Do we really think that White Sox thought it would cost $250 million or less for Manny?!? I like the silence on White Sox (other than being on the periphery of tweets and of course our own Hector Woo Woo) as they operate well this way.
-
Maybe a translation issue again but 8/$250 is not all too similar to 8/$240 WITH MONEY DEFERRED
-
Dec 1: Sox 7/175...Manny waits for 10/350 Jan 1: Sox 7/210...Manny waits for 10/325 Feb 1: Sox 8/250...Manny waits for 10/300 March 1: Sox & Manny meet at 9/275...and March 1 declared Hector Gomez Day on Soxtalk

That’s not mutually exclusive if Manny is basing preference on $$, which is very likely.

This is spot on...our very own teoray23 is wetbutt23. Let’s take it a step further: Rick Hahn sitting on a towel during Wednesday’s presser...Rick Hahn is wetbutt23 and thus teoray23.

I don’t know who this is but he kinda predicted the Super Bowl outcome...

It’s quite a stretch to think this is a daily double long play but... Let’s go back to the Chris Sale and Adam Eaton trades in December 2016, which happened essentially within 24 hours of each other. Nats close for #1 option Sale, leaks come out, Boston (also in negotiations) succumbs and Sox complete that deal w Boston. Discussions clearly on-going previously on Eaton w Nats as Sale trade pieces altered for #2 options (somewhat slightly Dunning instead of Robles) and that deal consummated very quickly after. Replace Sale and Eaton with Bryce and Manny and this could be a similar play. Based on discussions during the 2016 All-Star break around Sale (and prob Eaton), this didn’t happen over a couple weeks, Sox were planning for December at least as far back as July. Imagine what they could pull off with 2 years of planning (if they have been looking ahead to this free agency since December 2016), which most board insiders have said is the case. The biggest difference here (aside from trades vs free agency), and this is a big If especially in regards to timing of deal is that the current smoke isn’t coming from anyone highly reputable. IMO, it’s not at the finish line but easily can see that Sox trying to pull off BOTH.

This one has a k0na (random guy who broke the Danks extension) feel.

Oh, I thought it was when he said: “ ‘get ready’ is what I tell the players when they first come to spring training” and ”if some players come out to the field without their black and white mitts, I tell them ‘you guys aren’t even ready’ “

Every once in a while, I glance down at the recently browsing members section in a thread and I see “Druthers”...long time lurker, zero time poster.

Rick expecting a heated presser where he’d have a lot of butt sweat?!? What’s with the towel?

Check out ChiSoxFanMike’s twitter for latest information.

The Carlos Quentin?

This contradicts what other “insiders” were intimating at the time so MysteryManBS1969 may be the contrarian who has also come around ?

I respect and appreciate @teorey23 because: 1) he has a consistent narrative since mid-January 2019 when he joined 2) he backed up his recent claims with an old post from his “source”...which was himself 3) he is saying what we all want to hear...and tomorrow is Wednesday
-
No offense but I believe Cousin Eddie more than I believe you, Uncle Rey.

Hahaha...

Mitch Winkleman is @raBBit source?!? Guy might be right about Manny deal coming out tomorrow but don’t think a presser or “official announcement” will happen at GRF tomorrow.
-
I feel like we’ve been there with the security thing a month or so ago. Presser/Event at Guaranteed Rate?!? Why not just do it in Arizona?
-
At least we know Manny has history w Rawlings, customized gloves and Instagram posts. EDIT: this is from 2016 All Star Game

Sox hitters already ready for camp // Burger is hitting off tee
heirdog replied to bmags's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Just based off the tee work, Burger looks better than Eloy. ? -
Nice work, Shack. Fingers crossed they pull it off.

I tend to agree with this. @macsandz has, in the past, said Sox feel good about where they are with Bryce. The 3 team dog and pony show w Manny in December and in-law/BFF signing makes it hard to “hide in the weeds” on Manny but I think Sox are doing just that with Bryce. Alonso and Jay could be as much about recruitment as it is about keeping Manny professional (hustling, saying the right things, etc), something I don’t think teams worry about on Bryce. Might have to go 10/310 on Bryce and 8/260 on Manny so one wins total value and the other AAV. Before we take Rick Hahn at face value on “not the best financial decision to sign both”, let’s not lose the fact we are talking about two HoF type talents in their absolute prime. I bank on that more than relying on 2 of Robert, Adolfo, Basabe et al coming close to the level of Bryce.

Lol, “Cousin Eddie” is clearly a Vacation fan. Next he’ll tweet...”Bet you sure could use a cool one, hey Manny?”

Zoom in on the chest...on the left lol.
