  1. It was DEAD AIR from Stoney after Mendick was thrown out. You could just feel him wanting to say how stupid it was.
  2. Looks like we’re going with the “easy out at cleanup” strategy again vs RHP. Has Ricky ever acknowledged that Abreu is a bad hitter against RHP? I guess RR sees the 3-4 spot as. lifetime achievement award.
  3. This is true, but doesn’t change the fact that Abreu is an easy out vs RHP no matter what the others are doing. Grandal has no business in the top 3 either, and he should see absolutely nothing to hit with easy out Abreu behind him. Ricky is doing opponents favors every time he trots out these lineups that spread the hitters that other teams are concerned about all over the lineup with easy outs behind them.
  4. I’ve found that people will focus and concentrate when faced with losing life, jobs, stability, etc.
  5. Batting Abreu cleanup against righties is a black hole in the middle of the lineup. He is NOTHING against righties. This removes any protection from Eloy at the same time.
  6. It’s a bad omen for a big day when your ace sh*ts all over himself (AGAIN), when he should be steady and taking care of business.

  8. I don't know how you quantify it, but you just don't see this much stupid crap consistently from other "competing" organizations. All the more reason to clean managerial/coaching house. Watching this crap for several years is passed old.
  9. UMMMMMM.....Ozzie? Hello?
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 07:10 AM) ....and other off the wall things that would drive you nuts. Name something that would cause you to stop watching the rest of 2011. The Greg Walker thing is my first salvo in this ridiculous thread. What do you have? DON'T YOU PUT THAT EVIL ON ME RICKY BOBBY! DON'T YOU PUT THAT ON US!
  11. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 06:23 AM) If he's not traded before July 31 he'll be placed on waivers, but who's gonna pick him up? And if someone does, they're not going to do what the Sox did and just take over the contract. If somebody makes a waiver claim on Alex Rios, they MOST CERTAINLY will be taking over that entire contract. You can bank on that.
  12. Would it be too disrespectful to Dunn for him to be shut down until after the AS break?
  13. This is honestly not hyperbole. Is Adam Dunn the worst "regular" in Major League Baseball? What can the Sox do with him? The money is already blown--the best thing for the team right now is simply for Dunn not to play.

Ahhhhh. The old Friday morning wedding. Congrats!
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 02:34 PM) Next person to suggest Rios will get released should be banned. Wasted money is wasted money. It's wasted whether it's on the field wasting 4 ABs a game, sitting on the bench, or outright released. When you make a bad business deal, even a huge one, there's always a time to consider where your stop-gap is.
  16. Time for KW or JR to literally make an "all-in" move. This means: Fire Ozzie; DFA Pierre; Waive Rios; Fire Walker.....some combination of 1 or all of those things. Create an "OH SH*T" environment in the organization. Time to make guys feel uncomfortable. This is it! The Sox are statistically in a position to still win the division, but this team as-is probably has a 15% chance or less. Shake things up, ride it out, and see what happens. Put your money where your mouth is, and make a true ALL-IN move. That's my opinion.
