  1. Ya ever notice how Bosh looks like a skinny catfish?
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:55 PM) I'm done doubting the Bulls. Their defense is late 90's Jordan-led like. You better be done with the doubting. Shame on you!
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 15, 2011 -> 06:53 PM) I love this motherf***ing team. Me too but I'm so f***ing nervous it isn't even funny.
  4. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 15, 2011 -> 03:58 PM) Kenny will have to release him soon. There is no excuse for this guy to take up a roster spot. At the very least that mustache has got to go.
  5. QUOTE (T R U @ May 14, 2011 -> 12:37 AM) not gonna happen brah Ob-La-Di, Ob-la-Da. Life goes on.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 14, 2011 -> 06:51 AM) Seriously. Give me a real nickname over than damned Arod style of nicknaming. Damn straight.
  7. Thank you Coco Crisp for your attempt at stealing home (Well done, AJ!!!).
  8. I was at a game in the late 60's. It was one of those then typical tiny crowd days. There were only maybe 2,000 in the park. Probably not even that. I was sitting behind the Sox dugout. Killebrew hit a line drive shot into the left-centerfield upper deck. I never have seen a ball hit that hard. It really took off like a rocket. There was nobody in the upper deck (there was hardly anyone in the lower deck). I remember hearing the ball crash into one of the seats. Kinda cool. It makes me really sad to hear about Harmon. My mom died in hospice care a year ago on Mother's Day. It's really weird when you're playing doctor so to speak in your loved ones final days, administering morphine for pain and everything. But, we wouldn't have wanted it any other way. My mom wanted it that way and she was so at peace right to the end. My heart goes out to the Killebrew family.
  9. Back in the day, when the Sox played in Milwaukee, Hawk and Wimpy would often stay at the Abbey on Lake Geneva where I worked at the front desk. They liked to play golf in the area. I worked nights and checked the both of them out several times early in the morning. Wimpy was especially nice and I talked with at great length one particular morning. I told him I was an avid Sox fan and that got the ball rolling. I told him how much I always liked a commercial for Sox games he did for channel 44 back when he was playing (he did a Dracula impression, I think the promo may have been for bat day). It was a classic. He talked about his kids and I talked about mine and he offered me tickets to that day's game which I declined because 1. I was tired (I was tired all the time for the 15 years I worked there...working nights sucks) and 2. I had to go home and take care of my kids while my wife worked. I always wished I could have taken those tickets. Anyway, Wimpy is one of the nicest guys you could ever want to meet and certainly one of my favorite announcers ever.
  10. Congrats to the Bulls! Now BEAT the F***in' HEAT!!!!! I've never so disliked a team that hasn't even accomplished anything yet....well, except of course the Cubs.
  11. I voted for the I don't want to think about it option. I'm old enough that I remember when the White Sox nearly did move. I remember too the Sox playing "home games" in Milwaukee (ugh). Those were bleak days to be a Sox fan, lemme tell you. I sat many a day watching the Sox at Comiskey amongst a "crowd" of 1,000 to 2,000 fans. I went to a double-header when there was LESS than 1,000! I'm old enough to remember the Chicago Packers/Zephyrs of the NBA. When they moved to Baltimore and became the Bullets (now the Washington Wizards) I remained a fan until the Bulls came along. Side note: I went to the very first Bulls home game at the International Amphitheater. Since I'm not in the Chicago area it would be easier for me to remain a fan of the Sox if they moved since now I only get to see them when they come to Seattle anyway. But in this day and age with the ability to see all/any major league game via things like mlb tv i(not to mention Soxtalk!) t's far easier to remain a fan of a team even if you aren't nearby to go to home games. If I were in Chicago still and this happened there is no way in hell I could switch allegiance to the Cubs. That could NEVER happen.
  12. QUOTE (Bighurt52235 @ May 9, 2011 -> 10:33 PM) Attending the series in Seattle has resparked me, I was actually pumped up watching tonight's game, which was probably the first time for me personally since the loss to Oakland to make us 7-5. Great to see Dunn startng to hit the ball well. Funny how that works, huh? I attended as well and it totally has rekindled my interest and hopes. I felt that a little Sat. night and totally after the finale on Sunday. Funny what winning can do. I'm almost all in, again.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 8, 2011 -> 07:44 PM) They probably would have lost regardless, but it was a 6 point game at that point and three free throws would have been incredibly important. That call sealed the deal. Bad! Come back to Chicago and clobber 'em!!!
  14. I was at the game with 3 of my kids. My youngest son hadn't seen the Sox win since either 2003 or 2004. Yay!! Broke his losing streak. It was only the Mariners but I do have a feeling things might be turning around.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ May 8, 2011 -> 09:31 AM) I heard that Beckham wanted to sign it, but he couldn't keep his eye on the ball. True!!
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 8, 2011 -> 09:12 AM) It wasn't greg. I think bigEd said he was the one that got the ball. HAhaha. Funny. Yeah, I'm not Greg and I do have the ball.
  17. Bedard has been very solid in his last 2 starts....time to knock him around! SHUT 'EM DOWN MARK!!!
