Out" was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
  12. I'll be in Las Vegas, March 22-25 for the Sweet Sixteen. Cannot wait.
  13. Go Dawgs! Maybe our BBQ sauce salesman of a coach will say something stupid enough to get fired. That would be the only win I see coming from Arch Madness for Southern.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 01:16 PM) In recent memory, perhaps no team is more loaded in assets outside of their roster than the Boston Celtics. Before we even consider what they have in future drafts, don’t forget this team still has 2016 first-round picks Ante Zizic and Guerschon Yabusele overseas — Dancing Bear is one of the best nicknames ever, by the way. Both of those players have a chance to come over next year, too. This season, Yabusele is averaging 21.5 points, 9.5 boards, 2.1 assists, 1.0 blocks, 1.3 steals and 2.0 treys on 54.2 percent from the field and 68.9 percent from the line in China with the Shanghai Sharks. Meanwhile, Zizic is averaging 15.5 points, 7.1 boards, 1.0 assist, 1.1 blocks, 0.5 steals and 2.0 turnovers in 25.5 minutes per game in multiple high-end Euro leagues. Pretty solid. Yabusele projects as a wide-bodied, floor-spacing four with the ability to play the five, which makes him a great fit for the way NBA teams construct rosters now. Zizic is more of a typical five at 7'0", but you can never have enough decent centers, right? Just look at how many bigs have been overpaid in the past few years. When it comes to the upcoming drafts, Boston is completely stacked. They have what should be the No. 1 lottery position with the Nets unprotected pick in a pick swap (that means Brooklyn gets the Boston pick in the late first), they get the Nets pick unprotected in the 2018 draft, Boston also gets its own picks in the 2018 and 2019 drafts, a 2019 lottery-protected first round Clippers pick, and a top-eight protected Memphis pick in 2019. By the way, they got those picks in the fleecing Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett deal, the Memphis pick from the 2015 Jeff Green deal, and that Clippers pick is from 2016 draft night when they traded the No. 31 and 35 picks to get that upcoming selection. On top of those, Boston is stacked in the second round. Sparing you some protections here, here are their second-round assets: they have the 2017 second-round picks of the Wolves, Clippers and Cavs. They also have the second-round picks for the Pistons in 2019, and also in 2020 they have the Miami pick in the second round. Crazy. If the protections work out, that’s 13 picks in the next four years! Chicago is wisely waiting this out to see if Boston will budge and unload some of their picks. With all those draft picks, they almost have to make a move just because they only have 15 roster spots and some of those picks just won't have a spot. This should be fun. On a side note: Is there a team in U.S. major sports in a worse position overall than the Brooklyn Nets?
  15. I've got a group of 8 of us golfing on Saturday. This is insane. Outdoor drinking might be my favorite activity so to do it in February is pretty nice.
  16. Watch them beat the warriors tonight without Butler lol
  17. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Feb 7, 2017 -> 10:18 AM) I think i watched two seasons of that and then have forgoteen it was on. Watching Justified. Walter Goggins could be my favorite actor. Still one of my favorite shows ever. Justified is so incredibly under appreciated.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 1, 2017 -> 05:27 PM) Mental note: Do not move to Lake Zurich while my kids are high school age Couldn't be more proud to be an Alum... However, there's no way in hell this goes back to 1997... I feel that claim is a little far fetched. I graduated in 08, did not play football, but this came as a surprise to a lot of the guys that played football while I was there and the years before me.
  19. I love signing day. So hard to focus at work. It was pretty much all signed and sealed for the Buckeyes before today, but still a couple guys could still sign. Monster class either way.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 31, 2017 -> 07:59 AM) Also from Mike & Mike: They were saying on Mike and Mike that one of the reason that the front office didn't like Thibs and Jimmy is that they tried to screw him on his previous contract and told him if he didn't sign his smaller restricted option they would give his minutes to Jimmy Snell and limit his stats so he didn't get a max deal. And that Thibs said no way and played Jimmy anyway. If that's true that is wrong on so many levels and it's no surprise that they never get free agents to come. I got the above third party and will try to verify. If all this turns out to be true, how does the front office survive a story like this getting out? That's f***ing atrocious.
  21. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Jan 31, 2017 -> 03:11 AM) Just booked my flight to Vegas for $131 round trip out of Chicago at the end of July. Have been stressing about how much this trip (bachelor party, I'm best man) would cost me, but this is a huge relief now that prices have come down. Just 2 weeks ago the cheapest I saw were $418 on Spirit Airlines both ways, red-eye flights. Now, there are a handful under $150. I realize booking 6 months early is....early, but how much cheaper could it have gone? $115? I am just glad I have it out of the way and don't have to stress out about price/airline/flight times. And I paid the extra $15 to have the ability to cancel my flight and trip insurance and ability to pick my seat, and all that. That is a very good price. I can't see it dropping much more than that.
  22. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 12:41 PM) Yeah man, Royal Blood blew me away the first time I heard them. I think what caught my attention first was the sound coming from Kerr's bass, nothing like I had ever heard before. Have you seen the teaser trailer RB put out on the net? It shows someone getting a tattoo of "2017" on their arm. IMHO, they are referencing the upcoming album followed by a tour. I do know they are playing Bonnaroo in June this year and I doubt they are pond hopping for one show only so I'd bet there will be a North American tour this summer. Man, there is alot of good music coming out of the UK and I'm hoping to catch em when they tour the US. I recently found a few local bands that have grown on me named Vamos, Twin Peaks and The Jetbirds. Had a chance to catch Vamos in November when they opened for a couple of Aussie bands at the Empty Bottle and funny enough that's where I met one of the band members from Twin Peaks so it was a blast. Also digging a band from Wisconsin band called Tenement. Dudes have written a ton of music the last few years and it's pretty good. Royal Blood f***ing rules.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 11, 2017 -> 08:52 AM) I don't like GA either but I didn't see much in that last night. Even the coach that got pushed squashed it as no big deal. Maybe because his team won so big and he's just being a good sport. Game of the Year tonight! Salukis hosting Redbirds! Go Dawgs! If they win tonight, I might actually let myself think they could be top 4 in the conference. Birds haven't won in Carbondale since 2013, and they are 7 pt favorites. Southern still without Fletcher. Should be fun!
  24. It's pretty impressive how big of a piece of s*** Grayson Allen is.
